Double standard of gender insecurity, explain?

In response to just egtting shot down with really OTT feeling **** after breakup thread

Insecurity and neutroticism aren't particualrly attractive traits for anyone, yet everyone has them, male or female.
However women can be more public abut this and get sympathy and a 'pick me up' . So for example the response to a girl thinknig she's ugly is actually 'no you're pretty reallY! believe in yourself!'

Men on the other hand mostly get shot down for these moments. Hence the first response to my last thread was I'm pathetic for even contemplating feeling this way.
I sense the message, 'If you feel you're not good enough for someone, you're probably not'.
Conventional advice for a man being dumped is

a) You weren't good enough for her after all, don't buy into the 'just be yourself' BS
b) Improve yourself until you're an equal or superior human being because you count little really

TSR may now argue the case I'm not a real man hence 'grow some balls'
