Political Labeling

I am sure there was a thread on here an hour ago about Political Labeling. I had to go out on an incident and now that I am back I can't find it. It may have been removed for getting out of hand so I would ask that we all play nicely.

Still here (if anyone is interested) are my views on the subject.

The Two Party politics (as found in the US and to a lesser extent here in the UK) does lead to more "Them & Us" labeling.
I do not feel that this is an accurate way to represent people's views but it is convenient to drop people into boxes. (If you believe so and so you must be a supporter of X party if not then your Y).

For most people it is more complicated, we are all individuals whose views and opinions have been shaped our upbringing, our education, the society in which we live and our own experiences.

I believe that most educated people are able to form an opinion on most given questions but if you were to ask a panel off 100 people the same 100 yes / no questions It would be unlikely (unless the panel was biased) that you would find many that answered all the questions identically (perhaps we have a math's master on here who could tell us the odds).

With this in mind I find it unlikely that there are many people who fully support all the views of any one political party.

For myself I know that when choosing which person / party to vote for in an election I vote for the one with whom I agree on the greatest number of issues. I know of others who vote for whomever they feel has the best chance of defeating the party they disagree with on the most issues. I think both are valid systems. I do know that some people will vote along party lines without bothering to even find out what that party thinks on issues but hopefully they are in a minority.

One of my controversial personal opinions that I have yet to find a party that is prepared to put in their manifesto is:

You should have to pass an IQ test (say a minimum score of 75) to get the right to vote.
