My boyfriend hates drinking and its ruining our relationship

Thank you in advance to anyone who bothers to read this!!

I've been with my boyfriend for about 15 months now, and we have a great relationship which we both want to be long term but he hates me drinking at parties or when I'm out with my friends. Just to clarify I don't drink that much, its not a problem I drink socially at gatherings/parties but know my limits and have never even been sick or done anything really stupid when drinking.

This has been going on for about a year now, and I have stopped drinking a few times to try and help him but it never seemed to get better. In November we were going to a friends party, and he didn't think I would be drinking because apparently I had promised him I wouldn't which I hadn't and when he saw me drinking he left and when I went after him he was shouting and getting upset, basically didn't want me to be with him and said it was over so I went back to the party and got his friends to go and check on him.

We were broken up for about a month (we break up quite a lot over this but for no more than a few days to a week usually) and I really missed him and he missed me, and we ended up getting back together on the condition that he went to the doctors to try and sort this out and I stopped in the mean time. I also have been keeping it a secret from my friends as they all dislike him and he doesn't like them either because of all this, I hate doing it but I didn't want to look like an idiot for the millionth time if he messed up again.

A month and a half on I haven't been drinking, but he still hasn't gone to the doctors and is saying its too hard. I've tried to reassure him etc but he wont go. We had a long talk about it on Friday because I was upset about it and just knowing he will break up with me if I drink doesn't make me feel loved or anything. My friend had a small gathering yesterday for her 18th which I went to and had a few drinks because he said he would try to deal with it for me, and try to put me first. When I got home last night he asked if I'd stopped and I said I hadn't and he is now really upset, saying I have broken my promise, don't love him etc, and now he's ignoring me.

I really don't know what to do I love him and want to be with him but I hate all of this, and don't know if he will ever move forward, but its so hard to let go and give up because the apart from this our relationship is so good. Any advice would be really appreciated, thank you :)

Why are most guys so ignorant when females go for another race ("SELLOUTS")?

Majority of guys can date a girl of any race but when a girl of their own race date outside, they contradict themselves and say they are sellouts or they start hating?

You get this with white guys saying this to white girls but a lot of white guys I know date outside their race lol. I am white, currently dating a Chinese girl, I noticed this with Chinese guys. But then I notice this is also how black and brown (e.g. indian, pakistani) guys behave too. Same with other races.

I am not as ignorant as other men and believe that girls can date anyone they want.

Why are rugby players so popular?

Just enjoying 6 Nations and wondering why rugby players seem so popular in dating stakes. Seen it with female friends and teams always seem to be cheered on by an adoring pack of complete babes. What's behind this and how can we learn from it? Afterall quite a lot of the players are a bit meat heady.

Have you made any 'close' friendships/relationships online?

  • How did it start and where did you meet?
  • When did you first meet (if you have)?
  • What were the first impressions you had of each other - did you expect them to 'be' like they were from your online friendship?
  • Did you meet again after this: in other words, did the relationship blossom beyond the first offline meeting?
  • How many friends do you have that you first met online?

Obviously you don't have to answer all of these, just want to get perspectives on here. :$

What should I do now ??

Hi guys.
I would appreciate some feedback/ advice on my current situation as I am I'm sitting here completely bewildered and lost.

My story started like most stories. Graduated from college, fell in love, got married, had a baby.

All of this happened with in 4 years and we have been married for 3 years.

My husband is a serial online cheater. Every single time I would find out he would beg me and cry his eyes out and silly me always forgave him.
I notice since all of this started he would criticise every single thing I do. He would tell me how the house is filthy and how I should not bother to make food as it so tasteless.

Now this is the man that has 3 course meal waiting for him after work almost every night and I spend 3 hours cleaning my house everyday.
Needless to say I feel small, low, useless. Here is the kicker I am a stay at home mum and I PAY ALL THE BILLS.

He has a extremely good job that pays very well, yet he does not contribute to anything and claims he is saving for our family and we should use my family inheritance to manage for now. This has been going on for 2 years.

The reason I'm here is on Thursday he come home from work packed up all of his things and left. He told me he could not live like this anymore I'm a horrible wife and mother and that I'm just useless and he refuses to carry my throughout life. We haven't seen him since then.

My question to you guys is

1 what do you think of my situation
2 what should I do next

Ps. Excuse my name it was made a long time ago.

Just a problem

I am worried my spouse could have read this post. I tried to change stuff but the story is still too similar to our story. I will try to find help elsewhere.
Thanx!

Away for Cancer Treatment

Hi, I'm going in for my first autogolous stem cell transplant as the next stage in my aggressive treatment for multiple myeloma, presently considered as an incurable bone marrow cancer. In short, they draw out your own stem cells, freeze 'em, give you high-dose chemo (to kill your marrow), then ingraft your stems back to regrow your marrow.

Some risks involved, but not as risky as allogeneic version which uses donor stem cells; I do that two months AFTER I recover from this. I have high risk category and younger than most sufferers, thus the extreme, one-two punch attack.

Could use your thoughts and prayers, even for a brief second right now before you forget.

Seriously, this little community has been a lift for me after my own personal struggles and it has been healing to me to offer my thoughts and advice...so thanks for the interaction and I hope to be interacting again soon.

My best to you all on your journeys,
See you soon,
FormerSelf

Opinions/Advice Appreciated. Is This "Fair"?

I am in need of some advice regarding my ongoing divorce and my seemingly "dismissive" attorney... I feel like I'm getting screwed left and right... :/

My Attorney dismisses my inquiries regarding filing and acknowledging my soon to be ex-husband's multiple violations of the temporary domestic order, which he was given upon filing divorce in Sept, 2013.

Violations include:

* Refusal to allow me access to my necessary belongings within 15 days of the date of request. (Request is in writing and dated). I spent 6 months living out of a suitcase - LITERALLY.

* Damaging my property by placing it outdoors for two months where it was exposed to sun, wind, dirt, rain and snow. Not salvageable.

* Forcing me out of our marital home by changing the locks, without adequate notice and despite the temporary domestic order's recommendations NOT to do so and to seek a "fair" decision regarding who leaves the marital home. Forcible eviction without a court order or eviction notice.

My Attorney has refused to provide requested information regarding "Marital Torts". Instead says this is not cost-effective for me. Does not seem interested in my reasons or ideas regarding this.

(Grounds for Marital Torts can be debated here, I am interested in objective feedback).

My Attorney says unless the property that was damaged by my ex was worth "thousands of dollars" it is counterproductive to seek compensation.

My Attorney permitted me to enter a "Timesharing and Support" Hearing without being advised or prepared to discuss financial matters, including debts and community property.

My Attorney advised me prior to the Hearing to allow him to speak on my behalf and for me to speak as little as possible.

During the Hearing I attempted to raise concerns regarding the credit card debt and value of the car and was literally "shushed" by my attorney. My ex's attorney proposed a "trade-in" value of "our" 96 Subaru Legacy Wagon of $1,000. Kelley Blue Book value of this vehicle in "Fair" (the lowest condition given) is $1,727.00. (Had I known we would be discussing these matters I would have conducted research prior to the Hearing).

During the Hearing, my ex's attorney decided that "our" vehicle was valued at approximately $1,000. We paid $2,200 for the vehicle and made various repairs to it to increase it's value/functionality and longevity. Repairs included replacing of the water pump and radiator.

* Parts for the vehicle may have been purchased one month prior to filing for divorce, using my ex's credit card, of which I am not a co-owner of the account nor was I EVER permitted to use.

* The credit card account existed prior to our marriage and it's existence was withheld from me for over a year after our marriage.

* I am being asked to pay half of the "alleged" credit card debt without having seen proof of the debt, debt amount, or an itemized credit card statement. Additionally, the credit card may have been used to purchase gifts for me, (in February and March 2013) and/or items that were repaid in cash (such as rental cars for my mom and step-dad that required a credit card deposit were repaid in cash).

During the agreed upon date to collect my belongings, my ex refused to permit me entry into our marital home, even though I am still listed on the lease and thus eventually caused me increased financial and emotional distress by requiring MULTIPLE trips between TWO cities to collect ALL of my possessions. As of this date, 3 trips have been made and not all of my belongings have been collected.

The possessions my ex placed outdoors and permitted to become damaged were not collected when I got some of my possessions, and now HIS attorney is seeking "disposal fees" for those items.

Requests to my attorney to consider "Interim Spousal Support/Child Support" denied, no reason given, does not want to discuss.

Summary:

My ex stays in the marital home.

Keeps the car.

Requires I pay for half a credit card debt, of which proof and amount have not been provided.

Refuses to pay child support agreed upon in the "Timesharing and Support" Hearing in December.

Destroyed property belonging to me, and now asks that I pay for the disposal of such property.

Commits multiple violations of the Temporary Domestic Order and not held accountable for such actions.

Etc. Etc.

I am sure I am forgetting to mention multiple things here, but this is a start.

Is my attorney being lazy? Trying to be helpful because we are low in-come? Taking advantage?

I MUST make it aware that my Attorney IS working with us on payment arrangements... Thus I feel I may be biting the hand that feeds me by voicing my concerns...

What do you think? Am I asking for, or expecting too much? Am I getting screwed here?

Thanks in advance for reading my ramblings...

Should I ask the girl at the bar out?

I've been speaking to this girl who works at my local bar for a while now. She's very friendly and we share decent conversation, although I respect that it's her job to be nice to customers. She asks how I'm getting on at uni, regularly smiles and sometimes I catch her looking at me. The other day when I ordered my drink, I said to her 'if you get five minutes later for a chat that would be cool' she replied 'yeah that would be cool'. She never came over, although it was Friday night and rather busy, when she came to clear some glasses near my table she asked me if I was alright. I was wondering if it was worth asking her out sometime?

Why do some guys flirt but don't go any further?

So, this is a situation that's been bugging me.

There's this man at work and i am attracted to him for sure. We've known each other for about 2ish years and he flirts with me constantly. You know the deal, calls me a cute nickname, constantly finding reasons to touch me, walks to places with me, tells me what a good boyfriend he would make, always wants to sit with me, and flirts crazy when we're alone, and more. But that's all it gets. He doesn't text or ring me. I feel a spark between us whenever we're together but he never takes it further. He's quite...hmm...well i say 'geeky' but not really, and hasn't had a girlfriend in aaagggeeesss and I'm pretty willing. Obviously he isn't.

Sorry that its a TL;DR situation here, but what I'm asking is, why does he flirt if he has no other intentions??

Confused and scared about falling in love...

Heyy guys

I've known this guy for a couple years and though we aren't "official" we are around together often. We are close friends but we are attracted to each other at the same time. He's tried to make a move more than once but I kept brushing him off because I don't feel ready, only because I haven't been in a proper relationship before and feel scared of the prospect of falling hard for him.

It's fair to say we know each other very well but I don't think I know him as well as I'd like to to get involved with him (but that's because I was scared of getting involved in the first place). I'm also a virgin (because I like the idea of saving myself for the one I love so please don't judge) so I'm pretty experienced.

Out of the blue, he proposed to me recently. I was scared ****less. You don't understand how shocked and scared I was because it was unexpected and I felt rushed and not ready. Plus, we're not "intimate" and I think we should get to know each other better. I don't know if I love him or not because I'm fighting against the idea. I wanted to "have fun" and not get tied down so soon and at a young age like this (I'm 18).
I think most of my reservations toward him stem from the fact that I don't know him as well as I'd like to and because he's extremely good-looking. I feel so out of his league and it was something many girls have snidely commented on before which doesn't make me feel great. I'm only average looking (fair, black hair, brown eyes, 5'1) and he's got the typical European/American looks and is quite tall so I feel way out of my league. We're like opposites and I don't know if we match. I can't help thinking I'm not good enough or that he'll change his mind sometime and I'll just end up hurt.

I told him that it was too soon (my dad heard about his proposal and nearly beat him up because he didn't want me to get married at 18 or any time soon for that matter), but he insisted that we could get engaged for the time being and get to know each other better in the process. He said marriage can wait a few years. But what if I'm wrong about this? I do have strong feelings towards him but I keep supressing them, saying that they're just hormones. I've always dreamt of falling in love but now that it can become a reality I'm just scared :o I know you probably think I'm just being stupid and need to toughen up but I can't help it.

I don't know how to tell him that I'm willing to reconsider his proposal (I flat out refused but he keeps asking me again and again) after a year or so and after we spend more time together, but I think that there must be a point where he will just give up thinking I'm simply not interested. I don't want to keep him hanging but I also don't want to lose him. It's all very selfish I know :o (that's why I'm making the post anonymous)

How can I be sure that this is the guy for me and that I actually love him and it's not an infatuation/lust?
How can I get to know him better because he's going abroad to Poland soon to study and I probably won't see him for 2 years except for holidays?

Thank you to anyone who contributes or helps!

Am I being too paranoid?

I just need to get a load of my chest...
I'm a 17 y/o girl and I've been worrying all day!
I'm really worried about my friend. I woke up this morning with most horrible feeling that something had happened to him or that today wasnt going to be a normal day. So I told him and he said 'don't worry nothings going to happen to me'. But he's been gone for a 4 hours after he said he'd be back in 10-15 mins... He doesn't usually do that. I'm just worried incase somethings happened to him, he's always breaking something or the other but still. I just hope nothings happened to him and I'm just being very paranoid about it all... We both like each other and we both know that and we both care for each other a lot and I just :cry2:

Sorry for the awfully long message... But do you guys just think I'm being too paranoid? :S
