Campaigns and Spending how it effects my marriage

My Husband has and is very passionate about becoming part of our local county politics. He wants me to help him figure out spending when it comes to his campaigns, we currently both work and pretty much live paycheck to paycheck because we are trying to get some past debt paid off so that we can get a bigger home we currently live in a 30ft camper.. He is now wanting to spend money on campaign things like business cards etc... I am totally against that and tell him that if he wants funds for his campaigns then he can take up a second job because i work far to hard and have far to much invested on a better life than to waste it on politics that may or may not happen for him.. am i wrong for this?
