Does he like me??

When I first started 6th form I got very close to a boy and we were almost in a relationship but never quite made it official. We then lost contact and he left 6th form. We've been to the same parties and out with the same friendship groups just as friends. Then he text me after getting back from a lads holiday and we've been texting for a few days. I still like him and would like to make a go of it again, I don't know if he feels the same. I don't know what to do> Help :/
