I think my ex split up with her boyfriend

Turns out my ex's new boyfriend of a week was sending out derogatory texts about her to people. She found out, and she's been down in the dumps the past couple of days. I've tried cheering her up - no dice. Was messing about on Skype, and the video messages. Did a stupid one, and when she get's it, she says it wasn't even funny and was a waste of time. She said "this is why you aren't cool". Now that would have cheered her up, but clearly not at the moment. So anyway, she then tell's me she's still hurting because someone she fell for so quickly apparently hated her and she can't deal with it. I still don't know if they've split up, but from this message am presuming so. I know she's my ex, but I don't like to see her in such a bad way. What can I do to, I dunno, just be there for her? She want's to be on her own, which I get, but at the same time, I'm worried that she isn't dealing with it very well. What should I do, or should I just back off and leave her to it?
