Paranoid boyfriend, is this normal or am I being too harsh?

Hey everybody! Hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weather! Any way to get straight to the point... This year I started University and made many new friends there including my boyfriend. I love my boyfriend more than anything in the world. I would never do anything to hurt him, I know it from the bottom of my heart. He's the person I'd like to marry one day. Quite a few of my new friends live in Italy. One of my best friends has a house by the sea in Italy and he invited me and my sister to stay there in 2 weeks time for one week. I booked the flights for both because they were really cheap but I only briefly mentioned the idea to my boyfriend and then booked them. After I told him I was going he was ridiculously upset and we argued quite a lot. He's really paranoid in case I dance with another boy at the beach party or if the Italians are quite touchy-feely with me on the beach because afterall Italians are well known for being quite flirty. He also feels quite uncomfortable about me staying at my friends house because he is a boy. Me and my sister would sleep in a different room to him and there is no way I would ever fancy him anyway. Is it wrong that I'm going on holiday and staying at another boy's house in Italy without him or is it normal? I don't know whether to feel guilty or not or even cancel the flights because I would do that for him. This has caused a lot of arguments the last week or so. I'm really worried in case our relationship will start breaking apart as a result... Advice? Anyone? :) Lyds xxxxxxxx
