There is a post in CWI that references how the husband is going to cut down on watching sports, and the wife is going to make an effort to watch more sports. It got me thinking to my own experiences, and how lucky I am that my wife follows sports and likes my teams. She is certainly not as passionate about sports as I am, but will watch a game with me, follow the news online.
Before I met my wife, I dated a girl who liked the opposite teams I did. I am a Boston fan, she was a casual New York fan. She would openly root for my teams to lose no matter the importance of the game and who was playing. It rubbed me the wrong way. Keep in mind this was late 90s early 00s before the Boston teams had sustained success. After we broke up, I vowed never to date someone who didn't like the same teams. Eventually I moved from New England away from the New York fan to New York and marrying a Boston fan.
If you are a sports fan, and dating, is who their teams are a dealbreaker for you?
