I was hit on?

Ok...my second and last question, for now! It's not really that big of a deal, but it just got me to thinking. My girlfriend is texting me, usual stuff...how's your day, I love you...etc. She also decided to add, and I'll try to quote, "I was asked out by the cashier at the grocery store. Lol! Awkward!" Ok, now if a woman hits on me (asks me out), I, personally, wouldn't feel the need to tell my girlfriend that a girl asked me out that day. I wouldn't want to make he jealous and it's just pointless b/c my heart's with her! Now, this didn't make me jealous & I know she's in love with me. But...I started to think, why did she feel the need to tell me that? Does she want to make me jealous? Is her self esteem low & did that boost it? I tell her how beautiful she is everyday, so she doesn't have to worry about that! Why did she feel the need to tell/text me that?
