Spyware for iphone?

Yup - I'm that guy now. Awesome!! I'm considering loading my wife's iphone up with spyware - particularly for text messages. Any suggestions? Also, has anyone had luck retrieving deleted text (sms) messages from an iphone? I know you can pull from the itunes backup, but what if the iphone was backed up after the texts were already deleted?
