Our relationship over the last few months has been a very close one, with us seeing each other everyday and with me helping her through a bout of depression brought on by the stressors of university.
We hang out a lot outside of university and of course I am around her place a lot. If she isn't at hers, or at uni with friends she is at my house or at work (we both work together). Since before Christmas (October time), we see each other almost everyday and if I am not stopping at hers she is at mine. This was around the time we got engaged (she asked me).
However, since the start of this weekend I just feel her pulling away a bit. Her best friend has come over to stop with her, and pretty much since then our contact has been minimal. Now I understand it is her mate, and she needs time away, but it's almost like I don't exist.
It's like reply to her message, and then she gives me one sentence replies saying 'yeah I love you too', and aLways says she's going to call me later but never does. It's frustrating when she sort of tells me she's going to do it but doesn't.
It feels like I miss her more than she misses me, I'm always the one expressing my affection for her. Whereas a few months ago, she would be the emotional one.
She told me the other day that I probsbly feel odd because I'm so used to having her around a lot, and that a few days away can't be bad.
I know I sound very insecure and needy, but I just hate being apart. I have my own friends, sure, but I just don't have fun with them as much as I used to do.
It feels like my girlfriend has more of a life outside us than I do. I mean I'm at uni right now and doing okay with assignments, it just annoys me when I empathise with her and am there for her and 'miss' her yet right now she has this sense of indifference to her.
I understand she is catching up with mates but at same time she's sort of distnacing away.
What can I do to combat my sadness?
