Would you ignore a person you've rejected?

  • Thread Starter

This has happened to me and has upset me quite a lot. I told a guy I liked him and he rejected me (in quite a nice way). I told him there was no hard feelings and that I appreciated his honesty.

Afterwards, I tried to send him a couple of messages asking him how he was doing, work-related, etc. (nothing to do with me and him) and they get completely ignored. I'm rather hurt by this to be honest, as I wouldn't have misconstrued him speaking to me as him liking me, getting the wrong idea, etc. So I find it a little rude, and it's kind of rubbing salt in the wound even more :(

Do you think he's ignoring me completely because he's worried I'll get the wrong idea if he replies? Would you ignore someone who you had rejected/have nothing to do with them?

Relationship advice?

  • Thread Starter

Im 17 and my boyfriend of a year and a half is 16. He's due to sit his GCSEs this year and I'm going to sit my AS exams this year. I feel like recently I've caught up to my age and we're in two different places in life. I really do still feel for him. But recently, I haven't felt the need to kiss him. We haven't had sex in a fair bit and I feel like my lack of sexual desire is an indicator of something.
But what??
Any help is appreciated x

Why

  • Thread Starter

Why do lads feel the need to put me down on my looks and the same lads who put me down say that that there is nothing wrong with the way I look and tell me I shouldn't put myself down and yet they then go and pull me down, I don't get why they make me feel like that about myself

How am I supposed to move on.....

  • Thread Starter

So my unofficial boyfriend has ignored my message from 2 weeks ago and he still snaps and goes on instagram. I don't know if he's ignoring me on purpose or not. I mean the last message he sent was him complimenting me and he always says how he has never felt like this about a girl and so on. I want to move on and I heard the easiest way to do that is to cut them off but I can't do that cos I still have hope that he's going to message me back.

Pretty upset over a small thing - how do I get over this?

  • Thread Starter

Hey everyone,

So I just found out about something which in the grand scheme of things isn't massive but has momentarily made me quite upset and I'd just like to hear some calming words please lol. So up until about two weeks ago, I had been on-off seeing a girl at uni who not only was my girlfriend but also one of my closest friends. Despite obstacles in the relationship we were suuuuper close and have still been very close since the break-up and talk pretty much every day. It's now the Easter holidays and we both live in London and haven't seen each other in a while (was meant to go out with her and other friends last night but couldn't make it) so I suggested meeting up tonight and she said she can't make it as it's her best friend's birthday, which is fine. I found out later on however through someone else that it actually isn't her best friend's birthday tonight. So she lied, and obviously we're not together anymore so she can do what she wants, but it's gotten into my head somehow (I have anxiety bear in mind so things get amplified x100 in my head) that she's going on a date but doesn't want to upset me by telling me - which isn't all that unlikely as I know she's been going to various queer meet-ups and stuff over the holidays and the other day I did get upset over her talking about another girl so she was like I won't do that anymore. Basically the prospect of her moving on and not telling me about it in such a short space of time since the break up has really upset me. Does anyone have any advice for getting over it? Thank you.

University has turned me into exactly the kind of person I hate and said I'd never be

  • Thread Starter

Before uni, I was quite sheltered in terms of boys - I'd only ever gone to 2nd and really hesitated to do more as I told myself I wanted to wait to lose my v to someone who it actually meant something with.. I'd never really had anything even close to a relationship either, like never even been on a date, and I didn't care as I told myself it was because I hadn't met anyone right yet
It came to freshers week and I lost it on the 2nd night to a guy on my floor.. Since then, I've slept with 5 others. They've all pretty much been one (or two) night stands, and after every single one I've hated myself and been gutted when they stopped texting after a day or two.
I hate how easy I've become and I just don't know why it's happened - I'm genuinely not that kind of person, I never go out on a night out looking for it, but the minute I get drunk and someone gives me some attention I give it away far too easily. I'm pretty insecure and I feel like this definitely stems from that
I would love to be in a relationship, I'm just worried I have/am starting to get a reputation for being easy and that puts guys off.. for example, there was a guy who I kinda liked, we were good friends and we'd been flirting on and off for the last few weeks, then I slept with him and since them he's pretty much ignored me.. which has made me feel awful
Really been feeling pretty down about myself recently, very glad it's the easter holidays and I've been able to get away from it all. Any advice would be appreciated :)

Why do people judge you for being single? Like "yeah he's single, but he is gay"

  • Thread Starter

Firstly why do people judge you for being in your twenties and not in a relationship?

And secondly, what is this thing about being gay automatically makes it more obvious you are going to be single? :S

i'm 16 and no one ever loved me :( ?

  • Thread Starter

Hi! I'm 16 years old and I never had a boyfriend. I'm in highschool and a lot of girls have boyfriends. A lot of people say that i'm pretty, really, and i'm not shy and boys like to talk to me. I'm a brunette green eyes. Morrocan origins.
Some guys have been interested on me, i've noticed it. But no one ever asked me out??? I don't know what's wrong. I haven't been kissed what a shame..
Is it me ? I'm just afraid no one will ever loved me, and I want to discover love even if it's painful.
But the funny this is that i don't wanna date. It's useless at this age, when i see girls crying over boys I just feel sorry for them. I'm focused at my studies. But sometimes i wish i had a boy who sees me as his everything.
Please need some help !

  • Thread Starter

I am 30yrs have this girlfriend who is 23yrs I so much love and would love to make my wife but she's into a relationship. She hangs out with me, we occasionally have sex and wouldn't want me to date another girl, but she wouldn't want to leave the other guy for me. She wants me to be there for her and continue being friends with me. She stopped dating the other guy and now with someone she wants to marry if all works fine. I find it difficult to let her go and am confused. I don't know if she loves me or she would one day realise herself and we would plan our future together.

Wife left for a woman, losing my kids to her.

Four months ago my wife of 9 years cheated on me with a woman. My initial reaction was lashing out, we have 3 kids together and I couldn't believe she would just throw away our relationship like that.

I tried my hardest to get her back but she wasn't having any of it so I just gave up. I can't compete with the woman she cheated on me with and it makes me feel pathetic. She was an artillery soldier for a while and is now a firefighter. My 10 year old son has met her numerous times and really looks up her, she makes me feel like less of a man and I hate it.

Yesterday my two younger children came home from visiting their mom and instead of calling the woman by her name they called her "ma". They have only known her for a short while and they already see her as their mother. I never wanted them to raise my kids and I honestly don't agree with two women raising children but there is nothing I can do about that. I am also still in love with my wife. I tried going on dates but I can't find someone like my wife. She was perfect and no one can come close to her. I always find myself checking her Facebook page scrolling through pictures of her and her new "girlfriend" with my kids. I feel as if this new woman has taken over their minds, they no longer eat meat or animal products because of her and I asked them if they wanted to go to the zoo when the weather gets better, they told me that zoos were bad and they should go to a sanctuary(what the ****).

My daughter is also getting a lot more active, which is great but she says she wants to be a soldier, firefighter or police officer when she grows up. She is young and could easily change her mind but no one wants to think about their daughter getting deployed. They also said that they wanted to spend next Christmas with their mom. I feel as if I am quickly losing my kids, if this is what it is like after four months what will happen as time goes on. What would you do in my situation?

*My oldest son also said he wants to live with my ex her and her gf. I asked my two younger kids if that was what they wanted and they said yes. He also does everything with her and no longer spends time with me, in my kid's eyes this woman is some bad ass ex soldier. She took them to her firehouse and let them sit in the truck and all that. My son made a comment that really hurt me, he said that they feel like his true parents and their house is "home". They also have two kids at their house and my son like the big family vibe he gets when he's there.

How can I change my husband to be the man that I need him to be?

I've been married to my husband for 8 years and I would say the first 5 years were super. We have 3 kids together and have talked about having a 4th. When we first met, he was charming, in shape, confident, and full of energy. Over the years, he has grown overweight, lazy, and doesn't pay me enough attention. We used to have sex 3-4 times a week and now I'm lucky to get it twice a month. As you can probably guess, yes, I have been cheating on him. The other man that I'm seeing is a neighbor. He is attractive, charismatic, athletic, and caring. The catch of this other man is that he is married so our interactions have to stay secret from his wife as well as my husband. The problem with that is that my husband came home one day and found me giving this man oral sex in our bedroom. My husband ran out of the home crying and I tried my best to try to console him and tell him that this would stop. My lover doesn't want to ruin his own marriage so he has agreed to end things with me if that's what I want to do. The issue I have is that this other man has showed me how much better life could be and is everything I want in a man. I know my husband has the potential to make me happy because he was once the mirror image of the man that I've been seeing.

I need my husband to stop moping around the house and acting pitiful. He is a great father and because of that, I can't leave him since my kids will hate me for that. It's just he fails to satisfy me sexually and emotionally. He still doesn't listen to me when I tell him that he needs to be more spontaneous and take care of his body more. A good sign of things is that he does accept the fact that his behavior caused me to cheat but instead of being a better man, he is trying to be more attached and needy which is something that I don't want. He knows that I'm still seeing the other man and he likes to throw a temper tantrum because of that. He has threatened to tell his wife but he is not stupid enough to do that because if he does, I'm packing myself and the kids and we will hit the door. If he would just stand up and be a man, I wouldn't have to see someone else to get my needs met. What can I do to fix him and make our marriage more fulfilling? I know what I did is wrong b ut I'm not giving up this relationship with the neighbor unless my husband can prove to me that he is willing to step up and be the man that I need him to be.

What do you think?

My wife has recently been told by a friend that after she discovered her husband was having an affair and she confronted him over it. Her husband told her he wasn't going to stop his affair and that she should be grateful to be with him since according to him she is expletive ugly and no man would have her. He also told her she ought to just look after the kids and get over it while he visits his girlfriend.

Now before this be considered more appropriate for the Coping With Infidelity topic forum, this is a historical situation. Since it occurred around 40 years ago.

This couple are still married and have been so for over 50 years yet despite being outwardly happy together, much of this and what occurred after has not been addressed or resolved to the point that the hurt remains.

That doesn't mean there weren't consequences. In response my wife's friend decided to pay get revenge and prove him wrong that other men would want her, so she then had a number of sexual relationships with 8 other men (which she enjoyed with no regrets). While letting her husband know who she was seeing and going away for days at a time while he was left to look after the kids as he had done to her. Technically since her husband was informed she wasn't cheating, what she really hoped he would do was to want her and to demand a stop to it, yet he never cared what she did.

Yet they both remained together while raising successful children, living disconnected lives while remaining together without resolving the past. He refuses (as he has always done) to talk about it with her in anyway. While she more recently undertook individual counselling because what he did and said still hurt her to her core.

Today she's now on her way out through cancer, very recently she wrote a letter to tell her kids what happened yet has since destroyed it since after her cancer has come back vociferously (with months to live) she has accepted her husband will never resolve their past and that she doesn't want to upset her kids or have them think poorly of him.

I honestly have no problem with her doing what she did, whereas I am less sympathetic towards him. Then again I once threw a bucketful of cold water on my wife while she was showering in response to her throwing a cupful of cold water on me. I think my wife's friend is the type to use a bucket rather than a cup.

I'm just wondering what some of you think about this?

Ladies - some advice or thoughts please

Hi, new to the forum & would like some thoughts from women.
I am a 49yo guy who divorced after 20+ years of marriage. Several years later i consider myself very lucky to have met a great woman, also divorced. We get on great (have been together 3 yrs) but I find myself feeling a vague discomfort about our sex life. I had a couple of sexual partners before my marriage and several after my divorce but all were short term. I got to know my ex-wife's sexual likes and needs pretty well and was pretty confident that i could keep her happy in that department.
However, my current GF has quite different needs and I find myself a bit lost sometimes, as to how to satisfy her. She is definitely not sexually inhibited, but doesn't seem to get much out of oral sex (which I used to love to give, but get virtually no reaction from her). She seems to need very rough stimulation to reach orgasm and hands and rough intercourse will sometimes get her there.
I have mentioned my concerns although I never pressure her, and she assures me that she isn't frustrated even though she quite often won't orgasm.
I guess it sometimes leaves me feeling selfish, which reduces my enjoyment. I have no problem talking about sex openly but she doesn't seem comfortable and quickly changes the subject. I hate the thought of her being unsatisfied but too nice to tell me, or afraid I'll be offended if she says I need to do things a little differently.
Apologies for the long post, would love some feedback from a female perspective. Thanks.

Going Through with it -- but need advice

Six months ago I found out my husband of ten years had texted a prostitute. He claimed that "nothing happened," and insisted it was a terrible mistake. He promised it would never happen again and said he loved me and wanted to stay married. My trust was shattered, I was shaking, outraged, and blown away, since he appears to be a very "upstanding citizen." He admitted that he DID meet with women during our marriage, but said he "never had sex, never kissed anyone, and never had an emotional relationship." He said he wanted to renew our relationship, and promised to be faithful and devoted to me from that day on, and said he would make it up to me. He has appeared to be "trying." However, it's been six months since then, and over that time I decided to "keep my eyes open, mouth shut, and do not confront." I have become observant and began to notice things I hadn't noticed before. I ended up uncovering a six-year history of emails, dinners, hotels, c ondom purchases, and trips to meet with women during most of our marriage. That text that I found was only the tip of the iceberg of a secret life he was leading while I was at work and had no way of knowing his whereabouts and trusted him every minute. So here's where things stand. I have not let on to my husband that I met with both a lawyer and private investigator. They both claim if my husband has been faithful over the past six months, I have a weaker case for adultery. But if I can prove that he has met with women SINCE I first discovered the original text six months ago, that I can pursue adultery as a divorce claim. I am determined to divorce this liar, cheater and con artist but I want to be smart. I believe that he is currently continuing his behavior and thinks he has me fooled. The PI wants to follow him with a GPS device (at a cost of $1500 for two weeks surveillance), and I have been looking at past Credit card receipts (before the prostitute text) to f ind any real evidence of adultery, such as a motel receipt, and found one from 2009. That may not work, since he can claim that he has been faithful for the past six months. However, something incriminating happened around Valentine's Day. I found a pen from an expensive hotel at my husband's desk (he is anal about pens and uses only one). When I asked him about it he claimed he had gone there for a seminar but I checked and there were no recent seminars. Then a Victoria's Secret catalog arrived at our house a few days later, with a "Customer Number" in his 42-year old daughter's maiden name (so obviously someone made a purchase). Daughter said she did not order anything from VS, and has been using her married name on credit cards for 15 years. I looked up the VS online account but could find no account or order under any of my husband's or his daughter's email. At the same time, an LLBean order was made for men's clothes to be mailed to his office which is less than a mile away. He's obviously ordering clothes for himself which he does not keep at home. Is there a way to find out what he ordered from VS without knowing which email address? I am trying to keep this all quiet from him, because I want to gather as much evidence as possible before I confront him later in a divorce suit. I know I'll ultimately have to pay the PI, but what if husband doesn't meet anyone over those two-weeks time? I have to catch him. I am exhausted and just want this over with, but I don't want him to think he can just keep fooling me -- he thinks he's pretty clever. Please help.
