I recently met this guy, we spent two weeks in the same country and I saw him most days. We had 8 dates and started falling for each other extremely quick, we both saw a future with each other and wanted things to work. There's something between us but were not in a relationship.
He was in a LDR for a year and a half in which he said was the hardest time in his life and it made him very unhappy, he didn't want to party or do anything, he only wanted to be with her. This was a couple years ago now...
I'm 23, he's 19...
His Facebook age was 23 so I knew his age from that and didn't need to ask, although I mentioned his age before in general conversation and he didn't correct me, he went along with it. Ofc I wouldn't have anything to do with a 19 y/o (relationship wise)... But I'd already started falling for him. He was truly apologetic and wanted to tell me earlier but couldn't find the right time. He looks a lot older than his age and acts it too. He's ambitious, wise and knows what he wants. Commitment doesn't scare him.
He's in his finial year of a science degree which will then get him into medical school, he's got 5/6 years of study left. So by the he's left uni I'll getting on a bit... :/
Are home countries aren't the same and 7 hours away on the plane. He also goes to uni in America, if it was to work I'd have to move there within the next year or two. He's tied in and has a scholarship with the university... I really do think I've found the one. BUT as he's a student it'll be me doing the visiting, I plan to visit him in America in a few months, I want to see how it develops...but I've been looking ahead and doing research and it turns out that id really really struggle getting a visa to live there. My skills aren't in need over there so no employee would pay an extra 5k to "sponsor me" or be bothered to do the paperwork which comes along with it. There's seasonal jobs over there which company's regularly hire from out of states or I could go as an Au pair or I've seen some rubbish general hospitality jobs, but the pay is obviously very low and I'd be sabotaging own ambitions.
What do you think guys? Should I slowly let it drift away or make it work somehow? :o
Put the internet to work for you.
