girlfriend is tight with her ex! help please, any advice?

hey, i want some help here over a tricky situation for me basically, i have been going out with this girl for around 3 months and things are going pretty well, we have no problem at all, except that i find it extremely uncomfortable and annoying when her ex (which is also one of my friend) always come and chat to her and he looks like he wants to get back with her although he also has a girlfriend. he is an attention seeker and go around doing what he likes and never listen. He constantly text my girlfriend, chat to her and trying to meet up with her. I am currenly away for summer holidays but i was so annoyed when my girlfriend told me that she met up with him one day, then i wasnt happy so she told me there wasnt anything bad. I do trust her a lot coz i know her and she isnt really the type of girl who would cheat as i know but it is still a bit weird, isnt it? my friends has talked to her about it saying thats just not right but she is still really tight with him, like they likes each other's facebook picture a lot which just makes me feel depressed. Am i a bit overprotective here but i just really like her and i dont want to lose her. but i do want to talk to her about this, telling her i dont feel comfortable about this, should i talk to her about this and how should i ask her??
