Why Do We Call Cheaters "Waywards"??

I have always wondered why cheaters are referred to by their spouses/SO as "Waywards".:scratchhead: Its like calling someone who is Lost in the mountains..."Geographically Challenged"!! :rolleyes: I guess in order to recover with a cheater we have to put a pretty little "Bow" around their actions!!
