Friend asked me to go for a drink?

I have a close friend who I haven't seen in a while, we were texting the other day and he suggested we go for a drink- I said yes but thinking about it I'm not quite sure what to expect, whether it's just a friendly catch up or more of a casual date, I'm a bit confused because we've never really done this before gone out just the two of us.. we usually see each other as part of a larger group of friends what do you guys think?
