Singles here

I was really wondering, where to post this question, but ended up here. There are thousand of threads/topics/groups, but could not find any, where single univ. students could meet up, mingle and maybe arrange evening parties, or things like that, in a safe forum/environment. Some of you may quickly send me to dating sites, but if you`ve ever been there, you know that it just does not really work. So: is there anything like that, here? Or does anyone like this idea to start something? Thanks for your answers.
