I Cloud

I need to be educated a bit about the cloud. My wife uses apple products and I am a PC guy. Last night I was downloading some updates on my itunes and noticed a bunch of stuff that was imported from someone's cloud. I am not necessarily saying that it is my wifes but I guess I am interested in knowing how to access this stuff from her Ipad. She has been deleting history recently and I want to make sure my hunch is just paranoia. I would appreciate anyone's help.
