The Whole Package of a Woman

On the other bazillion paged thread, Dvls said: "The fact that women often describe a "whole package" whereas men rarely mention the concept is somewhat telling. A man is more likely to go for a woman on looks alone. Are you ladies REALLY disagreeing with that???"

Yes, I am disagreeing with that.

Because I know for a fact that men ALSO want "the whole package". I disagree with the idea that they are more likely to go for a woman on looks alone.

Of course, if you are talking about "just for sex" then yeah, looks alone is fine for BOTH men and women.

But if you are talking about picking a partner, men want the whole package as well. Perhaps young men, not knowing what qualities the really need in a long term partner, may pick a woman on looks alone....and then later realize they missed out on many other important factors.

My husband picked me based on MANY other factors besides looks. Looks is the EASIEST part of what I bring to the table. On top of looks, with me specfically, he also got the following qualities in me:

*brains

*a career woman

*the anti-doormat

*never ending interesting conversation

*great family and great family values

*financially independant

*physicallly fit (an athlete)

*mind blowing sex

*lack of baggage

The above list does not represent every man's list of "other factors" he is looking for in a wife. But it was my husband's list, and I filled the bill wonderfully.

In talking to him, he made it clear that looks alone would mean nothing to him. Having had plenty of beautiful women in his life, that was not his top goal in picking a partner (which does not mean he doesn't find me beautiful...he certainly does). But beauty itself is not enough.

I have read many men (here) talking about all the other wonderful qualities their wives have BESIDES their beauty, and I know for certain that a man requires "the whole package", just like a woman does.

The idea that men can add "other attributes" and up his sex rank, but that a woman cannot do the same, is more of the same rediculous double standard I spent a million pages discussing on that other thread.
