Okay, for once I'm totally stumped!

Okay, first a bit of a back story... So around about 9 years ago I start a new job and over a few months I meet two girls through work one who I end up almost marrying, having two kids with but ultimately broke up with as she became violent towards me etc. I met Lucy first, she was great about 8 years older than me but we got on like a house on fire, due to working in different departments though we didn't get to spend a massive amount of time talking but it was obvious we both where attracted to one another.... Shortly after starting there though I was promoted and then met Sally, who became the now ex partner as mentioned above, we hit it off like mad and I really liked her too but due to the amount of time we had to spend together, she was responsible for bringing me up to speed, we ended up pretty much at it like rabbits out of work... I still really liked Lucy, we'd never done anything other than talk, though but I wasn't the kinda guy to string someone a long and she wasn't the type to pursue a taken man so we talked and eventually the friendship drifted apart.... but there was always that attraction still there.... slightly too long glances etc but we stopped speaking... After a few years the company went bust, I went to work for a larger firm and I totally lost touch with Lucy... Fast forward to last week, just totally out of the blue I get a message from Lucy on Facebook and we start chatting... reconnecting after 7 or 8 years and there is still that undeniable attraction between us. She texts me first thing in the morning, last thing at night and texting, flirting, speaking on the phone almost all day everyday since except when she or I are at work or asleep... As it turns out we are both single, so I ask her on a date for this coming Friday which she agrees too and we both keep on with the flirting etc. Then totally out of nowhere I get sucker punched, she'd been telling me why she works out so hard, wanting an amazing body she can be proud of etc and I complimenting her on it, nothing tacky just that she looks amazing when she comes out with "I'm not looking for anything and just want to be friends" Okay that confuses the hell out of me but she doesn't owe me anything so I replied that it was fine, that I'd understand if she wanted to cancel on Friday night but I'd still like to take her out and spend some time with her... She doesn't cancel and says how much she's looking forward to seeing me, I made a joke about how when girls normally use the "lets be friends" line they don't usually still go out on dates with the bloke... which she laughed off and stated again she was looking forward to seeing me after all this time... So now I'm genuinely confused, I don't believe for one minute I've totally gotten the wrong end of the stick, she's basically pursued me since getting back in touch being very flirty and acting rather keen.... So to come out with this friends thing has left me confused, is it some sort of test? is she playing the cautious game? Is she just wanting friends with benefits or have I actually completely misjudged the situation and she just wants to reconnect with an old friend or worse still is it an ego boost she wants? She never seemed like the type for dicking people about, and still seems like the same woman now I'm 30 she's 38, and she agreed to go on a date.... there was no confusion about what that was.... Any advice would be a big help guys....
