I'm Asian, so that probably explains a lot. Basically, they've got their hearts set on me going to Cambridge, and I've told them my reasons why I want to go to Bath (my 1st choice) instead but they just REFUSE to accept them. I personally don't care about reputation, and they do.
I also applied to Imperial, even though I don't want to go as they made me. I withdrew my application and told them I got rejected. I'm very tempted to do the same for Cambridge to be honest. If I get an interview, I'm also very tempted to flunk it. Simply put - I really don't want to go to Cambridge. If I had an unconditional offer from Cambridge, I'd still want to go to Bath instead.
They're telling me I'm mental when I say I want to go to Bath instead.
What can I do? I've tried explaining so many times but they won't accept it, and I've spoken to teachers and they all agree that my reasons are good and solid. My parents never went to university at all, which is probably another reason why they're so set on Cambridge.
At this point, I think I'll go through with it and see how far I can get, but I definitely do not want to go Cambridge.
