Can I trust a Mexican pregnancy test?

So my girlfriend is currently in Mexico and has been feeling a little strange as of late. She's gone and taken a pregnancy test and it has come back positive with two lines. Is there a general worldwide standard for pregnancy tests in terms of reliability?
