I'm purchasing a house on my own for the first time. (Well, I'll be the only one on the deed/mortgage....my mother is helping me quite a bit with the down payment.)
I need to get homeowners insurance, but I've never done this before, so I don't know how much to get.
The purchase price on the house is 300K. The value of my belongings would be considered very average. No expensive jewelry whatsoever, no designer purses, shoes. Couple of nice TVs, electronics, etc.
Any advice? I called State Farm this morning and he is putting together a couple of quotes, and I'm going to get a quote from my auto insurance carrier as well (Geico).
