Fishy cover up? or Frustrating jealousy?

aarrrgh... Hi. I need to vent a little. Why do men have to be jerks when they don't need to be?... See... One of hubby's best friend.. just started going out with this new girl. It ends up that it was one of hubby's lady friends from high school (25+ years ago). According to him, they never "went out",... but he & her were pretty close one year. (He had feelings for her, but maybe not the other way around). So, he comes home from work last night & said he's giving his friend a ride to "Tracy's" (Idk.... coincidence that it sounds so close to "Stacy" which is this girlfriends name??) Anyway, His friend drinks a lot, but is pretty responsible for getting a ride from people. ie, not drinking & driving. So, it's very normal that is hubby is giving "Josh" a ride. Then i ask if I should make him a sandwich, or something real quick to eat. He said... well, No they should be here soon. then when it was 5 mins later , he said yeah, make him a sandwich if I could make it before "they" got here. (He only told me before that he was giving "Josh" a ride.). When the truck pulled up, low & behold it has Josh & Stacy in it. Hubby asked what color the truck was.. then said, "Oh, They are here. Later." ... and starts to go. I said... why didn't you tell me she was going too?? His reply was "I didn't know." (Bull). So he leaves. I wait for a while & call him. Ask if they are there yet...etc. Then I said .. why did you say you didn't know she was going? And he proceeds to tell me he DIDN'T know. Okay then who was the "they" that you said when you said "Are they here?" His reply was that he wasn't going to get into that over the phone with me now. Gee... Should I be worried or not? Did he just know that I was going to be jealous, so he didn't want to tell me? Hoping that I wouldn't see her? Or was he trying to hide it? If so, Why? unless he thinks he has something to hide? He did come home at a pretty reasonable time (9pm) compared to most times when he is the designated driver for this friend. So.. why the early night back? Also, then, when they came back, Him & Josh both came to the front door. (Also pretty unusual.) I said that if Josh had been drinking, that Hubby could drive him home & that I'd come over & pick up hubby in a little bit. Josh said, no, he was fine, only had 2 beers. That's when i got upset... Okay.. what was the big show about hubby driving him tonight then? Was it "Stacy" that wanted my husband along for their get together? Is Stacy really not into Josh that much & it's a cover up so the hubby & her can "talk about the old times"? Am I just putting it all in my head? Because I know I'm jealous. No.. he didn't talk about it much after he was back. Just went into bed. Then when i tried to talk, he'd answer in one syllable replies. If I asked more than yes or no answer, I got a shrug, or nothing. Frustrating.
