Anyone a card carrying member of the Libertarian Party?

I used to be a Republican and quit the party after the last presidential election. That was simply the straw that broke the camel's back. I've been on a journey out of the GOP for years now, and finally pulled the trigger on becoming a Libertarian.

Not all Libertarians believe in the same things, but on the most important ones we do. One area that I seriously have an issue with is the majority view that abortion should be legal and acceptable. I disagree with this emphatically. I try to apply the litmus test outlined in the Declaration of Independence - specifically the line about preserving "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". IMHO, abortion removes those rights from an individual. I also oppose it on moral and (as of now) religious grounds too. But my first argument that I think is based on reason is the one that I think is logical for anyone wanting to look at issues without using a religious framework.

Anyone else a Libertarian or a libertarian who is a member of another political party?
