If a girl/boy was a virgin would that be a relationship deal breaker?

I heard some guys talking today (mind you we're 16) and they were saying they wouldn't date a virgin and if they did they couldn't wait longer than a month to have sex. Is this the general viewpoint amongst all guys, or is it just because the guys in my school (i go to an all girls school but they go to the boys school opposite ours) have that specific viewpoint? I am a a virgin and im just scared to get into relationships now as this is whats expected, and in all honesty i am not prepared to loose my virginity to someone i've been close to for only a month also im scared of what people will think because i still am a virgin. What if im still a virgin at uni, will that be a problem? Guys honest opinions is it essential a girl isn't a virgin, and if she is how long are you willing to wait until she's ready? And girls how long would you wait in a relationship?
