So I met this girl via an online dating website (okcupid).
From my understanding, its about finding people you might be interested in and messaging them. If you dont get a response/reply back then the person isn't interested etc. Anyway I came across the profile of this girl I thought i'd really like, we seemed to have a lot in common and i found her attractive. we're both 21 and don't live too far away.
I sent her a message, hoping to get to know her etc.
I got a notification the same day saying she'd viewed my profile but I didn't get a response so i assumed she wasn't interested.
Skip to a day later and I get a reply from her all of a sudden, really friendly and responsive. I was surprised since I initially thought she wasn't interested. We spoke for quite a bit and it seemed to really hit it off. we exchanged numbers and added eachother on facebook. We spent the whole night talking on facebook, sharing stories and just getting to know each other. it was all really encouraging and she was really responsive, I was pretty happy about it thinking I'd finally found a match.
We chatted for a long time til quite late, about 2am and she we both enjoyed talking to eachother. she asked me a question about hobbies but she suddenly didnt reply to my last message so i assumed she'd fallen asleep since it was quite late.
Anyway the next morning I expected to get a message like 'oops sorry i fell asleep!' or something but got nothing. And it wont show me if the my last message was read. She hasn't blocked me or anything, i just found it quite shocking and abrupt, seeing as she seemed to really like talking for so long and had initiated everything.
I'm feeling pretty down because I dont know what to think. Meeting on a dating website would imply we both have the same goal in terms of finding a relationship and there's no reason she would have initiated things, added me on facebook and spent so many hours chatting with me so enthusiastically if she wasn't interested. I'm mainly down because I dont even know if she's ignoring me or not or just hasn't seen my message, hasn't had a chance to log in in a while. I just hope I didn't get my hopes up for no reason.
