What should i do about dave

Hi TAM family...let me explain Dave..this may be a little wordy..sorry

Dave and I attend the same church, I have known Dave for over 10 years. Over the last year or so Dave and I have become what you
would call conversation buddies, but only at church after service.

Dave is married to a lovely woman for over 20 years with children. I am married with children, so this is strictly a friendship.

Dave and I usually share a friendly hug and then we strike up the most interesting conversations. We can talk all day long, but it usually last 10 minutes.

It is very clear that Dave thinks highly of me and I of him. He is a very intelligent well spoken man. He is the assistant to the Mayor of our city. He pulled strings on the last election to get me and my husband invited to a fundraiser held for the mayor. I could not attend due to work obligations. My husbandwent.

Fast forward... I later met some of Dave's political friends and the mayor at a different function. The only thing they spoke of was how much Dave talked about me. They were excited about meeting me just from hearing Jay's personal opinion of me.

Here is the problem... I do not think Dave's wife likes me any longer. She would talk to me on occasion, but lately things are
so awkward between us, so much I just avoid her if I can. I try not to talk to her husband as much, especially when she is around.

This is where I think things changed.

One day after service I avoided talking to Dave because he wife was around so I left. They left right after me. I drove away quickly so I would not see him. He caught up with me at a light and blew his horn, so I had to turn my head and speak. To my shock he said "hey sorry I missed getting my hug from you today so I am blowing you a kiss" in front of his wife. WHAT!!!!!!

What should I do? I do not want to stop talking to him and I do not think he meant anything by this.

Advise me please
