Computer problem question

I have an HP desktop. In the past couple of days, the keyboard has been acting crazy. When I press keys, the control panel screen pops up, or any variety of other screens.

I can use my computer as long as I don't type. I can brows the web with the mouse, or click on desktop icons and it's good, but if I try to type in a word document, on youtube, google, or a forum, stuff starts popping up and acting crazy. It's as if the keyboard is set to perform other commands with a stroke of the keys instead of just type.

Has anyone else ever had this issue? Does the Fn key have anything to do with it?

If you had it to do all over again...

...knowing what you know now, would you still marry your current spouse? Would you stay with him/her?

Been with my SO for 5 years. He's a good man & we are an ok couple. We are planning to get married but have a lot to work on. Not sure our "broken" can be fixed. How do you know it's worth it to work it out?

I used to be head over heels for him but a lot has happened between us & I have a hard time letting my resentment go. How do you move forward? Honestly we'd both be sad if we split but life would go on for both of us.

Thank you.

Sex Is Just Sex

Fiance says sex makes him feel connection with me. I used to feel that way but no more. Porn, boundaries, body, respect & age issues have slowly turned those feelings off. If we are together (both travel a lot for work) I have no desire for him but can get in the groove once we get going.

How can I start wanting sex? I could just care less but understand he doesn't want to have a sex less marriage. I don't feel an emotional connection with him, but he is a good man & I would like us both to have our needs met. Just not sure we can give each other what we need.

Messedmarriage

Am 45, she is 36. Been married for 11 years ( she says 13) with 2 gals 10 and 8, my angels, my true love. I had suspected that she has been cheating until last Saturday when it hit me like a thunderbolt. Here is my story.

About a month ago, a friend of mine called me and enquired if we had changed our residence. I told her no, and wondered why she was asking. Well, she said she had spotted my wife's car severally parked in her apartment block which is like 5 km from my house. I told her to find out which flat she was visiting and after a day or so she called and confirmed that the flat she visited had single man as the occupier. Immediately I got a PI to help investigate. He came back to me with a full log of her mobile usage in the last one month, but this is not the normal phone bill. Instead this showed also the name of the nearest mobile phone transmitter station where her handset made or received the call, call duration, who it came from. So if she had been driving you can easily track her movement, how long she stayed in a particular location etc.

In that month she had visited the said house like 10 times. All visits were for periods of 2-6hours. Also they talked or smsed each other between 5-10 times a day. Almost everyday the first and last call would be to this contact. If I happen to have been at home it would be an sms. From the document it was clear to me a full blown relationship was ongoing. Then for the last one week, I was mainly at home. I studied this like 100page document to understand her movements and she was mostly at home also. So I had to really hide and take drives to be alone. The pain and sense of betrayal as I went through this arduous task was immense. She strutted around the house like a queen bee throwing silly snide remarks that a happy couple would normally engage in. She was of course oblivious of what I was doing behind her back. And you know what I even assumed maybe the affair had cooled off because the whole week she looked so at peace, so at home.

Then yesterday morning my world came crushing down. We had agreed that I would wake up early to drop my kids to a school event. Unfortunately I overslept and the bus left them so I had to drive to the event and take them. Then an hour or so later i get a call from my friend in the said apartment block telling me that my wife's car was parked there. I called her and she didn't pick(I think she was in the midst of the throes of vanquishing a one week old sexual starvation episode). She, however, called me half an hour later and though I could tell from the background noise that she was indoors, she cheated me that she was driving to check on the kids. She never went. Instead she remained there till 2-3pm and the kids were dropped back by the bus. She was very testy last night, pretending to be very tired(she probably was, actually) and avoided me by going to sleep with the kids( not like I cared at all). Today we have basically been robots, went to church and afterwards stayed indoors.

Initially I thought I will get the PI to install cameras and get video footage in the OM house but I don't really think that is necessary any more. Am planning to make my move this week. First I will ask her and am sure she will deny. She avoids having any kind of conversation with me and am sure she will run away from this one so am planning to call one of her friends as I break the news to her. I want to end this marriage forthwith. The house we are living in is a rental so I am happy to leave her in this house just so that I don't unfairly interrupt the kids life and education without a proper plan. I intend to leave by weekend so I must look for a house and furnish it. I don't want R and I actually don't think she is capable at all. The main thing to discuss is our kids, and that we can do when we are not sharing the same roof.

Good people at TAM, please help me sail through this storm. My heart is broken, but funny enough I feel some relief and calm that's confounding. Sorry for such a long post.

Why do married women do this?

So I know women who are married and unless their husbands are out of town, etc. they will literally not leave their side...one girl I know in the town where I live was into hiking with me before her wedding in May as well her H worked out of town prior..(I go abou 4 to 6 x per week, we have lovely trails in the town where we live)...well since her wedding and now that her hsuband is working in town zero interest.,,, (she was trying to lose weight for her wedding, I guess keeping in shape is not important now that the wedding is over)....

I ran into her in the store and she was like well time we get home from work and fix supper there is no time to go, even though I told her I could go later once in a while..... She also has a larger dog who stays in the house all day while they work so not fair to him in my opinion. I get the impression that she does not want to leave him to go for a 45 minute hike.

I know a few other women that have the same stance...if husband is home nope they can't go...

So I generally go by myself on average...I am glad that I don't rely on anyone else but geez...I don't get it...even when H is around home on his off week from work I still go in the evening/weekends etc....it is both good for me and my pup.

Seems to me so many women are scared to go somewhere without their spouses.....sometimes I wonder why they don't want to leave their husbands at home alone.....

What to Do with the Fat Wardrobe?

Over the last year and a half, I'm down from 212 to 175 and heading to 170. Waist has gone from 38 to 32. Shirts from XL to L.

So what to do with the fat clothes...I'm something of a pack rat so part of me says, keep them just in case;

While, the other part says get them the hell out of here so there's no going back. Kinda like cutting all the lifeboats loose so the crew has to stay on board to save the ship.

A bunch of suits have to be tailored...but maybe just get new ones? I'm thinking they won't look right anyhow after the fixes.

Anyone else been thru this? What did you do?

Any psychologists out there who can offer an opinion. What would you do?

Partner cheated

Hello everyone

I found out through Facebook that my partner of two years (we are not married) cheated on me for three months with a girl he met whilst flying back from a business trip.

The girl apparently had no idea he was in a relationship and told me that he said he was single and had been for a while. The strangest thing of all is he never slept with her, she has strong religious beliefs and said she would not have sex outside of wedlock. I have seen all their message exchanges where he is telling her "she is the woman of his dreams" how much he loves her and wants to marry her! He proposed to her several time in three months- she told me she declined each time as she felt it was too soon and he was really intense.

I don't understand why he did this - I gave him every thing he wants and needs and he wasn't getting anything from her. He has never proposed to me in two years yet he could propose to her several times in three months.

I don't know what to do. Do I forgive him as in his eyes he never really 'cheated' because they never had sex. Or do I leave him. He said he was confused and didn't know what to do.

Please advise.

Will you please just leave me alone

After my wife left the house to go to her moms and told me she didn't love me (and not much else) I spiraled out of control. Really bad. But after talking to several people I decided to pick myself up and get on with my life. I made an appointment to see a counselor for MYSELF. I have lost 20lbs due to stress. Turned that into a positive by buying some new clothes. I called every friend I knew who had a divorce and just talked. I was amazed at what I learned. I sat down with a friend who is a legal aid and she downloaded my State's Legal Dissolution and Separation Papers. She explained the steps of going through a divorce and my options about getting a lawyer or filing myself. I can not afford a lawyer (nor can she). My Sons special needs have pushed us to near financial ruin. I need some time to do the paperwork myself. I think it will take about 2 weeks. I found local divorce support groups and plan to go to them next week. Found some special intere st groups too, thinking about those but might not be ready for them. Haven't gone to work and don't know if I can return because I'm still not focused but I have 30 days worth of vacation and my boss is cool with me taking the time. I have been working on the house. For too long I have left things I don't like about it nag me. My plan is to fix what I can fix. Get rid of crap that we have collected over 24 years and sell the damn thing.

For the most part I have ignored my wife. I HAVE to communicate with her about financial matters and the children. Just business, No talking, texts or letters about the marriage. If she wants this marriage to end that is on her and I cant control it. My problem now is she won't LEAVE. She keeps coming back to the house and hanging out. I figure she just wants to hang out with the kids. But She keeps inviting me to join them. Asking if I want her to bring food for me. Going to her garden picking vegetables and giving them to me. I will not stand in the way of her and the children (One is 17 the other 22 but has special needs). She is their Mom and I want them to have a healthy relationship with them. She is now staying at her moms which is about 45 miles away. She wanted the kids for the weekend so I agreed to even meet her half way to get them so she wouldn't come to the house. I did not try to engage her at all. As I was about to drive away when she motions me to roll down t he window and casually like nothing has happened says, "hey I'll call you tomorrow I would like to watch the soccer game." Ugh! My first reaction is that I will just run errands while she is here. Then I get angry that I'm letting her dictate my actions. It's MY Sunday and I wanted to hang out around the house. I can't let her push me out of the house. She left, she has to deal with the consequences of leaving. Her mom's house has 5 bedrooms. It is okay with me if the kids want to stay out there. It is summer and it is a really nice house.

I wanted to watch the game too! But I don't want to sit on the same damn couch with her! She wants space to, "think" that is fine but She won't give me space to move on. I will have to confront her about boundaries but not looking for the drama. don't want to tip my hand yet about the divorce papers. I need to find out some information on our finances because she has done them the whole marriage. Right now I am focusing on being able to rent a nice little house with my children so they can stay in their schools and be by my family.

Fiance doesn't give blow jobs. Should I call of the wedding/

Ok maybe the title is a little extreme but that's how I feel right now. I've been dating an awesome woman for a year now and she made me wait 5 month before we had sex. She's 8 years younger than me and while I was previously married for 11 years, she has only had one other sexual relationship in her life. My last marriage ended due to infidelity on my ex's part and during the last 3 years of our marriage, we had sex less than 10 times. A sexless marriage sucks and that's not something I want to go through again. With all that being said, sex with my fiance has been good for the most part. It's mainly just been standard intercourse with me giving her oral sex. She never gave me blow jobs in the beginning and I never pushed the issue. Still, I wondered why she never did that since I would always happily go down on her. We were getting intimate last night and I told her to give me a blow job. She looked at me like I just stole the last apple and she said sh e doesn't do that. She said it was demeaning and she would never "put that thing anywhere near my face". She got so worked up about it that she killed the mood and made me leave her apartment. I've been texting her all day and she hasn't responded because she says she needs time to herself. I'm so upset because I don't think giving a blow job is demeaning but she is acting like I demanded a blood diamond from her. I don't know if it's just my emotions getting the best of me but I'm strongly considering cancelling the wedding and just moving on with my life. I figure that if she is dictating what is right and wrong at this stage of the relationship. I may be already headed towards another sexless marriage. Still, I'm confused about what to do because I really love her. Has anyone been in a situation like this before? Any advice would be appreciated.

Impossible To Win - Setup To Fail

I have spent a fair bit of time over on the ladies forum, reading about what a man should be. I have read many threads outlining how much sensitivity and dominance a man should have and what a good man does.

It's my opinion, that we are damned as men, and I am even more confused now after trying to educate myself.

Have you ever read any of these threads and not felt like you are generally failing at what you are expected to be? Or are these threads not a fair representation of reality?

I'm newish to posting and whatnot here. I have something called friedreich's ataxia, I am Wheelchair bound. My husband is my full time caregiver.

Most "normal" people don't/can't get it, so it'd be cool to get some tips/suggestions.

Super frustrating.

So many things run through my head about why we don't have much sex, is he bored? Is he not attracted to me any more? Is he unhappy? If i ask he tells me by asking like that makes maters worse? Why? What?

My Wife is leaning towards moving home / separation / divorce

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and after reading through a number of posts, I've decided to share my story in hopes of getting some advice and support.

I'm 38 and my wife is 31. We've been together for almost six years and married almost three. Last September / October, we moved across the country (from Ontario to Alberta) so that I could accept a new job (my dream job). Without getting specific about what I do, there are only 30 jobs in the world and it's a public, fairly high-profile position. I started working (volunteering) in this field when I was 18 years old, and after spending almost two decades climbing the proverbial ladder, I finally reached my career goal last year.

On our first date, I told my to-be wife what I did for a living and what my career goals were. I also told her that with only 30 jobs in the world, I needed to be with someone who would be willing to move, potentially across the country or maybe even to the U.S., if there was an opportunity. She was on board...or at least she said that she was, or was at the time.

In the next few years, I interviewed for two jobs and didn't get either. I was starting to believe that I was never going to achieve my career goals, and I suspect that she was, too. Last summer, a job opened up and she encouraged me to apply for it. I did, with little hope that I would be successful. After I interviewed for the position, she started to change. Suddenly, she wasn't sure that she was willing to make the move. After much discussion, I told her that I would remove myself from consideration. Her response was that she wanted me to get the job and wanted to move. So, I went for the second interview and was offered the job. When I told her, she flipped out. We had some pretty intense discussions and at one point, I said that after everything that had been said, if she didn't let me accept the offer or didn't go with me, it COULD be the beginning of the end for us. That may have been the case, but I certainly wasn't threatening her. After much more discus sion, she agreed to let me accept the job and make the move. Our next hurdle was telling her parents. My Wife is very close with her Mom and Dad. When we went to their house, I was ambushed. Her Mom and her Dad started screaming at me, calling me selfish and saying that I didn't care about anybody but myself. They just couldn't understand why I would want to move away from family and friends and out of our new house for a job. They said it was "just a job". Obviously, I didn't and never will see it that way.

Luckily, my Wife, who also has a good career, was transferred by her employer to the same position in our new city. They even gave her a cost-of-living increase, which was great. We travelled to our new city and purchased a house, even nicer than the one that we had just built and sold. Everything seemed to be falling into place.

The first few months that we were in Alberta, my wife seemed content. Not happy, but content. She was really trying to establish roots by trying to make new friends through work, volunteering at the SPCA and through meet-ups. She really tried. In hindsight, I probably should have told her how much I appreciated her sacrifice and how much I appreciated how hard she was trying to make it work. Things started to change around January. Even though she was doing the same job for the same company, she wasn't (isn't) as happy at work. She said there is a different "vibe" and that because we are in a larger market, people are more "cut-throat". There isn't the same community in her office in Alberta as their was in Ontario. She would come home upset almost every day. That has been one of our problems.

Another major problem is how much I have to travel for work. While I'm pretty much off all summer, from October through April or May, I am away a lot. On average, I am home (not working at home or traveling for work) 12 or 13 days a month. My Wife keeps telling me how lonely she is, even when I'm here. Even though she swore that she wouldn't resent me for accepting the job and moving across the country, she does...she's admitted it. Moving away from family and friends is hard, but on top of that, she's built a wall around herself and won't let me in. So, not only does she not have her family and friends close by, she is keeping me at arms-length. For months, it has felt more like we are roommates or friends as opposed to Husband and Wife.

I thought things were getting better and was really looking forward to my time off from work so that I could take some things off of her plate around the house and so that we could re-connect as a couple, meet new friends that would give her a support system now, and more importantly, when I go back to work. But since I've been home, things have been worse. She keeps saying that it doesn't matter what happens during the summer because I'm gone all winter. We recently went on vacation to the same place that we went from our honeymoon and other than sitting by the beach or the pool and eating meals together, she didn't want anything to do with me. I would just sit in the lobby bar by myself every night. With that said, I was trying to be supportive and understanding. A couple of days before we left, she had a panic attack at work. I took her to the hospital and they prescribed her medi cation for anxiety / depression. She has been on them for a few weeks now and seems t o be calmer. She also seems a lot colder.

We have been to see a marriage counsellor a couple of times in the last month. The first time we went, my Wife finally admitted that she is angry at me for taking the job and moving. When the counsellor asked her what I could do to make her happier here, she said she didn't know. She also admitted that she had stopped trying to make it work in Alberta and wanted to move back to Ontario. When the counsellor asked me if I was willing to do that, I told her that I didn't think that was the answer because if I give up the job that I worked so hard for, I would only resent my Wife worse than she resents me for taking it and moving here. It would also leave me - and potentially her - without jobs. We would go from both having good / great careers to being unemployed and from being quite secure financially to broke and living in her parents' basement.

Since then, we've had some really good discussions and some really bad arguments. She has said things like "I love you, but I'm not in love with you anymore", "I just want to live a normal life, I don't want to be the wife of a public figure", "I don't want to end our marriage but I don't know if I can or want to live this lifestyle anymore".

Almost everybody that we've talked to - counsellors, family members and friends, have told her that it takes a lot more than eight or nine months to start to get over homesickness and feel more comfortable. I think she gets that, but I'm not sure she wants to or is willing to keep trying.

I caught her in a couple of lies last week, although I must admit that me trying to wrap my head around what is happening led me to do something that I now regret. I couldn't help but wonder if there was someone else. I looked through the messages on my Wife's iPad and found out that she had asked her company about a position in Ontario and that she had gone to the bank. When I asked her if she had started looking for another job, she said no. When I asked her if she had an appointment at the bank, she again said no. She later admitted that she had lied. Until last week, trust was never an issue in our relationship. Now, it is for me because I caught her in a couple of lies and because I looked through her iPad. She never had a problem with me looking on her iPhone or iPad before - and the same went for my phone and tablet. Now, she said that because I did that, she doesn't feel comfortable in her own house.

On Thursday, she texted me to say that she was going to stay in a hotel this weekend. Naturally, this raised a red flag with me. She said that she was doing it to get away from my Dad (he's in town visiting and they've had some uncomfortable discussions about what's happening), and to get away from all of the conflict and tension so that she can think. She swears that she hasn't cheated on me.

Before she left yesterday, we had a really constructive three-hour chat. We were both very calm and level-headed. She told me about all of the things that have and continue to bother her. In addition to being so far from her family and friends, she also has some issues with me. There are no major issues, but a number of minor ones. She said that if we lived in Ontario, the issues wouldn't be as big of a deal and certainly wouldn't have her considering separation / divorce. She feels like because of my career, she's had to give up so much of who she is - mainly the relationships with her family and friends. By the way, she has flown back to Ontario four or five times since we moved to Alberta, her Mom has been here twice, her Dad and Grandma have een here once.

At the end of our conversation, I asked her what her best-case scenario was. Her response was saving the marriage and finding a way to be happy and live a fulfilling life here, with me. She added that she didn't know if she could do it.

I believe that my wife loves me...I just don't know if she loves me enough to make the sacrifices necessary to stay here. I have told her that we may not be here forever. Things change. A lot of things can happen in the field that I work in. And who knows, if we get our marriage back on track and decide to start a family, which is really important to both of us, maybe I will decide that my job keeps me away from my Wife and kids too much, and change careers. I don't know what the future holds professionally. Personally, I love my wife with all of my heart. She is my best friend. I want to save our marriage and rebuild our relationship so badly. The thought of losing her kills me.

I don't know what to think or what to do or not to do. Any experiences, guidance and advice would be much appreciated!

So... Did you get your...well, you know... on Independence Day?

(One of the board censors sent me a "warning" not too long ago telling me I had a BJ-fixation and to no longer post BJ polls. So, this isn't a BJ poll.)

But, the question still remains... Did your significant other grant your willie independence from your trousers today? While there were fireworks outside, did you see stars while your roman candle was shooting in the bedroom on Independence Day?
