Does he like me/Do friends do this?

I've known a good friend of mine for a long time now and only recently he's been asking me out to dinner/cinema/bowling - we've had a great time and it's the first real time we've spent time together alone (not with other friends). He also rearranged some plans for me because I was busy on the day we were meant to go out. Do guys just do this with their friends or does he have another agenda?
