Dont know what to do with myself

  • Thread Starter

Basically:

Im an introverted guy that doesnt have alot of friends.

I met a girl over the internet in January, we started talking, got to really like each other and now have well over 100k messages to each other on facebook and have had a good few hundreds of hours of calls.

Met her a few times and have really fell for her. We live about 2 hours apart.

But

Shes going to uni in a few days.

We are going to stop talking once she goes (I suggested, I dont think its fair on her - I think she should get to live the studenty life without anyone holding her back/demanding her time)

I dont know what to do with myself. I have hardly any friends and dont do anything in my spare time besides study. She was (as sad as it sounds) the only thing I had to make me feel happy. I suppose Ill feel a bit better knowing she is happy where she is, but I cant help but get depressed over what Ill be without her.

I know Ill feel incredibly lonely without her, I dont have any real friends at school :(

Also, does anyone have ideas on something nice I can do for her before she goes (I cant see her in person again)? She really means alot to me and Id like to show her that somehow

"The most attractive thing is to be able to make a girl laugh"

  • Thread Starter

I've heard this sentiment expressed quite a lot, most often from girls themselves. Sometimes I've even heard it said that this can cover up other shortcomings, like being ugly. However, I haven't experienced much to support this. I'm a typical early 20s male with negligible relationship experience (as you'll have guessed); however, I can often make girls laugh very easily. This has rarely led any girl to want to start or continue a conversation with me and it's never led to me being approached.

I'm aware that a sense of humour is not the only thing that matters. Furthermore, I'm a short, ugly man (I'm in good shape though), which will put people off. It's just the way that being funny is apparantly so attractive would have made me think that this would have led to some romantic success on my part.

Thoughts?

Advice for communicating with a hypocritical ex

First time posting. I'll try to keep this as brief as possible and convey my dilemma.

I left my wife 9 years ago and we divorced shortly thereafter. I have a daughter-14 and a son-11. My relationship with my ex-wife has varied over the years from almost civil to highly contentious with most of our history being at least somewhat contentious.

I'm not claiming to be perfect. I most certainly am not. However, discussions with her seem impossible. I called her a hypocrite in the title and I truly believe that description fits but I'd really appreciate replies especially if you think I'm missing something.

First, a few recent examples of the hypocrisy.

1) She tells my children I am a bad father and a bad person that is not going to heaven. I have never uttered anything harmful like that about her ever. Yet, she tells the children and me that I am jerk and I am awful to her.

2) She has not worked in 7 years instead moving her and my children in with her boyfriend for 4 years until recently breaking up. I lost my job last year and was out of work for 6 months. I used some of that time to travel when I didn't have the kids. She told my daughter, " doesn't this guy ever work?"

3) She has lived in 5 homes since 2007 and moved the kids school 4 times. This last time she was going to move close to me. We toured the school with the children and we agreed on a school. 3 months later she moved to a house even farther away and enrolled the children in school by her without consulting me and making the children promise not to tell me anything. My son told me anyway and I confronted her. I told her I was taking her to court to stop this. She told my kids, "See what I have to live with."

4) 2 nights ago she asked me what time I was getting back from out of town with kids for the 3 day weekend. I told her she could come get the kids at 7 pm. She got angry that that would waste her whole day and that it would have to be earlier. But its my weekend and my holiday with the kids. She blasted me to my daughter about what a jerk I am but all I said was that it was my day.

I am taking her to court and I think I have a real case but I still don't know how to get past the hypocrisy and denigrating comments she makes to my children. There are many many more examples of her hypocrisy. Some of them are far more extreme than what I've written here. My problem is that I don't know how to deal with this. I've tried to limit my communication with her and that helps some but as soon as she doesn't get her way, she blasts me to the kids.

Any suggestions?

She rejected me, she has a boyfriend, but we are still really close..help?

  • Thread Starter

About 3 months ago I confessed to a close friend of mine that I had feelings for her. She said you know I have a boyfriend, I love him very much. Etc. That I shouldn't be selfish.

I said I'm sorry.

She said I think we can't be friends. And that I should delete her from Facebook. After a few times of me apologizing, she said that she is thinking of me, and that she doesn't want to see me sad. But I insisted that I would be ok. She then agreed and said if she did make me feel sad, then I should tell her.

I didn't want to lose her as a close friend because I really liked her as a close friend as well so I tried to be optimistic and thought well 'well I'm not going to let this stop us from being good friends!'

A week later things went back to normal and we talked as if nothing happened that day.

I tried to move on and keep myself busy with other things. I won't lie that I've moved on from her; deep down I still love her.

Just a little bit of background info about her boyfriend. He lives in another country. They have been talking for 4 years. It's a long distance relationship. She told her mum about him in September but her mum didn't like him and she told her to stop talking to him. She did stop talking to the guy, but then started talking again as she realised she really loves him. Obviously her family doesn't know she is still talking to him now.

Also her plan is to tell her family about him again in 2 years (when she finishes university). She believes she can convince them.

She has met the guy only once, which was in September. The first time she met him, she was in her country, at a concert, and he came over and have her a piece of paper with his number on it. And last year, she went to Turkey and met her bf once, they talked and she said that they kissed too (nothing more). They talk via skype mostly.

So, now that you have the background story, should I even be open to the idea we would ever date? It sounds selfish, I know, to still think about that even when she has a boyfriend, but I can't stop. I really don't want to ignore her because, like I said, I really enjoy her company as a friend too. I find it somewhat wrong just to talk to a girl just to date, and then throw away her friendship she offers after you confess to her. I try to accept the fact she rejected me and really doesn't like me that way, but sometimes I feel like maybe things might change.

What do you guys think? Thanks for reading this long post.

Does this girl like me?

  • Thread Starter

So I'm about to make the move to the UK from the US in a few days for my masters. This girl I've known for 3 years recently contacted me on facebook to catch up and to ask me about the program I am joining because she is interested in applying for it herself...and then she ended up asking me to meet her for coffee to "catch up".

So we had coffee for about an hour and reminisced on our days of traveling in europe/talked about school etc. I wasn't really flirtacious but to be honest I don't even know how to be flirtacious. I'm a bit socially awkward.

Then she told me she was hungry and was craving waffle house so we went there and ate breakfast and talked some more.

After we hugged and said goodbye...she told me that she wants to keep in touch while I'm gone and she wants me to send her tons of pictures.

Then she sent me a text after "thanks for meeting up :), so nice to catch up."

Once again all of this was her idea. I really have no idea when women are interested in me because to my knowledge none ever have been. Any help?

talking to this girl online, but not sure if she's interested or not. help?

  • Thread Starter

Hi guys, basically met this girl on the dating app badoo. Anyway, she "liked" me and i messaged her. We got talking and everything seems okay, but i asked for her number after we chatted for a few sporadic hours, but she said she wanted to talk on there a little longer. Last night i asked if she fancied going for a drink sometime and to think about it. She said "maybe" and that was it.

She is 19 and I'm 26, so not sure if she's just shy or not interested. It is hard to know, but we had a good chat about her interests, and it seemed positive; she was replying immediately etc.

I have no idea how to go about this. At times it feels like a drag to keep talking to her without knowing if she wants to go for a drink or whatever. Could she be younger than 19, and that's the reason she's reluctant to go for a drink? She looks young, but no less than 18, maybe 17, but she claims to be 19.

I have no idea. Any thoughts?

I am worried about my love life? help please

  • Thread Starter

Okay I'm gonna admit this. I am a 19 year old girl who has never had any boyfriend nor close contact with a guy. (not even hugging as it is not a culture here)

When I was 12 to 14, I was really overweight (not obese!) and somehow someone figured out who I liked and things kinda spread. People started teasing me and I was also kinda emotionally bullied a little bit by a guy that thought I had a crush on him. I got teased and laughed at quite a lot on my weight and body. I was called names like hippo, cow and got teased about my "ability" of knocking down a building / getting crack lines on the floor when I walk. I was afraid of gym class and shopping in general. It was then I think that I grew fear towards men/boys and started to have low self esteem.

I would say I look quite different now compared to the old me. I have lost quite a lot of weight and still working towards my target (bmi 20). My current bmi is 25. My friends sometimes tell me I am pretty but I just can't believe them, it's like I try to believe their words but this little voice in my head kept on telling me that I am still a fat girl.

Anyway, I never had a lot of guy friends despite being in a co ed school. I NEVER had a close guy friend. I just can't open up to them. I am too scared to let them cross over the territory that I have built over the years and I don't know how to communicate with them. I just..CAN'T ACT NORMALLY AROUND THEM.

So right now at 19 where a lot of my friends start having boyfriends and sweet things done together, I am still the middle school girl who has secret crushes on guys and could never do anything. I am terrified, jealous and angry at the same time. I cry easily when I watch teen movies because they made me feel like such a loser.

Any advice? (serious comments only please)
tbh, my eyes are wet now.

My boyfriend told me he used to be gay

  • Thread Starter

So I've been with my boyfriend for years now, I always had suspicions because weird things like emails and apps set off alarm bells in my head. When I confronted him on whether he had tried the whole gay thing he was adamant that it was a no no. So I had to just tell myself I was being stupid and get on with it. One day I found a email from a gay dating site, and in found his account saying he was Bi and looking for group sex. When I asked him he said it wasn't him and he didn't know what it was. But after I told him to cut the **** he admitted it. He said he'd had a bad experience with girls and thought it was a possibility for him. I wanted all the details and he said he never pursued anything and he liked girls. But after being lied to, I don't know what to believe or what to do? Will he think he likes guys again and leave me? Is he gay? I need advice, I just don't want to get hurt!

Why do people masterbate on webcam?

  • Thread Starter

I don't understand why people masturbate on webcam, what's the point? What do they gain?

Do you believe cyber sex is sex? I mean you're not touching anyone or anything, you're only touching yourself if you do that to it.
