After infidelity, what do wedding rings mean?

What do your original wedding rings mean to you now that you have cheated or were cheated upon? Do you still wear them?

I wore mine for 35 years non stop, until I had it cut off after discovering FWH's infidelity...almost 4 years since Dday and R but neither of us has made a move to wear them again....

Wanting to Reconcile, Help, Please?

I would love to get suggestions about how I can stop or slow the divorce process. How do I show my hurting husband that I am taking actual steps to change my behaviors because I do recognize my problems. It was not an overnight epiphany. I went from bewildered to indignant to what I am right now. And that is empathetic… I understand some of my behaviors were not good and why. And I am taking active steps with tools to change those behaviors.

I have been separated from my husband for nearly two months and he has started divorce process. Please, folks, what can I do to start building his trust quickly because he wants a divorce by April. And he does not live with me. And he travels a lot. He is not even here most of January and all of February.

He is also a workaholic and once he gets into work, he will replace me with work. That is certain. He is suffering right now and seems to be wavering. One minute weak and asking to chat and the next he is upbeat and telling me that he knows divorce is the right choice for him. No contact might work with some guys but we are talking a middle-aged workaholic with about 80% traveling in the next four months.

Any help, folks? I love this guy deeply for everything he is – his good and bad. And I take my vows very seriously. I failed in the "honor, cherish and respect". I regret trying to force him to change and want one chance to make this marriage from failing to great.

Need advice please

  • Thread Starter

Long story short, I've been going out with my girlfriend for around 10 months. For a few months, things haven't been the same. I just don't have the same feelings for her as I used to; I've kind of been speaking to this other girl who I kind of wanted to go out more with than my current gf.

The problem is that she is so lovely to me and she really does care about me. She honestly treats me like a king, but I just don't really want to go out with her anymore.
But everytime i speak to her about something to do with our relationship, she starts crying and doubting things. She adamantly wants us to continue going out, not trying to brag but i think she really does love me. I just can't reciprocate the feelings.
I probably should've ended things a long time ago but I honestly feel so bad about doing it.

I just need advice on what to do. Ahh such a difficult position I'm in

What did you get for Christmas?

I guess I can post what the wife and kids got me. My daughters got me some nice shirts and donated to toys for tots in my name.

My lovely wife must have been good at snooping as she got me things I've been looking at getting for quite a while now. What is it you might ask???
A pair of 10" infinity reference subwoofers and a set of infinity reference door speakers for my truck. Also a Kenwood 500 watt mono amp for the subs and a 200watt 4 channel Alpine amp for the door speakers.

Now she'll really know when I'm coming up the street:)

Is this some sort of bullying/power struggle?

My husband and I have been married for eight years. He was an active duty green beret for seven of those years. He is now in the reserves, as I have finished my degree and he is now finishing his. I am responsible for the bills, and he maintains a part-time job to pay for his expenses only (eating out everyday, guns, and other things he would like to buy that our budget might not allow for). He contributes the rent each month, which is a huge help - his schooling pays for it. When there is a winter or summer break, though, the responsibility falls solely on me, and I have realized that I don't make enough to cover all of this bills on just my income. I asked if he could help out during the summer; he said no - it is my responsibility and that I am basically on my own. I suggested trimming down some of the bills - such as cable - but was met with replies such as, "No, I need all of my channels." I understand why he would want to hang on to all of h is income from his part-time job, but I also feel that he enjoys watching me struggle financially on my own. Help?

Well xmas was hard...

It's the day after Xmas and all I have had with my kids is a 5 minute phone call yesterday. Not much of a call as they were excited about the presents they had received.
I do have all three of my children from the 28-30th dec for our xmas, I can't wait!
But yesterday was awful, felt totally alone, this was my first xmas without them and I hated every second.
For you who have read my previous posts, will know that I have struggled these last 9 months, on the whole I am much better, still have weak days, but christmas without my family has to be the worst.
Really looking forward to the next few days with my children, but then it will be back to one day a week..
It is so hard cramming in a weeks worth of being a dad into 24 hrs.

How do separated dads do this?

I have a 5/4/1 yr old and my eldest is demanding and naughty, he has not dealt with separation at all, and has started disliking his mummy, I hate this, what ever has happened with my and my wife I want them to have a great relationship with their mummy. He is very resentful of her and always asks me to move home! Very hard.

For Xmas he wanted me to live with mummy again. I have tried so hard for reconciliation, even after my wife's 3 month relationship she had after our separation. Because I can't switch off my feelings and want my family back under one roof. It is having a negative effect on kids.

So my questions are- 1)how do you possibly do a weeks worth of parenting in a day, 2) has anyone else had issues with kids turning on ex? And how do you over come this?

Hope you all had a great Christmas time

Photos, etc.

When do take down wedding pics etc & what do you do with them? My H moved out the first of this month and there are pictures of us looking happy on vacations & wedding in every damn room of the house. 14 years of memories up in smoke. Every where I look, reminders. It's only been a month, but there is zero chance of R, so why should I waste time getting rid of that crap? Any advice from those of you who have been there?

Any tall girls attracted to short guys?

  • Thread Starter

Like say a few inches shorter than you?

I don't know why but I just find taller girls so much more attractive and desirable but for obvious reasons I struggle to get with those kind of girls.

Girls like Maria Sharapova make me go giddy. Those long long legs, long blonde hair, straight white teeth, athletic body.....it's my dream to date a goddess like that.

Inevitably I think I will go for surgery to increase my height.

Why is my ex harassing me? And how can I make it stop?

  • Thread Starter

Hey,
A few weeks ago I broke things off with my ex as I found out he was using a dating site behind my back. A few days later I messaged him to talk it through and he ignored me. I messaged him again to ask if he could let me know what terms we're on so I can get on the same page as him. He didn't reply.

Around a week after we split, someone messaged me online. We got taking and he added me on Facebook. I saw he was mutual friends with my ex. I asked this new guy about him and he told me all the rumours that go around about my ex. They were pretty disgusting. He also asked me not to tell my ex that we had been speaking because they don't get along. He seemed very genuine.

The day after, I decided to block my ex on Facebook to help me get over him. That evening I got a message from my ex saying "have you blocked me from Facebook? Hahahaha" I didn't reply.

A few days went by and my ex messaged me again saying "you're speaking to ********? Hahahahahaha!!!" Of course, he meant this new guy that he knows. Again, I didn't reply.

45 minutes later I get yet another text from my ex saying " I heard you were speaking to ******** whilst you were with me, not so loyal after all ha! Never mind, plenty more fish in the sea!" I didn't reply.

That last message is a false accusation, as I never actually spoke to this new guy until 5 days after me and my ex ended. I had tried to message my ex earlier to be civil about things and he just ignored me. I feel he made this last message up and he knows it'll push my buttons. I am a very honest and genuine, loyal person and I'm sure he knows that.

Does anyone have any advice and should I continue to ignore this petty drama? I feel the urge to defend myself but I feel an argument is just what he wants. Thanks for reading.

Dilemma - Confused about my feelings

  • Thread Starter

Hi Everyone new here!

Right so i have been feeling like this for a very long time. I have been in long term relationships with girls and i loved it etc all the usual stuff.

However i keep having urges, urges to try new things. I'm still interested in girls however there is this one boy i've not known him very long he's gay and open about it. I think we have feelings for each other, for example just yesterday we met up on our own hugs kisses hand holding etc. I'm really confused :( We really hit it off and have been speaking ever since we have quite allot in common. I'm unsure as to how i go about this, and i think i need a second opinion! I then think about what will my family think? Children? Haters! :( It's really getting me down arguing with the people who i'm closest too etc

Anyone got any advice? If you are going to be a douche bag then please don't comment. This is a very touchy subject for me!
Thanks

Do guys like girls with baby faces?

  • Thread Starter

I'm 17 and look younger than all the girls my age. Someone thought that facially I look 12. My family always say I have a baby face. Also, my parents said that guys may not approach me as I look young and have the face of a child.

Do guys care if a girl has a young face/child like features- which is largish eyes, full lips, roundish nose (not pointy), small chin and a general innocent look which people always say I have.

Even my teacher said when looking at year 7 pictures that my face looks the same!!!

Anyway, even though my face is young, my body is developed but not ulta-feminine/curvy. I've got 32b boobs (not flat but I have boobs definitely), my bum is not big but not flat. Also I clearly have hips but they are not wide. I'm also 5ft8 so its just my face that is childish. I'm also 55.5kg so yeah I'm slim.

I can see the positives as my mum is 46 and looks about 20 and does not even have a baby face so hopefully I will age the same.

Anyway? I'm wondering if guys like this as most guys like the mature girls that wear loads of makeup. I feel like if a guy is with me I will look to young and make him look like a pedo. Any girls with this problem?

Ps. I dont' wear alot of makeup as I just look silly (like a 10 year old in mums makeup), I just wear eyeshadow, lipgloss, mascara and make sure my brows look good.

Somewhat of a Unique Situation... Attraction to My Wife

This may be somewhat of a unique situation to some readers. I'll start off by saying I love my wife dearly, and have been married to her for close to ten years. After our second child who is now close to a year old, we now have sex maybe once a month (initially due to understandable lack of desire on her part...which has persisted). I would love to be more intimate with her, but (this is somewhat embarassing to admit) she has also been losing weight to the point that I am now feeling less attracted to her along with the decreased intimacy which was already present. She is aware about my concerns about her weight loss, though I have never mentioned anything about my loss of attraction, though she is aware of my preference. She has mentioned that she finds me attractive though I wish it showed more in action, although the words are nice. I dont look at other women, treat my wife dearly, and am a supportive father and husband.

She has never been a heavy woman herself and her personality and friendship is what attracted me to her. I found her most attractive in all the time weve been together after our second child after she had put on some baby weight, the irony being she was not comfortable with her body image and lost it all and more. I am supportive of her. I feel that some women would love to be in a situation where their husband is attracted to them for their real bodies and not for any unrealistic standards seen in magazines and the like.

As we have been less intimate, along with me losing desire for her, I find myself being attracted to other women who are on the heavier side (not to any extremes, have always found plus size women attractive). I would never stray, but feel conflicted as our intimacy has dwindled and I am concerned she would be hurt if I mentioned anything about my attraction to her. Any ideas on how to best approach this?
