Signature Troubles

Hello, TAM!
I'm very thankful to have found this community, and have been enjoying my time here! I've been learning plenty and meeting great people.

I'm having a slight issue with my signature, however. When I attempt to access the control panel, I don't have an option to create or modify one. I'd love to be able to use this feature!

Am I going about this the wrong way? I'd appreciate any and all help!
Thank you kindly.

Just about one year anniversary of Malyasian air disappearance....

Still amazes me that one year later and nothing not a trace.

I was reading somewhere today that one of the top theories is it had something to do with the one of the pilots. I tend to think that...why would the transponder be turned off, there was no distress call, nothing. Just transponder turned off and plane then turned in the wrong direction.

If someone had taken over the plane I am sure by this point that someone would have claimed responsibility for it. Terrorists groups, etc. like to brag about what acts they have committed.

Spotted on TAM

I just have a warped sense of Humor, I guess. I see things that just give me a chuckle. Lately there have been a lot of people talking about Plutonic relationships. I'm not quite sure what the term means. Either it is an extreme long distance relationship, or it is an affair that is very underground.

This morning I saw this one "I have a boing life...", and I wish I had one too!

confused in my marriage plz help

I'm satisfied most of the time. I'm used to my life and the way things are but I struggle with happiness in my relationship. I have a boing life... That about sums me up. My situation: I feel like my husband uses me for his benefit and that's all I'm good for. He spends his free time with me. Which is usually while he waits on his buddy to play COD. He texts me and says loving things and spoils me with things when he messes up. Then after I forgive him things go back to normal.

He says "get me..." and I get it, he returns the favors when I ask just only in his time. Whereas I get up almost immediately and do it. He thinks his buddy is hilarious. "Everything that comes out of his mouth is funny". Ugh yeah ok...he might make me chuckle a bit every now and again. I joke and it's never funny I'm left hanging. I've got to the point I give him a dissatisfied look turn and walk away. He might reply something I just ignore, too late.

He won't carry long convos with me. Though he steals my topics and phrases and discusses with his friends or family. Even in front of me. I'll be like did u hear blah blah .... He say that's messed up, then get on xbox and tell him all about it and go into opinions or have a laugh about it whatever.

I like to drink sometimes. He gives me dirty looks when I do. Yet he's a drinker. He's a casual drinker at home with me. Goes to the neighbors and gets wasted forgets about his
Family and stays gone for who knows how long. One time I had to go hunt him down the next morning. I like to drink and have a good time but he won't with me. Another time he was going to be gone a minute (mans time). I knew it'd be about an hour. Well 6 hours later I go to the neighbors hollering at him like an idiot. No I was not nice.

Sex is no more. He a porn addict (ask him he don't look at it anymore ?) I want it but when it happens I don't enjoy it. I've been rejected to many times. He says I need to be sexy in my head. Well when I am he doesn't care. I've rubbed on his crotch with my behind to get his attention at the computer desk. Nope rejected. I've waited for him and played and told him he better hurry. Nope rejected. Yet I'm supposed to be sexy and or willing when he is ready.

He can talk about his problems and anxiety for days, however long it lasts. Asks me the same questions about it over and over. I'm supposed to answer them like its the first time he asked. He repeats the question or waits til I answer. Yet my problems, I talk while he goes about his business and rarely gives his advice. And relationship topic area no go. Apparently if we discuss it it is called an argument not a discussion. No matter the tone.

I know I'm far from perfect. Sometimes my mouth just won't stop and at times I'm lazy and a bit negative. But I think I do him right. His only responsibility is to work and take care of vehicles. He's good at going to work. I wait on him. He asks, I do. Has outings with friends and hobbies. I don't nag him to do things (don't ask him though) if I did more things would be fixed around the house.

I've been a housewife for 10 years and I'm scared to death. I have 2 kids. I've been with him half my life. My Only partner. Do I stay? He does love me and I him, he's not all bad but his faults are affecting my life and happiness. Marriages have ups and downs, maybe this is just a down. Do I go? What if it's the wrong choice what if I miss him terribly and he moves on. What if I can't support myself and kids.

I'm scared to get a job. I don't know why. I loved my jobs in the past. I know I need it, for many different reasons. But I can't make that step. Maybe that would help the relationship also.
I just need someone to talk to and advice from people who've been there. Thanks for any help!

would this kind of sex education in college be useful?

They've erected, for lack of a better word, a statue on a campus in Tennessee.

At the very least it is a good way to inform about anatomy!

I have a dream that results in divorce rate of 5% of marriages & competent spouses

It goes like this.

REQUIREMENT 1 Everyone male and female reads books such as "His Needs Her Needs, Love Languages, Sex Starved Marriage, etc and articles such as "Walk Away Wife Syndrome" etc for some background edumacation on what is required to be a competent spouse.

RULE 1 If you cant wrap your head around those concepts and commit to them in writing to your spouse then you cant have a marriage license, you cant have children and you cant buy a house or take on other credit arrangements or intertwine retirement plans or other finances with a member of the opposite gender

REQUIREMENT 2 All will be tested for bat$hit crazinesss, epic stupidity, character flaws, weakness in their value system and attempts at problem solving that result in scratching various parts of your anatomy raw as progress stalls out

RULE 2 If you have been determined to be incurably flawed then see rule 1

If you think your future spouses wants and needs can be blown off almost completely for years on end without shred of concern or care from you and your self-centered laziness and then still wants to rock your world then sorry NO GO

If you think there are no expectations such as continuing most of the behaviors you do before marriage most of the time throughout the marriage then again NO GO FOR U

If you think its fair to quit meeting your spouses wants and needs altogether now that they are completely immersed and intertwined with you emotionally, spiritually and financially simply because you don't feel like it any longer without putting forth the most valiant effort to figure it out and fix it then sorry NO GO

If you cant let $hit go and acknowledge and appreciate after your spouse owns and fixes their $hit or you won't own and fix your $hit then NO GO

Of course with this dream world, some will still fail because even valient efforts are not always enough under he most trying circumstances but this sure would eliminate most of the immature, weak-minded, ignorant, self-centered bull$hit that causes most divorce

Some make take this wrong but before you do, see it thru. If your spouse let you down then blame them with REQUIREMENT 1 OR 2 AND REST ASSURED THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT WITH RULE 1 OR 2

I am only kidding here. No offense intended. Sorry if I offended ANYONE. Humor is the only intent.

Anyone use StubHub??

How reliable is it? I've never used it before, but saw it had pretty decent prices for a variety of things. I've seen commercials for it and thought it was pretty safe, but looking at some reviews for it online it seems like there are a lot of bad experiences... like the tickets not being valid. So I'm very confused. Is it a good site or not?!

How To Be Grateful For Your Ex

Hi everyone,

The forums are filled with such sad stories at times, and so much heartache, it's easy to get engrossed in those feelings. I decided to read some positive material this week and I have to say, it has made an impact (for the better!) on my attitude and outlook, as I go through my separation. I wanted to share an article with you. It's from the following blog:

The Successful Single Mom: How to be Grateful for Your Ex

How To Be Grateful For Your Ex

"Oh, is it easy to hold a grudge! We have all experienced hurt and pain at the end of our relationships, and some are more painful than others and cite more intense emotion. Sometimes the experience is so painful, it feels like it takes forever to heal, especially when our kids have been hurt in the process, too.

However ... no matter how recent your split, holding a grudge hurts you and your kids. It's time to let your anger and frustration go, and begin to see the gift in your situation. Here are your action steps:

1. Acknowledge the problem.
Why are you continuing to hold a grudge? Old wounds or current, continuous behavior? Allow yourself to see the real issue, see it as it is. Then you can then make a choice to move forward from there.

2. Share your feelings.
A grudge can form when an issue isn't fully confronted, and stand in the way of any forward progress. Without being judgmental about yourself or another, clarify your feelings on the situation. Decide if this is something you will work on yourself, with a therapist, and/or by having a conversation with your ex. Whether you work it out on your own or involve your ex, you will feel better by working through it, because processing a situation releases the tension that's built up.

3. Take his perspective.
Put yourself in his shoes. Is it possible you may have done or said something, on purpose or even unknowingly, to hurt his feelings or make him angry or upset? (Of course you have.) Taking his perspective can give you a better understanding of his point of view and behavior. Maybe he's also in pain or frustrated with the situation. Different people handle situations differently. Now, this doesn't justify any bad behavior or negativity, but it can help you understand it. The more you understand the other person and their behavior, the easier it is not to let go of a grudge. A natural response may be to try to get revenge, but the person who holds the grudge always suffers more ... and so do their kids!

4. Accept what is.
"It is what it is." My girlfriend Kristy used to say that all the time. You can choose to create your own healing, with or without any acknowledgement or apology. Don't wait for your ex to come to his senses and apologize -- you may wait for years! He may not know you're upset, or care, or he may have moved past it and not even be thinking about you at all. Alternatively, he may be very sorry, but unable to communicate that with you. Seriously, how easy is it for you to "eat crow?" That's what I thought. And you want a man to do it?

5. Don't dwell on it.
Once you have decided to move on, keep on moving. Don't put too much thought into the situation or continuously discuss it. It will only make things worse and harder to get over. If ever the issue is brought up in conversation, change the subject or just look at it as the past and leave it there.

6. Own the situation.
You chose him. He may be the biggest bastard in the world (or at least a contender) but you know what? You fell in love with him. You engaged in a relationship with him. You had his kid(s). If you take the position that it's all on you, then you own 100% of the responsibility, and the woman that does that is not a victim. She's a victor.

7. Let it go.
You're going to feel so great when you stop feeling bad about the situation. You'll be lighter, and you won't have as much energy on the situation. Imagine his surprise when he realizes you're not mad, you just don't care! Love and hate are twin sisters. The opposite of hate is apathy. Work on letting it go so you don't have any negative energy on the situation at all, and that's when it starts to get good.

8. Forgive.
Forgiveness is an inner act that benefits the forgive-r. The forgive-ee doesn't even have to know about it. Of course forgiving doesn't mean you will forget what's happened. It just means you've let it go, and you open up the space for forgiveness to come back your way, too. Forgiving isn't the easiest to do especially when you've endured a lot of hurt and pain, but it's the only way to truly let go and have peace.

9. Get positive and be grateful.
There are positive aspects even in the most negative of situations. When you make your split a learning experience, you will benefit from knowing more about yourself and your ex -- for the benefit of all of you.

Finally, make a list about all of the things you're grateful for about your ex. Every single day if you have to, and right at the top of your list put the names of your kids. Without your ex, no kids. Period. Then, move on to everything you've learned ... yes, even if it's "now I know what I don't want in a relationship." There are things to be grateful about and for, especially when you look for them.

You can feel grateful for your ex, even if it takes awhile. I promise!"

advanced edit update thread title does not appear to work

I changed my thread title from

"15 year anniversary"

in "long term success in marriage" sub forum to

"15 year anniversary & being a competent spouse concept"

and it doesn't show up in the listings. It only shows up when you open the thread.

That sucks since the edit is very relevant to the contents of the thread and the insightful (helpful) points made within the post

It would be awesome if the mods could change the title for me and look into the technical issue that does not update the advanced edit title changes

Thx

Seeing someone for the time

  • Thread Starter

Met a girl about 2 weeks ago at the bar. Ever since then we have been meeting up for lunch or going for a drink. And she never turns me down when i ask her out, we kiss, hold hands even when we're sitting down for lunch at college. However when we were watching a film the other night. she said she wasn't sure she liked me and that she doesn't know me enough yet.
I said we're taking slowly aren't we ? and she agreed. She said she wasn't the type to jump into a relationship straight as she said shes witnessed a lot of relationships gone sour. My question is what do I now ? Do i bring up the topic of exclusivity? she asked me was i taking this all seriously and I said no. and she me too. Im just not sure where i stand with this girl. Likewise this is the first time i've been properly seeing someone same as her. so we're both new at this. Any help would be great

How To Get Her To Send Me More Nudes?

  • Thread Starter

This girl I've been kind of seeing, shes cute and stuff - usual story.

But she's not sending me enough nudes, its like 1 out of every 10 snapchats. The rest are selfies.

Now I'm thinking is it my fault because I'm not sending her nudes? But Im not that kind of guy that sends pictures like that over snapchat.

Other girls I've been with have been much more compliant, but shes not being and thats the problem.

What do I do to get her to send me more?
