Wet or dry kisses as foreplay?

I love wet passionate tongue kisses but not jamming my tongue down my wife's throat. Nice, slow, passionate and wet. My wife hates that. I asked her why? She finds wet anything for kissing gross so she only dry kisses me. But I do get her to tongue kiss my neck and she knows I love that. Is that odd?
