I've been listening - with great interest - to Mark Levin's proposal that 2/3 of the States call an Amendment Convention - for the purposes of restoring Constitutional governance. 2 days prior to the final vote on ratification of the Constitution, George Mason insisted and prevailed in his authorship of Article 5. He felt Article 5 was an absolute must, as it provides the several States a method of working around a corrupt Congress. 2/3 of State legislatures represent a quorum for such an Amendments Convention - and 3/4 would be required for ratification of any proposed Amendments. It's quite clear this Administration, the last Administration, the Congress, the bureaucracy, and the Supreme Court are basically corrupt and unwilling/unable to police themselves - as indicated by their obviously unconstitutional actions. We get plenty of agreement here on the idea that the government is corrupt. Our founding fathers left us this remedy should we ever find ourselves in this situation. I think it's worth doing - and it's something Eisenhower spoke about 50 years ago and Reagan 25 years ago. It's time. I hear plenty of people yapping about "taking the country back" It truly has been hijacked by the political class and their courtiers in the dominant media. | |||
