Wanting to do something nice for mother

Hey all Was looking for some advice on this.... I want to do something nice for my mother and have thought of something just want to know what others think of it..... There has been times of my life where I haven't spoken to my mother for years a time I always thought it was her but growing older I realised she did everything she could for us, my dad killed himself years ago and I can only now start to contemplate how hard it must have been..... I have been a **** at times and want to show my appreciation. My mother has always wanted to go to the Niagara falls but she would never be able to afford it, I am not rich at all but can save up for it which would take around 6 months so would do people think??
