Do I turn up?

I like a guy and I think he is interested in me too. He has said to people in front of me what he is doing on what evenings e.g going to a pub quiz. He keeps doing this as though its like he wants me to know where he is. Should I turn up one night to do a pub quiz or does that seem like I am acting desperate?
