What kind of students take science/maths A-levels?

  • Thread Starter

So A-levels are starting soon. And it's my first year in England, and, apparently, my first year at college.
I'm come from an American Diploma system, so you can imagine how is it culturally different. So, I usually hang around with people who have interest in science, we go to lectures, talks and such stuff about science. That's being said, I'm wondering what kind of students take science/maths biology. Is it the type that their parents want them to be doctors so that's why they're taking science? Or is it the type that is inspired to be a scientist or so? Or is it the one that's only joking around and want to have fun? Or is it a mix of all of them?

Thanks for your time.

Does he like me or just friends

  • Thread Starter

Hi guys..would appreciate your thoughts on this

Theres a guy from work who I really like – known him for about a year, both 25. When I first met him I didn't really fancy him and thought he was quite arrogant and abit over confident. Also I was with my ex bf up until March of this year. He also broke up with his girlfriend around the same time. We are both single atm

I can't quite figure him out. Hes very confident so I think if he did like me in that way, he would have probably asked me out by now. I don't think he is overly flirty with me but I do feel quite nervous around him. We are both from a similar cultural background (though different religions) and get on well. I am definitely attracted to him

I organised a work drinks for some of us a couple of weeks ago. The only ones who could make it in the end were me and him as a few were ill and some cancelled... We still met up despite that it was only going to be us 2...but it wasn't a far out journey or out of either of ours way or anything. We had a nice time, but I'm not sure if it was just friendly or could be something more. His flatmate was out as well so we sat with them for a little while and then they left. Then it was just me and him... good conversation. He ALWAYS asks me about my love life and if I'm seeing anyone etc and we are generally quite open and know about each other exs etc so I can't figure out if he is just being friendly. He also asked me what my type was
We didn't stay out for too long as had work the next day. He gave me a hug goodbye and that was that...he didn't try anything

Anyways I'm just having a hard time figuring out if he does like me in that way or just as friends. He is very confident, so I reckon if he DID then he would have asked me out/ made a move. The only other thing is that we are both culturally similar so mayb he would actually want to ask me out properly.. So confusing
Thanks for reading

Seriously, I couldn't make this up

A little bit of a back story, my STBX walled out 7 weeks ago after almost 4 yrs of marriage and 6+ years together. He has only seen our about a handful of times and he is autistic high functioning. We had a blended family of 2 his,7D,11S 2 mine,18S,14D then our son. My oldest has been off at college and my 14D has gotten a single text from him since he walked. Tney were really close and that really hurt.
I have been working the 180, seeing my therapist weekly, going to different events around the area with the kids, exercising, even getting the okay from my doc to go back to work part time w limits but I was so happy. I needed to get "the talk" over with my STBXH, it seemed to go well he had his children w him, who I have missed so much. We talked about how he needed to step up more and see our son, some bills that had to be taken care of. That we would pay for the S with the tax return and he even talked to my 14D which at the time made her smile.
My STBXH kids were asking to stay the night, they missed thier older siblings and younger brother. I agreed, little did I know.
Little did I know that their mom and stepdad recently S. That their Mom had been staying at the house of my MIL on/off for the last few weeks w my STBX. They showed up at my house a minute apart to get the kids. My family member called me to tell me about the above again bc earlier he denied anything was going on.
Then he told me that he always has had feelings for her (even though the whole time we were together he couldn't stand her and was always trying to get the kids from her and she really lives like a slob) He lied and has at leasr been having an EA for months. Nobody in his family said anything to me, even when I was at a function with them a week ago.
My 14D is crushed she doesn't understand how someone can do what he did, she thinks that he is two-faced, scum bag and she is no better bc they have both hurt so many ppl. I just hope that in the long run it doesn't effect the way she views relationships, her bio dad cheated to.
Monday I need to file for a D, I really need to gain some self back bc he has taken so much from me already.

Don't know what to call this but...AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I am in a bit of a predicament. My H and I have not gotten along for quite some time. Things go well some days and terrible other days. Some days I think I have got to get away from this. Then we will have a few good days and I think "ya know this is not so bad." This seems to be an endless cycle. It is driving me crazy, literally.

My H and I have been in T for 2 years and things have improved greatly, but things are starting to backslide. There are several things that concern me. I haven't worked in 17 years, I/we have 3 kids, and it has always been our agreement that I would stay at home until our last child no longer was so dependent on me.

The other thing that concern me are superficial. They are just hard to walk away from. We have been married for 20 years, my H is a deacon in the church, our house is paid for, and we finally have the land like we have always dreamed. We stick built our new house 4 years ago. Our house and land are paid for. We have the perfect set up for the future, but there may be no future.

Things just have not been good for a real long time and I am nt so sure I can stay. When things are good I can stay, but when things are like this I just can't stay. I don't know how I am gonna tell my H, I don't know how I will tell the kids, the church, my family. Man this is gonna be difficult. I don't know for sure I am doing the right thing. But I am pretty sure I am doing thr right thing. I struggle every day. He tries to convince me I am the problem, I am difficult to live with, that he gives me the world. I am the bad one. But that is so not true. And of course you have no reason to believe my opinion and how I see things. We all see our own side of the story. He has been so abusive in the past, verbally and emotionally. He belittles me, he power trips me, the kids dread when he comes home, and are happy when he leaves. I do know I am doing the right thing. It is just so hard to believe.

My T is helping me find some decent lawyers. I plan on visiting a few in the coming weeks to find out which ones seem to meet my needs the best. In the mean time, I am just going to be hanging in here silently hoping I do not feel the need to escape before I get to talk t lawyers.

I don't feel like I have the stregnth to live in the same house with him if things take a turn for the worse. I don't think I can stand up for my self against him. All I can do at the moment is hang tight and go off by my self and like an injured dog lick my own wounds.

I don't know what to call this thread. I am seeking no help from you guys I suppose. I guess I mostly need support. Support form folks I have come to know in the past few months. Thank you for listening and taking the time to read this.

By the way I do accept prayers from others. All I can pray for for myself is that the Lords will be done and that God will grant me the ability to accept his will.

Terrible night...what does this mean????

At my wits end.
I am truly hoping there are those out there who can help me figure that out. Or at the very least, offer feedback so as to keep my from going insane with this stuff.

Quick synopses:
Wife very LD. I am HD. Has stated that sex has simply never been a "high priority" for her. Stated that sex "has always stressed her out". She has BPD – and with it - the ever present irrationality, rage, blame, and all the unpredictability that ensues.

Sex over the years…started good. Albeit I was far more experienced and freer with my sexuality and truly enjoyed an entire life of wonderful sex and intimacy. At first, she seemed so happy like she was brought into a world of color. That said, I really loved her and she …to this day…does something to me that no other woman has. I still desire her as much today (if not more) than long ago.

So fast forward.
Sex soon after marriage and kids, began to seriously take a turn. Frequency fell off dramatically. She indeed did showcase a lack of desire and as she mentioned it was not even on the radar to some degree. That said – we continued to have sex AND we were both enjoying it. In fact, WHEN we had sex..even if she did not seem to be fully there at first…she really got there during.

I have ALWAYS been the one who needed to initiate. She would NEVER …since day one.
This was the first time I had ever experienced that to such a dramatic degree. I talked about it – and she just said that I would have to…she just could not. SO …I did. And over the years…I was thus rejected …more …and more…
In fact – it seemed like I was set up to be somewhat "controlled" that way.

I was the one who wanted a wonderful and happy and intimate sex life. (she would at least SAY she agreed)
SHE, because of ME being the one who initiated, suggested, asked seemed to be the one who thus controlled the when and if.
We even went thru a point where she actually took sex off the table all together. (painful time).

I hung in there. I do love her. I do want us to stay together.
But this became truly unbearable. In fact, while the no sex was almost impossible to accept and deal with, the lack of affection, touch, kindness and appreciation. Was excruciating. She vaguely stated that there was none of that forthcoming, so as to not wrongly signify an overt or purposed lead up to sex.
So…about half a year ago…I (even to me) found myself at wits end. I really found myself calmly coming to a realization that I could not go on this way. Did not want to end my marriage or my family. But was equally at a point that something had to happen.

And then?
She reintroduced sex back into our marriage. (huh??)
I was happy…but there was a part of me that was thrown a bit if not a bit angry.
So..just like that? What? So, WHY could we not have found a way to get back to here far before now?
But here is the thing.

The VERY first time after it was back on the table that I then initiated…I was met at best with a hesitant or reluctant ok.

The second time (weeks apart) She said that I was now "pushing"…or "pressuring". (WHAT!?)

To be clear…I do NOT do that.
In fact…have learned that the very best way to initiate is the most subtle possible. It almost has to be that I cannot showcase "too much" desire. I try to put it hardly out there. Text. Suggest maybe dinner out. Etc. I suppose part of it is as well to reduce the all too often pain of rejection.

So we have continued to have some sex. (average of couple times a month) BUT…it has to be HIGHLY orchestrated and almost "by accident".

She has resumed the NO initiation again. SO…I am left to do that.
In the first few months…she was open enough to even quasi initiate so much as to meet the suggestions for a nice weekend or night with some dialog or interest.

Then…it became a situation where …if we made love at one point…and it was a nice time. Enjoyable time away..etc…IF a couple weeks even later I suggested we do again…was met with anger. Suggestion that "we JUST did"…."it's never enough"…"I knew this would happen"…."you are pressuring me"…

Now let me be REALLY clear again. I do not and have not EVER pressured for sex. So THAT is a really tough statement to hear. AND I clearly wince each time.

SO ---all this leads me up to the recent incidence I need some people to help me understand or dissect.

We were "in agreement" to have sex about 2 weeks ago one night. AS we go to the night…she announced she was too tired. I said ok (was disappointed) but let it go. She said how about tomorrow night.
Tomorrow night arrives -I suggest we go out to a nice dinner.
As the day goes on…she seems bent on us getting into an argument. Any argument. About ANYTHING…
I avoid it..so she simply makes and issue up to get angry at me. Preposterous at that. But – you guessed it…dinner she calls off. And so – is any possibility of sex.

Fast forward to last night.
We had a REALLY nice day together. (rare in a BPD world). Went out to lunch at a favorite place. Took a walk. Had a great time talking about us, future, etc…Was truly great…close. Even held hands and kissed a bit. We told each other how much we loved one another etc. This continued thru the day.
Later on way home…I suggested we carve out some time for us later.
She said "OK. But I won't want to if I wind up tired later".
I inside was thinking "what?" Now predicting tired? But I let it go and said something like "ok…if so we at some point really should try to figure out a way we can find time for us when not so tired"
Anyway – the early evening came.
I finished all the tasks for the day …picked up and shuttled the kids here and there..came home and she said she needed wine. So I headed BACK out to get some. (my wife …from day ONE …has ALWAYS needed alcohol when having sex. I have asked – and she has stated that "sex has always stressed her out".."alcohol reduces her stress")
I return with it.
Eventually she heads up to bed.
I follow shortly afterward.
We lie in bed and talk about anything she wants to for over an hour. (this is ALWAYS the case. IF I make a move "to soon"..she get angry. It is almost as though sex needs to be NOT overtly stated. IN some odd way I cannot SHOW my desire to her. (Which is a complete mystery to me as ME HAVING desire for her I would think would be a good thing(???)
Anyway…usually the sex starts with me eventually starting to caress or begin to take her top off. I am a very attentive lover so I do not rush into anything and she eventually does get very responsive.
This night..after talking about things…she states that "she is not going to be able to "be there" tonight"…
"too stressed.."…
I asked her why she was stressed? Then she dropped the horrible statement on me. " I feel pressured"…."I am not into it tonight…for whatever reason"..
And I was REALLY nice about it. But she would not STOP being really angry and almost made up pissed. And saying some really nasty things. I kept asking what is wrong? Why are you stressed? WHAT in the world could I have possibly done to make you feel pressure?
I also at least said …"I do not feel that I did anything wrong. I had a great and intimate day with you…I felt GREAT feelings for you…and I wanted to make love to you"…
Her answer? "you just need a release"…."you are like all men"…
I was really shocked at this stuff. But I stayed calm and said…"what is driving this"?
She said that she decided she was not "in a good spot to have se" and that I need to respect that.
I said I really do respect that..I do NOT want to if she does not. But WHY all this ugliness? WHY or WHAT or HOW could she possibly feel like I did anything wrong or caused her to feel pressure??
I asked "when did you feel pressure"?
She said …"the moment you first asked".

SO – everyone – PLEASE help me with this…
SHE will not initiate. I am left to do that. I HARDLY ask anywhere NEAR the frequency commiserate when I feel sexual or desire her.

I am VERY careful to ONLY suggest when there MIGHT be a possibility.

I am turned down – or excuses are eventually made/arguments manufactured approximately 90% of the time even at that.
SO …PLEASE …if anyone –especially any women can weigh in on what this is.
My sanity is at stake...(said only partly in jest...)

slapping

I havnt been the greatest boyfriend to my girl. I have lied alot in our 3-4 years together. The problem now is she wont believe me so for the first time in our relationship she has slapped me after a few rows. I mean she really lost it because she caught me out on another lie.

She was crying lots and slapped my face a few times hard. Is this physical abuse because we were dating for so long and this is the first time she has acted out.

How to bring it up? Is this the end?

Short version is likely best as the long version is very LONG!

Fell in love with my wife 13 years ago. We were both very much in love. After meeting her I knew she was the only one for me from then on. She felt the same. 5 years later we married.

Her mother lived with us and was a pain. But family is family. Unfortunately, the arguing between the 3 of us got to a point where my wife decided she needed some emotional support outside the marriage.

I caught her red handed. It's a sight and feeling I'll never forget. My friend told me not to make any big decisions, no buying a car, house or making babies. I've seen on other posts that this is the advice most get. This was 4 years ago.

She went from being sorry and in tears to blaming me in a matter of a week. I said I was leaving, I couldn't live in that apartment anymore. I said she could come but that things would have to change. She wanted to come.

We moved and things started to get better. Her mother made things worse. Fighting was now mostly between them. I decided to work on myself, my health, my mind. I started reading more. For 4 years though, I made an effort to rebuild the relationship. I made the effort by setting the mood for dates, planning a vacation which was spontaneous. It seems like I was at the front of everything and she was just along for the ride while it lasted.

Finally, in May, I told my wife I felt like I was a babysitter and a paycheck. Quite often when we would argue she would always bring things around to 'how hard she works at work'. This was not the topic I was on, I was talking about us as a couple. She managed to maneuver around those issues and I let it happen. This time I didn't and I saw a slight bit of fear. Whether that was she was losing her babysitter / paycheck OR actual fear of losing someone she loves, I don't know. Over the course of a week some positive proactive changes happened, although small, it all has to start somewhere.

At the end of that week, her mother died. She was sick for a long time. I took care of her most of the time. Work wise, I work fewer hours but make more money. So it was easier for me to do most of the hospital visits, or ambulance rides etc.

Last month I had an operation, minor, abdominal hernia. The hospital had said she would have to be there on the day they explained the procedure, the day I checked in, and the day of the operation (I don't live in the West, although I'm a westerner. Where I live, this is how this time of procedure is handled).

My wife's reaction was "I don't know if I can take time off work." This made me angry. I asked my best friend and without hesitation he said of course. He did complain about my wife and, knowing more of our past than most, said that it was time to move on.

A few weeks ago during an argument, she said she is more focused on money than anything else. She has been the person in charge of finances for most of our marriage. How we don't have any savings and why it is that with our combined income of more than most of our friends doesn't allow us to live stress-free is beyond me.

When it comes to household chores, I do what I think is a good job. I'm not always on the same page as her, but I get things done. However, when things aren't done at her pace, I'm suddenly someone who 'doesn't care.' I always say 'If something needs to be done, and you don't see me doing it, just ask and I'll get it done.' Her answer is 'I don't want to have to ask.' which to me is odd (Please let me know if this is me being an idiot).

However, when it comes to sex, I'm always the one who initiates and even then, it doesn't happen most of the time. I don't expect to get it every week or even month, but there's ZERO effort on her part and has been that way since before she cheated. So, I have to ask...but apparently that doesn't count.

An example of how things play out with sex, this was the LAST time I asked for sex and it will be the last until who knows when:

Sunday, beautiful weather. She had the day off, her mother was at a daycare service, I was out to work. I was suppose to be home after 6pm but got off early and was home at 1pm. My wife was home, in make-up with her hair done, but in a housecoat. She was at the computer checking clothes. After coming home, I cleaned the kitchen, setup the bedroom so that everything was perfect, made sure I looked and smelled good, and said in a more romantic way "Beautiful day, light coming into the room, nice music, why don't we have some alone time." Her response was "A little later." Of course I knew this would mean it wasn't happening. A little later her mom came home and my wife said "I think I'm just going to take a shower and go to bed early." AND she never went to bed early, she got to be at 1am.

She saw that I was not happy and said "Don't be angry, I'm doing my best!" And I'm thinking "Best at what?" I would never ask her for sex again. A few weeks back, fighting again, I bring up the fact that sex has been non-existent. She says she feels bad and would understand if I slept with another women. She says she is embarrassed and talks with co-workers about these issues. But for the life of me I don't see why she doesn't talk with me.

In a perfect world, my wife would realize that things could be better between us and work on us together and we would live happily ever after. I asked a friend/pastor to listen to me and give it to me straight. I wanted to know if there was anything I was doing that would make her not want me, not appreciate me, or anything that I was doing that would make you say "Hey, that's probably not a good thing to say/do." And I tried to be as honest as I could. He had nothing. He cares for the both of us so he was being kind in a way.

So, I've been unhappy for a long time. I want out, but at the same time I'm finding it hard. So much time put into a relationship, so many good years. I thought that her cheating would destroy us but I managed to get through it, I don't know how. I still have pain and still have the images, but if she would just put in the effort, those painful images would fade. I don't know how to start talking divorce, what to expect or how to do anything as far as dividing up household goods and debts. Where I live, getting a divorce is easy and costs nothing so long as both parties agree to how things get divided up. We have no kids. We rent a very beautiful apartment, which I wouldn't want to live in on my own. OK, no I'm just babbling. I just hope for some guidance in doing this.

That was the short version. If anything got left out that you thing needs clearing up, I'll add more to it. Right now I'm regretting not leaving her 4 years ago. That's all turning into resentment.

14 years, 5 kids but don't want to be with him anymore

Brief history:
My husband and I met online, lived 2000 miles apart. We met after 2 months of talking on the phone and were married two months after that. I moved across the country and we started our life together. I had never really dated anyone else, I was a late bloomer. He is 13 years older than me - I was 26 he was 40 when we met.

I spent the first 8 years trying to make him happy and not understanding what I was doing wrong. He would fly off the handle for no reason. He would intimidate me, break things to make a point, yell and scream if things didn't go his way. He pushed me a couple of times. The worst was when he kneed me in the butt and knocked me down when I was 8 months pregnant. We were living in a travel trailer literally in the middle of the desert with no power or phone. I had no where to go. I just kept trying to appease him and make him happy.

After I had my last baby I left him for a short time. Took the kids and went to a shelter. He begged me to come back and promised he would change. So I went back to him. Since then he has not been physically violent at all. He has really worked on his temper. He will walk away now rather than lose control. Things are better in a lot of ways.

But I still spend every day I'm with him trying to make sure things go his way so he doesn't get upset. I still stifle my kids so they don't make him mad. He doesn't yell at me often now. But he talks to the kids in ways that I don't think are right. He will swear at them, intimidate them, yell at them, berate them, call them names. I've talked to him many, many times about it and asked him to stop. It doesn't seem to help. He came from an extremely abusive home with a father that was a nightmare. He always defends his actions by saying that he isn't as bad as his father. But in my mind that doesn't make it right.

I don't know how to tell him that what he has done isn't good enough. I have sex with him out of obligation. I cringe inside when he touches me. He is a trucker and on the road a lot. I'm much happier when he isn't around than when he is. Even the kids notice the difference in me when he isn't home. And they are happier too.

I don't want to try anymore. I've reached the point of just not caring. But he has no idea. I've given 14 years to trying and working on it and I have no more emotion for this marriage. And I feel guilty because I'm not even sad. I don't know how to logistically work it out. I don't want to tell him until I have a plan and a means to carry it out.

Am I giving up on my marriage? Should I try harder? Should I sacrifice my happiness to keep this marriage together? For the kids? If we separate the kids will be on their own with him and I won't be there to buffer. He isn't abusive to the point that the courts would intervene. He's just mean to them. But he's also a good dad in other ways.

I don't know what kind of advice I'm looking for. I just need to get this out there.

" Getting Back At Men.."

A couple of months ago I came across this very controversial, interesting ,online piece written by a female artist ,about men and their creepy online behavior on Tinder, a very popular phone app , used to find partners for casual sex encounters.

http://ift.tt/RMFVhk

My first impression was that it was freakin' hilarious!
I laughed at how she depicted creepy men, because it was funny.
But on closer examination , I realized that the woman was actually deeply offended, and I found that to be even more hilarious.
Here's why.

Firstly , I had to search for what the Tinder App , actually is.
Tinder, is a hook up site / phone App that allows people to posts provocative pics of themselves, and an interested party either votes yes or no on their pics , a the app makes a " match" and they start a conversation.

Basically , Tinder is an App that objectifies both sexes on the basis of their physical and sexual appeal, and makes a match.

When a female clicks " yes" on the pic of a shirtless man in a seductive pose, what they are actually saying is:
" yes, he has a hot body and I would do him , I hope he finds me sexy and attractive too.."

If she leaves her contact information on Tinder, a "match" is made by the app based on common, stated interests. Hence if a male stated on his profile that he's looking for casual sex , and her profile said that she's looking for friendship , then there is no match and he cannot contact her , neither can she contact him.

When they're " matched" , makes no sense a man trying to get her impression of postmodernist , Michael Foucault's thesis on power , if she has communicated her interest in casual sex only. After all ,logically there would be other " matches " or potential partners interested only in sex. No one wants to waste time on trivialities, when the scent of sex is in the air.

Ostensibly , her actions amount to a type of hypocrisy . Like a person going to the fish market asking for Chinese food and complaining that the market smells fishy.

But I found her article [ and art, lol!] interesting ,and the reader comments at the bottom of the page even more interesting.

Just reinforced my belief that objectification , like Foucault's
" discursive power " is everywhere and not as one sided as some tend to portray it.

But those men in her article, imo , are still creepy.

So why would she subject herself to those types of men Tinder?

Maybe she likes creepy men?

BTW, Tinder boasts over 10 million daily users, and is available in 24 different languages.

Your thoughts?

How can I talk to girls without boring them?

  • Thread Starter

I hardly have any experience talking to girls and the stuff I talk about tends to be very limited, eventually they get bored of me.

When I meet a girl and get her number, we first talk about uni, work blah blah.. then I move onto interests and hobbies but after that the conversation goes dead.. Would it sound creepy or weird if I talked about relationships/sex so early?

I need advice

He thinks I'm a compulsive liar?

  • Thread Starter

Hey everyone, I really need some help here with something to do with someone I used to know.

Well, I knew him for a year and almost 5 months, and during that time, things weren't easy for me, due to my health and my family life, which led to things turning bad for me as well as sounding incredibly unbelievable. He supported me through is, more than anyone I have known and I thanked him for it. The problem started when I lied over something dumb.

I suffer from depression, the worst kind and only now it is getting better and I have only begun to realise the damage I have done. Back in November, I had friends who found out about him and it turned out they were incredibly jealous of me for whatever reason and kept poisoning me as well as convincing me to make a fake account and add his friends to find out what they say about me. One of them told me that "it will work, he won't mind". Eventually I did what she told me and I still regret that.

During that time, they also told me to lie about playing an instrument to him, he wanted to hear me play and I panicked. He began to get really suspicious about me and confronted me about the account as well as this, I didn't know what to do, and I felt so scared of telling him the truth and decided to ask for advice and funnily enough they told me to deny it.

Without going in to much detail about how it ended, it did end extremely bad. I was called a compulsive liar repeatedly by him and it has stuck to me now. My friends didn't help me, and in fact told someone else behind my back that they were happy that I wasn't with this person anymore.

I feel disgusted in myself, I am not a liar and I know that for a fact. I regret listening to the wrong people and I take full responsibility for lying, but I still care deeply about this person and he just doesn't know what to believe of me, what to think about me anymore, let alone talk to me. Many people have tried to tell me to move on, but it still hurts and considering I will be moving to where he lives it would be very difficult for me. Also, I have tried to think with a positive mind that it will get better, for me. But without sounding so pathetic-I feel a part of me is missing now he is gone.

I do need advice, and I do want to speak to him one day. I just don't know how to approach it. I don't know what people would do in my situation, or in his situation. I don't even understand why my friends would do this to me, knowing fully I have clinical depression amongst other things. I just keep beating myself over about this, and I don't want to cry anymore.

Could somebody please help me?

Girls, your opinion on 'inexperienced' lads?

  • Thread Starter

Hey everyone!

No worries, nothing overly emotional or angsty to find here. Just wondering about what girls think about guys who are, if I can put it this way, 'inexperienced' in terms of relationships with girls (i.e. never having had a girlfriend, never had a kiss etc.). Is it a plus, minus, or completely irrelevant? As a sixth former who is one of these chaps, would just be curious to know if it really matters!! Thanks :)

Is my boyfriend too controlling?

  • Thread Starter

I'm nearly 20, gay and going into my third year of uni. I'm not allowed to drink alcohol, I get told off if I drink 'too much' coffee, and I have to phone him every day. My uni course doesn't allow me to have a summer holiday and I have to work for free, which is very tiring and he has a go at me when I'm tired. He hates it when I go out in the evening anywhere without him (he never wants to go anywhere so I can't go with him anyway) and questions me about what I did.

He questions me about everything I do, I'm not allowed to touch other people's pets when he's around (there are quite a few on my road), he doesn't like it when I talk about my work (he says he gets jealous about it), he's decided that we're moving in with each other after I graduate (which I am going to say no to), and he's told me I'm not ever allowed to have any pets. He usually wants sex every time I see him and when it's obvious I'm not in the mood, he keeps asking for it.

My patience is running very thin now and I feel suffocated; I've been going out with him for about a year and he's about a year younger than me. Is he too controlling, and what should I do? Thank you for any responses :)
