| Hi! Just wondered how you might interpret this situation. I met a guy about 2 months ago on a dating site. On the first date we got chatting about how we found the site and I said it annoyed me when guys would write to me obviously just after one thing, which I'm not after as I would have written 'looking for casual sex' in my profile. So he knew from the start I was looking for something a bit more serious. I normally wait a while before sleeping with someone, but with this guy it ended up being after about 2 weeks (about the 5th date in). Since then we've had sex most times we've met up. About a month into 'it' I asked him what he was looking for (maybe that seems a bit early, but I just wanted to know we were hopefully on the same page) and he said he'd like to take it slowly as he'd only broken up with his gf about 3 months ago (I expected him to say this so it was fine with me), but then he said 'so I guess you could say we're friends with benefits' I was really hurt by this as he'd known from the start this wasn't what I wanted and I felt like he'd led me on! I left and over the next few days I was distant with him and even cancelled a date because I just didn't want to see him. A few days later he wanted to meet up so I agreed so I could get some things off my chest. It turns out I'd misunderstood him (how, may I ask?) and he thought FWB was what you called it before you were in a relationship with someone. Now, English isn't his first language, but he is fluent so I don't know how he couldn't have known what this meant. I decided to give him another chance and we kept meeting up, but I couldn't get it out of my mind that it was just sex he was after and maybe he was just pretending it was more so that we could keep meeting up and therefore he'd get what he wanted. One night he asked to come over and I said 'you can, but I'm on my period so you probably won't want to come over' and he seemed shocked I'd said that and he said 'it's not just sex I want - I enjoy hanging out with you'. He does put a lot of effort in during the dates (even when we don't have sex) such as going to concerts, going go-karting, going to comedy nights...etc. I'm really confused. My friends say I should just ride with it (excuse the pun) and see where it goes, but I don't want to let myself fall for him if he's just playing me. Even if it were just sex I were after too, I still wouldn't stay as it's not even that good to be honest - he's quite selfish in bed. I just really like him though - we have such a laugh together and I enjoy his company. He's been away for 2 weeks now and wrote to me the other day telling me how horny he was and couldn't wait for sex when he got back. I would much rather him say he missed me or something, not just the sex:( Sorry for the length. I'm not sure what to do. I know it's normal to have quite a lot of sex at the start of a relationship, so I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this :S | |||

Is he just after sex?
Where are all the parties and why am I missing out?
| So I'm in my second year at uni and I've been living at home since I started, so already that means I've missed out on a lot of the fun of living on halls. But while I accept that I can't change that until third year, I still don't know how to go about making new friendships that actually stick. I rarely get invited to halls/house parties and even though i want to go out more I don't know how to even find out where these parties are happening and how to get in, since most are either on halls or in student digs off campus. I feel like I'm missing out on a huge chunk of my social life, coz on a typical day I get the train to uni, do my work and then get the train back home because I don't know what else to do. There's a couple of student nights at the SU bars but I rarely meet anyone new. I want to be out at parties more and meeting new people but I don't know how. Thoughts? | |||

Comics and Quotes: Zen Pencils
| I'm always up for finding new online comics, and I'm in love with this one. Zen Pencils takes quotes from famous authors, religious figures, and sayings then writes them into a visual representation of what they mean. Zen Pencils | |||

So am I gay or what?
| Yo I'm 16, a girl, and I'm really freaking confused about my sexuality. I know it's normal to feel like that at this age but I just want to feel less confused. This is like the 5th time I've tried to write this to explain how I feel. I am definitely sexually attracted to women. Like there is no doubt about that. I love women. And I'm not sexually attracted to guys. I mean if I see a nice looking guy, I can go hey, he's a nice looking guy, but it's not like I wanna have sex with him. But I don't want a relationship with either. The idea of an actual relationship sends me running. I don't know if its a commitment thing or I'm afraid or whatever, but I really do not want a relationship. Everything I feel towards women is purely sexual, like its not 'omg I'm soooo in love with this girl' it's like... Well I think that's self explanatory actually. So what, am I gay? Am I the lesbian Barney Stinson? Posted from TSR Mobile | |||

Just got confirmation- wow. Shocking.
| Yeah, I too now join the ranks of the guy with the cheating wife. The looser. That's how I feel now. So, for the last 4 months I've noticed that my wife- I guess I should give some info first. Sorry if this is a little obtuse and crazy, but I just found out like an 2 hours ago. My wife is 31 years old, we have been married for 6 years and have 1 child- an amazing boy, who's just a beast and Boss Hog, lol. He's 4 years old, gonna be 5 in May. I'm 34. Back to the point. She's been cheating on me for the last 4 months- for what I think has been physical for 3 or 4 weeks-more on that later. Back in Early December she began getting on Facebook. A lot. More than often. And started chatting up a co-worker ( She works in a real estate office). Now this F*ckin d-bag is a married guy as well, he's a tad bit older than me- I think late 30's early 40's, not sure and I'm sure he has at least 1 or 2 kids. I know he has kids. What a d!ck. So I guess in February I noticed that she was becoming sort of withdrawn and short with me. Detaching I guess. Our sex life was still great- at least 5 times a week, sometimes more. So I just sort of chalked it up as just being married and wife stuff. Then about 3 weeks ago our sex life, trickled off- big time. We've had sex 3 times since about the end of Feb. This is when I went into full recon mode. I know my wife- very well, I've known her since we were 9, child hood friends who lost touch when we went off to college then reconnected. So I know the lying ***** well. I was told by a friend who caught his ex wife- that the phone and facebook is the key to catching intel on the lying *****s. So that's what I did, Well because I'm not a n00b at IT I got her facebook info easily.Nothing was out of line, other then way to much convo's and likes by each of them- but nothing out of line. So then the quest for the phone began. She's clever, she tried using apps that delete all messages by selected numbers. But because these apps require a computer to start them the first time- her hard drive wasn't sweeped yet. So 2nite while she slept I got into her computer. and was able to run a system restore of her phone- back to the beginning of December. What I found was shocking. 1'000s of texts to this d-bag and then I got to feb's text's- this is when I think it got physical. Then the pictures. I'll never forget these. Ever. In my life. These pictures of her f*cking and S*cking this guy's little pecker will forever be in my brain. That was tonight. I'm surprisingly calm. I guess I'm just waiting. I want to divorce her, I hate her now. But my little boy is the x factor. I want him to have his mother. But If we divorce I will fight for custody with every fiber of my being. It will be intense. Scorched Earth policy. I will ruin her life. If She try's and takes my son. It's game on. And it's a game that she will lose. Badly. So that's my early, early sunday morning in beautiful so cal. How's yours. Advice needed. Please. | |||

Is my H being passive aggressive or something else?
| I have an ongoing thread on another board, and I wanted to get some wider views on my H's behavior. The description of his behavior is here and if you look at the whole page, a couple of posts prior I explain a situation that happened yesterday where I tried to be affectionate and close to him and he made a joke out of it. It is an ongoing theme with him, rejecting my affections so that instance was pretty isolated as I tend not to try any more for fear of being rejected, which I can be 99% sure he will do. It has been thrown up that he is being passive aggressive and I was wondering if anyone could have a quick read and throw some thoughts out there as to whether he *is* being PA or something else? Because whatever it is, it is driving me crazy. | |||

Need Perspective
| I have been married to my college sweetheart for 11 years and we have 4 young children (in elementary school). I am fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom. My husband's job is very stressful and he has always needed a hobby outside of work to occupy his mind and de-stress. I totally understand and fully support that. For the past several years, he has been competing in triathalons. When he first began, I was 110% on board. He could train whenever he wanted, for however long. I catered to his changing nutrition habits and washed his stinky work-out clothes. I listened endlessly about training strategies and didn't say a word about the money he shelled out for equipment, race fees, travel, etc. For 3 years, I dragged the kids to countless races across the country, fueling him at feed stops, massaging sore muscles, taking photographs of him along the way. While on the one hand, I am proud of him and how hard he works toward his goals and I think that he sends a very positive message to our kids. And yes, we have spent time as a family traveling to various places. However, it is always my trying to find a way to occupy the kids while he races, rushing around trying to get the "right" photos, arranging all the travel, etc. We recently went on our first family vacation in 5 years that did not involve attending a race of his. Nonetheless, we still had to deal with his training. Although he tried to schedule it to minimize the impact on us (ie, running in the am before we got up), it still affected what we did--us missing some activities because he didn't get back in time from a ride, him being tired after a workout, us following him to take photos. He is going out of the country to train for 2 weeks next month (as he has done in the past). I am fine with him going--he has asked me to come (either alone or with the kids), but I know it will largely involve following him around with food and drink and taking photos. He was recently watching a certain race on tv and said, I can't believe you don't want to watch me do that. Is it selfish of me not to want to tag along and support him while he trains and races? Again, it's not an issue of letting him compete or train, it's just the issue of MY participation (or lack thereof) in his racing and training. I guess I am looking for perspectives: am I not being supportive enough? Am I not expecting enough from him? I feel like I and the kids are not his priority. Thanks in advance for your comments. | |||

Out of the woods, now to get back in the swing
| I posted here a long time ago, over a year ago about something I was going through with my wife... summarize.. she resented me for alot of things I did that made her feel like she was in my shadow, and she felt unappreciated because those things took precedence over her. I was blind to it, and let it continue for too long, and she became tired and began to not care, and stopped trying to garner my attention. This lead to her going through a part of her life where she was confused. She started going to the bars, where she met guys. One of which she started an emotional relationship with, that eventually became "sort" of physical (they kissed). My wife has always been super honest, and very honorable so for her to even get that far meant things were bad. She finally told me, and we began to try to mend our marriage. Fast forward a year, and we are still working on it, but its getting better little by little. She's in nursing school which eats up all her time, and we just came back from a family trip to universal Orlando where we had a blast, and I got laid... We talk more, and she relies on me more. There's only one thing left to regain.. and that's affection in our marriage. We still don't kiss, say we love each other, hug, or cuddle or anything. She blames it on being together for 13 years, and being busy with school. She says she doesn't have time. IMO there's always time. We haven't had sex since the trip back in Feb. so its been a month since I last had sex, and it was longer than that before. And, we don't do anything special.. its just straight up right to the point. Anyway, I feel like I am getting closer to her, but I need to figure out how to approach this to increase our affection and sex life. She's still attractive to me at 30, and I'm 31. I just started eating healthy and working out a month ago in an effort to improve my appearance. How do I get the affection back? Even stuff as small as a peck on the lips before work, or a hug, or cuddling on the couch for a movie? I'm afraid to try things because I don't know how she will react, its been so long I don't know how anymore. Our relationship is 1000 times better than it was this time last year.. but we still need more work. Any advice? We rarely fight, we talk a good bit, and I help her with school.. I don't get it. | |||

Is your Husband (or wife) in denial about your EA?
| My H and I seem to be on track. After many outbursts, tears, thoughts of separation and despair, there have been some conversations that have led to us both feeling settled (I feel more stable and he appears to be ok?). Admittedly, we are distracted right now as we have alot of domestic activity this week and have been very busy, but throughtout this we have been getting along and physical intamacy has been regular (when it never used to be). I think I'm slowly coming out of the "fog". It would seem I'm having trouble "letting go" (still checking AP online status etc) I feel embarrased about this but it's a consolation to NC, which is now 9 weeks. It is getting better, and the best thing is I CAN see a time where I will do this less and less. There is some light I know. I'm still kinda stuck, but determined to stick to NC and work hard on my M. I know this will all take time and I'm willing to put in the hard work. I need some help/advice/input regarding my H's absolute resolve not to mention the EA. I told him about it in a heated argument a few weeks ago, at that time he asked me for details and I told him it's irrelevant. Since then he has not brought it up at all. During another heated fight a week ago he mentioned something about a "fling" and "insignificant". He is obviously minimising this in his head as a way of coping. Deeming it insignificant as an ego saving tactic? Refusing to believe it ever happened so he doesnt have to face up to it? Can any men out there help me understand his behaviour? How should I deal with it? I mentioned to him casually a few days ago "I know you shelf things in your head in order to not have to deal with them, you just dont think about stuff and it's easy for you not to, but do you ever think they might come back to bite you in the a**?" His response "It never has in the past" (?) He seem's to just want to move on. I do feel there is a huge pink elephant in the room that is being ignored. He is a classic rugsweeper, completely avoids any type of confrontation on all levels. But this is just weird. I feel like it's hard to move on. He is not holding me responsible or accountable for my actions. I feel terrible and want to make it up to him. I am 100% transparent, he has all my passwords, schedules, emails are open etc. I fear we are building up our M again on a wobbly foundation but I cant make him talk. Is it ok for some people to just deal with these things internally? I'm really confused. | |||

Need some advice
| I've been talking to this girl that I met at a party, HB8 and we've been texting regularly for about a week. When I first met her at a party we made out for a bit and there's definitely attraction because the second time she invited me to hang out with her. The second meeting went terribly wrong, I was cockblocked by a friend and the night ended with me only kissing her for a few moments. I texted her the next day and we talked for a little, but the next time I tried to reinitiate a convo over text I got no reply. Any thoughts of this being salvagable or not? | |||

I am confused by her signals.
| Hi! I am new here and looking for some advice. I appreciate any reply/input. I created a huge fangroup for a certain band that contains over 3,400 people. That has made me popular in that social circle. I had a huge birthday party last Thursday. A girl showed up at my birthday party because her mutual friends were there. She introduced herself. I've avoided women for a few months now but something about her caught me. She added me as a friend on FB that night. The next day I messaged her immediately and suggested we hang out. This last Monday night we met up. It was honestly one of the most magical nights of my life. We clicked so good, laughed, had fun, and it was so natural. She told me later she was nervous for a while around me. We ended up kissing for about 45 minutes and agreed to keep in touch until I move out there in May. She lives in Los Angeles, I in Wisconsin. She told me she isn't looking for anything serious right now and that we will just see what happens over time. She also said she's not good at replying to texts and sometimes it takes her a while. The first part of the week was great. We spent hours on the phone and communication was good. She even has had me wake her up by calling her just to talk to me because she says it will make her whole day wonderful. Over the last few days she will text me with smiley faces and hearts, etc. and seems super into me. Then she will go about 10 hours without even replying to my texts. She has done this the last 3 days. I don't act needy or desperate. I never text her twice in a row, even if she has gone half a day without replying. I always wait for her. At this point I am really confused. She seems so into me when she actually does talk to me but she doesn't seem to talk to me much anymore. Today it's been over 10 hours since I've even gotten a reply. The good thing is that she doesn't know how bad I feel right now or how it's upsetting me that she's neglecting me so much. We haven't talked about it. I don't want to talk about it because that will be the moment she knows I'm upset and it may turn her off completely. I am obviously way more into her than she is to me. My guy says I should just drop her and stop myself from feeling hurt but I've never felt that kind of click with a girl in my life that we had last Monday. I am just curious what any of you think is going on in this situation? What would make a girl seem into me but ignore me for such huge blocks of time? | |||

Breaking up the LTR over FUTURE in laws?
| Get ready for a long rant! Half of the reason why I am posting this is to vent, but I do pose a serious question at the end of you want to skip the very long rant I have written. The question part is in larger text at the end. I have been dating my boyfriend for two years. I started living with him and his parents 18 months ago. Right when I graduated high school my mom decided to move. I didn't want to go because my boyfriend and I were inseparable. Also I would have to wait over a year to go to college thanks to out of state tuition. They agreed to let me move in and all was well. I used to like these people, at first. They were very open and friendly. When my boyfriend was working I'd hang out with them or go out to lunch with them alone. Certain things about them bugged me, like their extreme negativity/racism and bad habits (smoking inside all the time with no regard for others living in the house). In exchange for living with them I promised to do the household laundry, dishes, and clean up once a week (I also pay a hundred dollars a month for my added bills). Now I feel like I am getting the raw end of the deal because their dishwasher broke a year ago and they decided to waste their money on tons of crap, but since they have a free maid, no need to replace it! (They seriously went out and bought a $400 chair they didn't need at all!) I spend a lot of time cleaning every day. Real maids actually get paid to clean WITH free rent. My boyfriend and I split a 70 square foot room (not joking) and there is one tiny bathroom in the house. I think it's fair to assume that the hundred bucks to help pay for bills and all the cleaning I do is more than fair for "free housing" . I started a small online business and didn't expect it to go anywhere. Well it did. Last month I made over 8k in sales (this was a sudden change from an average of 2k before). I had no employees to help and my boyfriend works full time; I also go to college full time. I was extremely overwhelmed and didn't clean the dishes a few nights; that's when all hell broke loose. One night the bitch (his mom) came home and saw I hadn't done the dishes yet. Mind, she gets off of work at like 2pm. When his dad got home an hour later they called us into the room and basically had a "bash on me" party. They basically said they hate me. I am a sloppy, messy person. I am ruining their "perfect" son. They want me out. If I do anything else wrong in the next month, I'm kicked to the curb. I was shocked, really. I mean this was the first time in all these months I'd done a poor job at cleaning. They didn't bother to talk to me like human beings; and learn that the spring semester started and sales for my business increased 300%! They just wanted something to get mad about and some drama to be in. I didn't even say two words. I just let them yell and yell at me until they were done. I couldn't really say anything anyways. These people are so freaking childish it's ridiculous. Ever since that night happened all I can do is think about why I hate them so much. They are working class because they were too lazy to attend college or training and get real jobs. I know this because the bitch's dad has a great military pension and offered to pay for ALL of her college. He already did it for her sister (and her daughter) and is doing it for my boyfriend. SHE was too lazy to go, so now she has a crappy paying job and so does her husband. They used to get paid pretty well, before the economy sunk. Now they blame their poor salaries on illegal immigrants and black people beating the system, instead of themselves! Which it totally is their fault. They are so negative and all they seem to live for is complaining about other people. They are TERRIBLE with money. The both have cars they bought brand-new; one was over 50k new! Then their garage is full of four-wheelers and dune buggies. But their house is awful. Smells like rotting cigarette smoke and dog piss. It hits you like a brick wall if you've been out for a few hours. There is one tiny bathroom them and their two kids have had to share forever. Apparently a few years ago they took at a 15k lone to build on the house, but blew it all on bullshit instead. On top of that their washer machine barely runs, their dishwasher is broken, their oven is half broken, etc, etc. Their floors are soaked with dog piss and have never been replaced. Terrible carpet or cheap linoleum that should have been replaced tens of years ago. They finally redid the roof this year after waiting five years longer than they were supposed to. My boyfriend's best friend came over and helped for over 30 hours, expecting to get some sort of compensation. They didn't even give him gas money. They did a terrible job with their two kids. My boyfriend told me they have been smoking, in the house, like god damn chimneys ever since he was born! No joke, windows and doors closed, smoking nonstop with their baby and toddler playing on the floor below. I think that constitutes child abuse, because my boyfriend now has asthma and is probably going to have other problems in the future. They do the same thing with me. The smoke is so strong in the morning, even with our bedroom door closed, that it wakes me up. They eat terribly. She has never cooked her family a meal from scratch in her life. All she does is go out and by frozen lasagna or whatever, throw it in the oven, and then tell everyone to come get it. So she is obese and her husband has diabetes. My boyfriend refuses to eat anything but cheeseburgers, burritos and pizza, thanks to them never offering him anything else. My boyfriend's brother went out and got a 15 year old girl friend when he was 21!!! And her mom is like the chief of police or something!! This has been a HUGE problem for the past 4 years. Finally he knocked her up and got married to her. Then there was all this drama between the two families. My mom is a psychologist and offered to help because she suspected the other family had some personality disorders. She spent all night talking to them. To my mom's face they were so grateful and nice. Asking questions and acting like they totally believed and agreed with my Mom. My Mom left and they turn to each other and say "I don't believe in any of that psycho babble!" God damn it I was so fucking pissed. They think they have the right to judge my moms CAREER that she went to COLLEGE for while you two fucked around like teenagers your entire life?? And if they didn't believe in it, why did they pretend to? And then make fun of my mom behind her back? Such fucking children. That's when I really started disliking them so much. They have done nothing with their lives. They both worked meaningless jobs, by choice! They had the option to go to college for free and they used to make plenty of money to do so. But they chose not to. They are negative, racist and judgmental. They were terrible parents who poisoned their children with smoke, junk food and their bad traits. They look down their nose at everyone and pretend to be religious when I have never seen them go to church. They think they are model citizens and have gotten my boyfriend to believe the same, which is the problem. My boyfriend thinks his parents are amazing people. He thinks their behavior is acceptable. I wish I could get him to see that they are simply not that great of people. There are definitely worst people out there, but he shouldn't hold himself to their extremely low standards. It's not okay to be lazy when you have the option to do much better, it's not okay to waste all your money on bullshit when the house is falling apart, it's not okay to eat like shit, smoke constantly, and raise your children in that! It's just not! And he thinks it is I dunno I think it might be time to give up on him, simply because his parents have poisoned him so much. He is a funny, hard-working standup guy. I love him more than anything. But he was raised by some pretty awful parents and I dunno if I can risk him turning in to that. We are signing a lease to rent our own house because I just can't STAND living here anymore, but now I don't want to risk getting roped up with my boyfriend for 6 months to a year, unable to leave. It's like I love him so much I am willing to try and make it work but I also don't want to take such a major risk moving out with him. I see more and more of the negative traits his parents gave him every day. I have no idea how to talk to him. He knows that after his parents yelled at me that one day, I have liked them a lot less but he has no idea it's to this extent! Oh also, one more reason why I truly despise these people. A few months ago one of their dogs was dying of old age. I took some vet tech classes so I could tell easily she had a bad internal infection. That poor dog suffered for at least four days before passing. On the first day I said "You should take her in and get her put down. She's suffering." The bitch said no. Want to know why? Because the dog had a huge tumor the size of a potato, that it had had for years, (something I had also said should be seen) and she didn't want to look bad. When the dog got really bad I offered to take her in and pay for everything, they still said no!!:boggled: The dog coughed up/puked up so much blood and had many seizures before finally dying. It was so depressing to watch and not be able to do anything about. All because she didn't want to look bad, it was insane. | |||

What kind of response would you expect from your spouse?
