Hi. I don't want to make this too long but I need to explain myself. so, I remember reading about Clare's law in the news a while back, where a person can find out if their partner has a history of violence or sexual abuse convinctions etc. I want to do this, as I have a weird feeling about my boyfriend of 3 years. He says he got accused of sexually abusing a girl when he was 14, went to court and was put on tag, he says his family know about it and know he was falsely accused (i don't want to talk to his family about it though). He told me this a while ago and I believed him. But he now says social services will not allow him near a certain family member of his who is three, because of his past. This is a recent thing. I feel really weird about this as it just doesn't sound right to me. there have been other little things niggling at me as well, and I was wondering about asking the police to see just what the conviction was and if he was found guilty( I did not know him at the time when he was 14). How would i go about this? I googled Clare's law but i can only find news articles on it and not how to go about it. Do I go into a police station and ask? this is my last option as I am considering breaking up with him(over the other little things which have been building up and making me feel weird on the whole).
I will be deleting this by tomorrow as I do not want to be found out I'm posting this. Thanks.
I realise some people will disagree with me doing this but I would appreciate it if people don't post angry comments, just helpful ones please! thanks in advance.
