Guys: If a girl called you "average" or "moderately handsome"?

  • Thread Starter

Inspired by the other recent thread about how girls would react to being called "moderately pretty" by a guy. I'm curious as to whether the type of response differs between sexes.

Personally, I'd continue about my day as normal if someone called me average. I'd love to be called moderately handsome though. That'd make me feel good :D

Daddy Issues - Jamaican Men are unfaithful!

  • Thread Starter

Am I right in saying that most Jamaican men are unfaithful and are only in it for the sex and the money. I speak from experience, my father is of Jamaican descent.

My father used my mother for her money and her standing in society just to create a name for himself, eventually when he mucked everything up he moved on to his next prey. This man so to speak this man is meant to send my mother child support every month but he gets involved in all kinds of crooked deals (stealing) and the most he has ever sent this past year is no more than 35 pounds. Having heard several similar other stories about Jamaican men, I'm starting to think it's true. I'm not saying that they are the only type that cheat and are interested in money but this is some next level bull****.

In addition, my mother had 10 girl children but I am the (girl) child that survived. My father has always wanted a boy child, so, that's what he got...With another woman.

History lesson:
The typical Jamaican family is matriarchal whereby the woman is the breadwinner and the man does whatever the F he want to do. It is also seen to be quite prestigious to have a "son" just like all those other backward societies that don't appreciate the girl child.

NB: It is a fact that Jamaican men tend to also be quite abusive

Lately I've reading about pheromones and I'd hate to be attracted to men like my father, it is simply appalling. And yes, I've shied away from dating simply because I can't be hurt again. I mean it's only a fool that makes the same mistake twice and expects the same results.

The reason I posted it in the relationship forum is to seek advice on whether I am making a generalisation and whether I will find myself in the same predicament.

I have a staring issue.

  • Thread Starter

Basically when I like a guy I just stare at them like whenever I get the chance and they aren't looking. I'm not like other girls which would go up to a guy and flirt and stuff. Is this normal? Does anyone else do this? :S

Being built/muscular?

Can some of you girls explain what exactly you mean by desiring a boy who is "built"? Are we talking 6 packs or something else entirely?

does it really matter?

  • Thread Starter

I have 101 stretch marks all over my body and Im very self conscious about them. I've only done anything sexually in the dark and avoided certain activists going down in the day time. Also I occasionally get razor bumps, I've tried everything but my skin is so sensitive..obviously I would avoid contact during these times.. I have skin discolouration in certain places too, which bugs the hell out of me...

My question is.. Does it matter?? Do guys notice these things??

Considering divorce, again.

I have been married for just over four years now. My husband emotionally abused me off and on for about three years (my therapist at the time helped me to see this); I lost track of reality at one point (ridiculous thing to have to admit to ... him + postpartum depression) - he was always accusing me of cheating, tracking me via phone, getting mad at me if I spent money or went anywhere, even when I was pregnant. I believed he was cheating on me last year - he says I'm crazy and that he was just watching too much porn, but I don't know.

We are complete opposites, and I know I have my issues too; I have a tendency to undervalue myself and my needs, I have low self esteem and try to make him happy at the cost of my own happiness, and I have allowed myself to become really angry and cold. I try to give him what he wants and then I just get mad at him and myself for it - I know that isn't fair, but I keep doing it. I can't seem to let go of things that happened in the past and bring them up often (I know I'm not supposed to do that!). I think I've become passive-aggressive. I HATE myself for becoming a worse person.

Anyway, a year ago almost to this day, he realized that he was being mean and that he was always angry and he decided to change. Funny enough, it was literally a week after I had made plans to leave him. And he has - he isn't always angry but we still can't talk about issues. The good things: he tries to talk to me, he looks at me like he loves me, he has been being a better dad to our kids.

Things seem to be making progress, but we can't have conversations without fighting, we don't understand each other, and while the sex is fantastic, there very rarely is love there...but that might be more on me now. Now I am the one who is closed off. I have asked him to go to counseling with me, and he says he will (and promises to not make a joke of it like the first time we tried) but I have yet to see him make the appointment or even talk about it.

And I think I'm still mad at him for asking me to renew my vows with him, then making me feel progressively guilty about it whenever I would want to talk about it, and then ultimately deciding that we won't go through with it.

Anyway, is staying and trying worth it? Or should I cut and run? Thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Where to start...

Ok, I am new to posting and just joined. I have read the posts for along time and can appreciate the honesty that is shared here. So, that being said, please do not hold back on the honesty without being nasty.
I have been married for almost 4 years and we have 2 D's. My H is a great man and works very hard. I love him with all my heart but am not sure what is going on with our marriage. We have sex a lot and I love the closeness of us together. This is not my problem. He seems distant most days and only affectionate and touchy feely when he wants to have sex. When we do have sex it is not satisfying. I tried to talk to him about this several times but he is not the kind of man that likes to talk about sex openly or any aspect of it unless it is at an awkward time, like during the act. He will randomly ask what is something I fantasize about and wouldn't want to tell him because I may be uncomfortable or worried about his reaction. Its nice he wants to know, just not at this moment!! He is always willing to receive oral sex but rarely gives it and when he does it is not like you would expect, a light gentle touch. It is like a gamer with a joystick!! I have not had an orgasm in mont hs unless I take things in my own hands. I always try to make sure he enjoys himself and that I am doing what he would like. I feel as though he doesn't care if it is mutual. He gets very defensive when I tell him I enjoyed the sex but did not O and sex is obsolete for a few days or weeks and then he seems very timid or over willing to try(joystick issue again). I am not sure if trying to guide him would go over well since he is so hesitant to talk about this kind of stuff or not. I am finding I want sex with him less and less for the end result. I have had trouble becoming aroused for a long time now because of this stuff. Any help would be super appreciated!!

Lost and needing real help

I'm going to admit its been quite a while since I've been on here, let alone posted anything. Its now been a full year my wife and I have been separated and yet to divorce. I'm military stationed overseas and she doesn't want to return home (not because of me, but from friends she's made and both kids are in a really good local school). I tried to move out a few months ago and she was supposed to find a small place for herself, but as usual she splurged what money she had on BS and ended up moving in with me. I've tried on countless occasions to give her her time and space as she requested, but it never worked out to be more than just a few days at a time where I'd stay in a hotel. I've greatly improved who I was yet still do struggle in some aspects such as my anger. Now I'm not talking anything violet but things can set me off quite easily, but I've been going to a group to try and work on it.

Most common mistake I've made is here and there we'd talk, something would spark the conversation and it, or I would lead it down the road of giving us a chance. We are great friends and the way we talk, treat and think of each other are no different than a married couple. Except the only thing missing with us is the "marriage" part, and physical aspect, holding hands, kissing, sleeping together. I keep thinking there are things I can do to make it better, but I usually end up failing and it back fires in my face. I bought her a 200eruo bracelet a month ago and (although I don't care that much) she hasn't told anyone she received it from me; namely the people who know our situation. I have so much **** going through my head I cant tell what is up and down anymore. She has said several times its over and she wants a divorce, but she hasn't even looked into Step 1. I don't know if its because doing so would void her visa and she'd have to head back to the states…or the more unlikely notion, she's not 100% sure she wants to divorce. She has said a few times maybe things can work, but than in the same conversation, she retracts the statement. I love her dearly, and don't want to "let go", not to mention our kids, but that's a given. And for me she is the most important thing in my life.

I find myself looking at dating sites wondering if I should try to date since I know she has (not as revenge/jealous act), I find myself almost wanting just that feeling of someone enjoying being around me. Wife sends such ****ed up mixed signals, I feel like I'm walking on eggshells with her, not knowing if my next comment or topic will lead to an argument.

I guess what's why I'm typing here. I really have almost no one I can really talk to, and I just really want to vent and get my thoughts and emotions out there.

New Here, Facing a Walk Away Wife

Hi everyone. I'm 40 years old, have been married for almost 15 years and have 4 children. About 3 years ago my wife began going to a gym. Now she works there and spends almost every waking moment there. Last summer she told me she wasn't sure if she wanted to stay married because "she never loved me as much as I loved her." I did all the wrong things--chased her etc. Anyway, later in the fall I caught her chatting with guys online and then she lied about it and tried to hide it, but I found that out too. The texts weren't overtly sexual, but definitely flirty. She told me it was because she didn't love me as much as I love her, etc. I have been twisting in the wind for months now. Today I finally told her that she has to make a decision. Either recommit to investing in the family or end the relationship. I did this via text message. She didn't respond and when she got back she acted like nothing happened. I think she thinks I'm bluffing, but I'm not. I'm just so confused. I have a good job (tenured professor) we have a nice home and wonderful kids. She has emotionally abandoned us all. I don't know what to do. Any advice? Insights? Anything? Thanks

He doesn't want a divorce

I have expressed to my husband that I wanted a divorce for several times now, starting less than 2 years ago. However, he keeps promising me this and that and somehow always reels me back in.

My husband believes that the main reason of me wanting divorce is that his family (mom and brother) live with us and have caused so many problems and now trying to fix the problems by trying to find a place for them (but they don't want to leave). Yes they're the reason I wanted divorce but there's more.. Long story short, I haven't been happy with my husband, I actually became depressed while with him. I don't see myself happy if I stay with him. My husband also promised me that he will change and make me happy. I am not convinced.

I am in Canada and according to prov law I need to be separated for a year to be able to file for a divorce. I don't have money to get my own place (and I don't want to waste money by renting), so to get things going, I moved to basement of my own house few weeks ago and try to not talk to my husband unless it's necessary.

We have a 15 month old boy. I am also starting work in 2 weeks and hopefully in 6 months I will have enough money and courage to hire a good lawyer.

In the meantime, is there anything else I could do? How do I convince my husband to divorce me? I feel trapped.. Thanks for reading

Should I give the relationship another go?

  • Thread Starter

Apologies in advance for the long paragraph...
about a year ago I ended a six month relationship with a guy because it just wasn't working. I loved him and loved being with him but we were both really shy people and it got to the point where he was scared to initiate anything, even kissing sometimes... I wasn't much more confident and I felt that the relationship wasn't going anywhere and I ended it.
a few weeks ago I saw him again for the first time in ages and all my feelings came rushing back (as cringey as that sounds). We've been messaging ever since and I've heard that he wants to get back with me but I'm kinda scared that it'll just end up the same as last time - I know I'm more confident now, but I don't know if he is?
should I give it another go? Surely it means something if we've still got feelings for each other after all this time?
advice pleeaaaaase...

i want to be friends, he wants more. Help?!

  • Thread Starter

This guy i've met recently told me that he was interested in me and could see himself liking me. I told him that i wasn't interested in him in that way, but we have good fun together, so could we just be friends? To which he replied that he could never see us just being friendly with one and other. He also admitted that his ego was to big to be 'friendzoned' and that it would be humiliating for him. Essentially we either have to be dating or nothing at all.
What should I do? i have thought reasonably had about this and i could never see us dating. Is he trying to emotionally blackmail me into going out with him?
Any advise would be much appreciated.

Young men: Do you want good self-esteem? Do not bid in the Sexual Marketplace.

  • Thread Starter

I am 23 years old. I am a male and surprisingly enough, I am not a virgin. I recently discovered most if not all of my insecurities or feelings of not measuring-up was linked to impressing or gaining the approval of women. You have to ask yourselves, is it worth it? I mean. Let's say you get an attractive girl: don't you get the feeling of living on shaky ground? As if, at any time, it can end? Even if you do get a girl you like, will the sex be worth all that effort? I'm being serious. In terms of effort and time, was the juice worth the squeeze?

This is just something that has been on my mind for a while. It will be difficult to suppress your hormonal urges but I think there is a strong case to be made about opting out and improving oneself; living ones life without jostling for questionable rewards. Sex is not your salvation and it is overvalued. Do not worship the religion of sex: it is a false idol.

i love this girl, but we're nonexistent to each other

  • Thread Starter

Have you ever looked at someone, such as a celebrity, or some random picture on the internet of someone and instantly fell in love? I know, I know, it's sad as hell...

But I absolutely LOVE this girl (pornstar) I honestly don't know what it is, but I think of her literally everyday. Why is this happening? WHY!?!? It's been like a year, it's really frustrating. You know when you love someone so much, you wish you'd never see them, because you weren't with them? Like you never new they existed? Why cant I get rid of this girl? I don't know how you can "fall in love" with someone you NEVER knew, but you know what I mean? Like, you cant fathom it. (for those wondering who this girl is, it's Megan Salinas) She's Mexican, born in texas. Just google 'megan salinas' and you'll see her twitter (megansalinasxxx)

I've never met this girl, but just looking at her is just too much..
Seriously, it's killing me inside, especially that she's a pornstar, knowing tons of guys have penetrated her. look her up and tell me she ain't hot, huh!
