Confused over ex's behaviour.

Long story short we broke up 2 years ago. She had cheated a few times after being together for 2 years - it was horrible. We have moved on but she made contact again 3 months ago, just casual chat which was nice. Anyways I don't have her on facebook but that is how she contacted me. Ever since then (first noticed by a mutual friend), she keeps changing her cover/profile picture as if it were in competition with me. For example I would upload a picture of me and my sports team, a couple of days later she would upload hers (I rarely change mine until recently whereas she changes hers every few days or so). Then I changed mine to a picture of me and my friends - she did the same, then me playing sports and then she did the same, me and a girl - her and a guy etc. This has gone on for the past 3 months, its seems like too much of a coincidence (I've not changed mine to compete with hers, its always been her to change to the similar theme..) Whats going on?
