Need Advice - Marriage Trouble - Young Kids

Hello Everyone,

I've stumbled across this website while seeking advice about conflict in my marriage with my wife, I feel somewhat awkward asking for advice/thoughts on the trouble in our marriage from strangers but feel in this case it may be good to get advice from people not involved, I usually turn to family for advice when I am dealing with hard situations and need advice but I feel any advice my family would give me would be biased and may indeed make the situation worse, I plan to seek help from a therapist or marriage counselour in the near future. This may be a long opening post but I want to share as much as possible in order to have other gain a decent insight into our marriage.

My wife and I will have been married for 4 years in April, we have a 2.5 year old son and another on the way, before marrying we had a long distance relationship for about 2 years with her living in Mexico and me in the U.S, I would see her every few months during this time when I would visit family as I am also from Mexico, she is 26 and I am 27, she lived in Mexico all her life up until marriage , I've lived in the U.S since I was around 7 years old but basically grew up in a Mexican household and visited Mexico often.

Our marriage has not been easy, during our first year we had many arguments about many little things as we adjusted to each other and as she adjusted to life in the United States, however one of the constant trouble points in our marriage has been my relationship with my family in the eyes of my wife I believe, it seems every time we visit my family there is some argument between her and I about things that are insignificant such as where to eat at, what to eat, etc. This has been happening for the entire 4 years now and it's brought about a severe crisis in our marriage, these little arguments do not tend to happen when we are not in the physical presence of my family so it really mystifies me why it only happens when in the presence of my family, this has really strained her relationship with my family as they are "tired" of all her drama and have relayed to me that they wish to no longer to participate with her in any type of activities. She doesn't have any outright confl ict directly with family members but rather seems to focus her anger/displeasure at me at little things especially me changing my mind about something while we are with family, if we are by ourselves there is no issue with me changing my mind or deciding what to eat etc, there was some of that the first years of the relationship but she has learned that it's one of the parts of who I am and she mostly laughs it off or shakes her head when I do this.

Last weekend when we visited my sister for my Brother in Laws birthday, it was mostly my wife's idea to go, her and I had a huge argument after we left in a hurry on Sunday morning because I changed my mind about breakfast, we were originally going to eat at Restaurant A.(everyone present agreed) on recommendation of my sister but later I switched to getting a take home breakfast. because my brother whom was present didn't want to go to A, in order to be diplomatic I said ok we can eat breakfast here, this seemed to upset/anger my wife tremendously and she became upset and retreated to bedroom we were sleeping in. I was shocked at this as it was just breakfast(my attitude was who cares what we eat), and became very frustrated because this was about the 7th or 8th time something like has happened over were/what to eat in the last 12 months while in the presence of family.

Now I'm not dumb enough to believe that this is really over were to eat/what to eat , I feel like she is trying to tell me something via these arguments when in the presence of family but has been unwilling to verbalize it because she knows how close to my family I am, this I've just realized after deep thinking on the issue all week. I've thought that perhaps she has BPD at times or some other disorder because these arguments tend to come out of nowhere and the anger tends to be quick but this only happens when in the presence of my extended family not hers. I've also thought perhaps this was due to her father and mother splitting when she was just a baby, and as a consequence she has never had a relationship with him, this is what my family tends to think that it has something to do with her not having a "stable home". She has confessed when she was younger in her teenage years she was quick to anger, and during these arguments has expressed that "we think our family is per fect" vs "hers", etc. These arguments tend to get very bad and hurtful things are said as I have a strong relationship with my family and I defend their actions it's been the only issue in our marriage that I have refused to budge an inch on.

I'm now coming to the realization that perhaps I have an improper relationship with my family(parents, siblings) at my current stage in life, and it is no longer healthy even though they all love me and respect me very much, my personal boundaries with them are not very high/hardly present and there has been much turmoil with a younger brother of mine in which I have been expected to help out emotionally/financially and I have done so for the entire time we have been married, I'm thinking that perhaps my wife has realized this/picked up on it from the beginning of our marriage and it's manifested itself with the outbursts, she does not act out with extended family such as my grandmothers/uncles etc. with whom I do tend to have boundaries.

I feel dumb about saying this but I had never really thought about the above until our last argument, what prompted me to consider this is that over the holidays in Mexico even I got tired of all the drama with my brother/parents and was thinking perhaps it was better to get away from all this drama for awhile and let them be , for my own emotional health and my son and the baby coming, I'm now thinking how my wife must have felt all these years dealing with all this stuff and the constant drama and the emotional energy it may have robbed her and now my kids.

Does anyone think I'm thinking about this the right way? It's going to be hard for me to set some personal boundaries with my parents/sibblings but I'm willing to do it to save my current marriage. I don't know if my wife has a disorder or not, I'm starting to lean no at this point, she is pretty constant on everything else but this, I don't have any other marriages to compare my situation to other than my parents which is not the marriage I want to model mine after, so it's hard that's why I am asking for your advice. We are both currently on break , she has left to visit family in Mexico for about a month to take a break from things and we are both willing to work at the marriage but I would like some viewpoints to decide how to proceed, doing the same is not an option as I firmly believe we will get the same results, as we have both agreed it's better to split if we can't reconcile this difference. All of this may sound childish coming from a 27 year old but unfortunately the models I was raised with in terms of relationships may not work in our marriage as my spouse has very little if any family in the U.S, in Mexico these things tend to not become such an issue due to cultural norms/very social country so there are lots of "relief valves" but we aren't in Mexico anymore so we may have to adapt.

Does anyone know if Johnny Galecki has a religion or believes in God?

Was he raised in a religion and did he go to church when he was younger?

It seemed so minor...

I'm going to ask a question to the ladies but let me set some parameters.
1) You and husband dated five years before marriage.
2) Your husband has a lifetime hobby of photography.
3) You are 49 but look 39 at most. You're 5' 6" 120 pounds with firm breast, great legs, real nice butt and long blonde "never a bad day" hair.
4) Dating was a sexual adventure. Sex on the hotel balcony, shopping days with you in a sun dress and high heels (that's all folks), and multiple "have to learn to walk again" orgasms every time you get together.
Now, married for 3 months, your husband asks you to pose for some semi-nude (maybe later nude) photographs. He can develope and print at home. What is your response?

I'll talk later about what happened with us and the problems it caused.

How depressed did the affair make you?

I lost 40 pounds and got very 'I don't care if I wake up in the morning'. Anti-depressants did not help me. A light sedative seems to help when I can't cope but I don't take them continually.

Why would I want to ask about my wife's sexual past?

I see the title and I think that maybe this is a rhetorical question.

I see so many threads from posters who are struggling with the knowledge they have gained about their SO's sexual past and I wonder why why why does it even matter?

My wife was married twice before me. I was more concerned with why she got divorced than I was with what she did in bed with them, or what she did in bed with any other guy.

Maybe it is just confidence, maybe it is just that I accept that she is a sexual being - but the only question I asked was whether she was healthy - or whether I needed to be concerned about safe sex.

I don't care at all to know the details. I am not afraid of anything - I just figure why put her on the spot and really, again, what difference does it make?

I see guys and gals opening themselves up for big hurt and disappointments by going down this disclosure road.

I will just enjoy the fruits of whatever she did in the past. She is very good in bed, and I enjoy her. I am not going to ask her who taught her how to do this or that. There are some things I want to teach her myself and I do not care to say that such and such girlfriend did this. She only needs to know that I like it.

I think this might just be a rhetorical blurt on my part but if anyone else wants to give their opinion I would be interested in reading it.

Am I handling this appropriately?

Background...For the past year my husband has been having a difficult time sexually either not being able to orgasm, or not being able to maintain an erection. He says it is not me when I ask so I accepted that as an answer but I still worried. Now that he is working the night shift there is no time for us we see each other any where between 3- 9 hours a week. The other day I asked if how long he would last meaning do you have time. He said no that he masturbated that morning. Well, I don't have a problem with masturbating if anything I encourage it but since we are no longer having sex regularly it is concerning. He has never initiated because he says i always tell him no which is absolutely not true. I'm sure I've said no because I was too tired or not feeling well. He says there is only so many times he can be rejected. I think he needs to be able to tell the difference between "feeling" rejected and being rejected. I think it is very immatur e of him and again its deflecting the problems blame on ME. So I asked him if he had been watching porn because I have been against it from the beginning of our marriage and we have had problems with it in the past and he agreed to not do it again out of respect for my feelings. I even went as far last time to say, "I'm here if you want it ask for it! If I catch you again I may file for divorce." Well, since I asked him and he said no I knew he was lying because I gave him dirty pictures of me to look at for that reason. I knew he was lying so I snooped and found sites through flash cookies. I confronted him and told him just because he is in incognito mode I can still see what sites he has visited through those shared objects and then he said yeah I did look at it but only for research when i hear a new term like oral cream pie. I said there are more pages then research. Then he said maybe its because he lets people use his phone at work in the shower house when they are hanging out and saying, hey have you seen that video, they use his phone. I replied you must think i am sooooo stupid. Whenever you want to treat me like a smart adult that is your wife then you can talk to me. He said, i don't know what the big deal is its not like its affecting our relationship. Wow, does he really mean that? we have gone through this already. I said to him, that nice wife that is loving and supportive and does everything for you is gone until you want to be honest with me. I was leaving for the weekend to visit his folks so i said don't expect to hear from me. FYI, i ask him to email me while he is at work so we can keep in touch and i won't feel so lonely in our marriage and he never does unless he is horny talking about what he wants to do to me every blue moon. then he emailed me last night saying his night isn't going good how about mine? he always acts like this after an argument, like nothing has happened.

now my question. Am i handling this right by ignoring him? I feel that is abusive as well. What would be some healthy ways to handle this? Today is my birthday, and I doubt he will tell me happy birthday. I never get gifts, or cards, it seems the whole world revolves around him all the time, and everything is either my fault or there is some valid excuse for everything. I am considering a divorce this time because it is getting to be more difficult for me to forgive or have any patience especially when so many things are the matter and not getting any better.

TAXES :slap:

So informally seperated since Nov '13. Have 9 month old. Have a house and mortgage together. I made 17k last year. He made 23k. I would like to file married but seperate, because I do not wish to split my tax refund with STBXH. He is already selling things that were our together, I'd rather keep what money I can and move on.
I have custody of our son, and will soon be recieving child support as we just went to court. I will be moving into a new apt the 1st.
Is it finacially benefical to me to file married but seperate? I would like to think that I can claim our son and child care as well as my student loan interest.
That would leave him to claim mortgage interest, land tax, and possibly Head of Household.

Would i get more back on my own? Can I file Head of Household? Or would it be worth it to suck it up and file our taxes together?
Right now theres still an order of protection, but Im sure he would demand to know what we would get back and want half.
I'd like to pay off back medical bills resulting from our son, etc, so I can get the bill collecters to stop calling and start fresh once we get seperated/divorced.

Sorry its so long. Im just not sure what to do. I plan on filing my own taxes online.

And I thought things were getting better!!

I have posted here before about some problems I have been having with my husband. But over the last 2 months things seem to have been going in the right direction. We had a 2 week holiday which actually went really well and when he was away working, phoning every night on skype, it has been good and not strained like before.

A bit of background -together 23 years, married 20. 2 daughters 10 and 15. Hubby works overseas 4 weeks away and 4 weeks home and has always worked away.

He came home early Thursday morning and things wee normal and all happy to see each other. Friday was spent together running a few errands and then in the pool in the afternoon having a few ****tails. everything was really nice and relaxing. One of our neighbours popped round without his wife so hubby is like "where is she" and goes to visit. Our eldest goes too which happens often.

Anyway D comes homes and says that dad is complaining to friend that can make his own decisions, do what he wants, feels like a stranger in his own home, etc. I was a bit shocked by this but said I would speak to him. H comes home and I calmly asked what he was talking about and that if there were any problems why didnt he tell me. That when he kicked off. Shouting at me, saying that I told him to leave (which I never have), being really aggressive and angry toward our daughter.

He came to bed but got up about 30 mins later and slammed the bedroom door. I followed and asked him why he was outside (with a beer) and was told "I am going to kick her out the house". Calmly again I said that she told me as she was worried why he was being like this. I got no answer and left him outside. He fell asleep out there and came to bed during the night.

Today I feel so angry and hurt and , right or wrong, I have hardly spoken to him. He took our youngest D out for awhile and for lunch but he has not spoken or even looked at our eldest. He has also spent the last 9 1/2 hours outside by himself drinking beer, only coming in to use the toilet.

I am so confused. He says he struggles to fit in but makes no or little effort. He drinks 10 - 15 beers every night when home (cant drink at work which he constantly tells me). The kids keep asking him to not drink so much so they can do stuff but he digs his heels in and refuses. "Your not telling me what to do" When I try to start a conversation about stuff he gets angry, aggressive and tries to intimidate, esp the kids. Our eldest D has disliked him for months now but he doesnt feel he needs to try to mend bridges and expects her or us to make the first move to apologise.

Does he want to try, doesnt know how to try, or is just a child? I really dont know anymore.

Feeling... down? (girls and stuff)

Ok, probably the only reason i'm posting this is because i'm quite drunk right now
Anyway for the past two weeks or so i've been feeling sort of down, and the reason is I simply don't feel i'm close to any girls
Sure i've got enough friends who are girls, but i've never been in a relationship and i'm suddenly feeling the need for something meaningful and i've no idea why
I get plenty of attention from the opposite sex but the majority of those that give me that I mostly don't find that attractive (maybe i'm too picky idk) or they're not my type, and whenever I feel I have actually have something with a girl it I genuinely like it quickly just crumbles for no apparent reason
I've have no problem getting one night stands either, but it's got too a point where they're just not fulfilling and I'm wanting something more
I don't why i'm telling you this since i'm not really asking any questions but I felt the need to vent. Which I hardly ever do. I haven't talked to anyone about this sort of thing irl just because i'd feel embarrassed. I feel lonely even though i'm not lacking in the friends department, it's weird.
Tbh half the time I don't remember if i'm hiding or i'm lost
Peace out tsr x

Opinion of guys that go to the gym?

For both guys and girls?

I feel that guys that do not go gym have a negative view on those that do.
And also girls that do not go gym have a negative view on guys that do e.g. they are full of themselves - ego, care too much about their appearance, spend too much time at the gym etc.

I know going to the gym will not make it easier for relationships but there seems to be a negative stigma attached to it? So it actually makes it even hard to get into a relationship?

"Everyone says ..." - how to deal with emotional argument like this.

When you confront someone about something they did (assuming something bad), and when they blasted back saying something obscure like:
-Well people have been saying about you ...
-Everyone says you ...
-The administrators say you ..
-The teachers say you ...

etc., how would you respond? The above are of course obscure since we don't know who these "mentioned people" are and the person who's mentioning this could be lying or just trying to provoke you.

he says we're not FWB. what are we?!

I've been involved with a guy for the past 4 months, he kisses, we've been errr intimate etc. I thought I was a FWB but he says I'm not. We have lots of mutual friends none of whom suspect a thing :/ We make up random excuses to meet once a week...I've met his roommates and he told at least another friend about me.

Example: last week, I told him I was doing something in town with a mutual friend, he replied and said he wanted to meet up with me for lunch
Example: after spending the night, he gives me a ride back, and hugs me while planting a kiss on my neck.
Example: when we're at a grocery store, he always gets out his credit card and pays for both of us. Are we dating? (I've been hurt in the past, and I want opinions before asking him myself).....

I don't know what to do.

So last term I told my housemate and friend about my feelings for her. After she found out about my feelings for her said that I was cute and she liked me a lot, well she wrote that to me in a card or something. I didn't get the card then she said the same thing to me in a WhatsApp message but added that she was not sure of her feelings for me. So before this term started we went out for coffee. She seemed to enjoy going out with me and I asked her if she was interested in going on a second date. I asked her in person and she said yes while smiling.
We, however, were awkward around each other for the whole time we "dated" each other and it didn't even seem like we were friends sometimes. I told her how I hate how awkward it was between us in a Facebook message because I told her I wanted to talk to several times that day and she kinda avoided me, or we didn't have any opportunities to talk alone. The following morning she sent me message back saying that she wants us to go back to being friends because she does miss how things used to be before she "****ed" everything up. She also said that I deserve someone better, that I'm one of her best friends so she doesn't want me to get hurt especially by her.
I talked to her in person about her message straight after seeing the message and said she's not interested anymore. She doesn't feel same way about me as I feel about her, and doesn't want to lead me on. She even used the line "it's not you it's me" and said she actually meant it in this case even though it's a bull**** phrase most of the time. Then she again said I'm too good for her or something, and I'm awesome and amazing, then implied that she's not a good person, which confused the hell outta me, plus she said doesn't have time to date people because she has a lot going on, or something to that effect.
I asked her if we took things uber slow would she reconsider dating me and she said no. I then I asked her when she knew she didn't want to continue dating me and she said she didn't know, which was a dodgy response imo. She also got a bit teary when I asked her one of the questions, I forgot which one.
The thing is she rarely gives me eye contact during group conversations when she's speaking and I don't understand why. She looks at everyone and I give her contact, but she rarely looks at me. When she does look at me she doesn't really look scared so I don't think I make her nervous, but I don't know what else it could be. When we're talking alone she does make eye contact, and I'm, like, the only in the house she talks to about her emotions. I think she only told me that she had social anxiety, even though several of us in the house have it too. I was also the first one in the house she came out to even though I knew she liked girls before and she says she enjoys talking to me, but in group conversations we never talk and she seems to not acknowledge my existence.
I'm am sad about the fact that we're not continuing to date each other, but I think I'll get over it relatively easy and I'm not harboring any bad thoughts towards her because she's hard to get and stay mad at and I respect her decision, but I'm just confused about her reasons for not continuing dating me, well I'm unsure about the validity of them or something and I'm definitely confused about why she'll hardly look at me in group conversations when she'll give everyone else plenty of eye contact. It doesn't make sense for someone to do to that to a person they call their best friend.
Should I talk to her again about things, or just the fact that she not giving me eye contact confuses me?

how to kepp quiet about my crush?

I have a tendency to ask my friends about what I should do when I have a crush and their advice is not always useful. Also they always ask who it is and I somehow reveal it. This causes me to lose that guy as a friend.

I have recently began thinking about someone who I only have one class with, I never used to like him as a friend but recently I began thinking of him as more than a friend, even thinking of having my first kiss with him??

On Friday we were talking about work in the lesson and when we were talking opposite each other it was ok, but when he came and sat next to me it was different.
