| Basically, I am going to Oxford and my GF is going to London Metropolitan university. Frankly, I'm embarrassed for her. Why didn't she have the intelligence to get into a better uni? Now, I'm not a snob, (I live in a poor area, I can't be a snob) and no disrespect to the uni, but it's hardly Oxford or Cambridge. If I make any friends at Oxford, how are they going to react when they know I have a GF who goes to London met? Besides, my GF is bright, but not exactly Oxford bright like me, and I want to be intellectually stimulated and have intelligent debates. However, I am fond of her, and I don't want to come across a jerk, but we all have our insecure issues. Also, I'd never tell her that I'm sort of ashamed of her, as I don't want to hurt her. I'd rather she was happy than at a good uni, it's just these type of thoughts at the back of my head. What should I do in this situation? | |||
