No luck with the ladies

Here's the deal. I'm 18 and I haven't had a girlfriend yet, but a lot of my mates have much more luck than me. Not sure what I'm wrong but loads of girls say they like me and I'm great but just as a friend. I wouldn't say I was one of the best looking guys around but surely this still shouldn't be happening so much?! :s
