Break Ups and Identity

  • Thread Starter

Hey everyone!

I thought this could be an interesting conversation and get your opinions on it all :H

Basically when you break up with a partner do you feel like you lose part of your identity.

What I mean by this, is you go from being X and Y to just X.
- Do you feel that you don't feel yourself as much as your so used to being "we"?
- If you did how did you overcome this?
- The literature says we should take time away from our exs and give ourselves some space to find our identity again. Do you agree with this or were you happy to spend time with your ex after splitting

All thoughts and opinions are welcome even if you haven't had a break up, what do you think you would do in the situation?
