I think I might be the worst friend ever....

  • Thread Starter

Hi,

I just wanted some advice really, I have a friend who is going through a few issues and has been for some time, around 3 years I'd say.

Her issues are that she has 2 children with a man who is a heroin addict, this obviously upsets her and distresses her as he treats her terribly, there's no violence as she would definitely tell me as we're close, but she often finds him using in the house or he spends all their money on drugs. I am normally the person she turns to when she's feeling upset which I do not mind a lot of the time.

She phoned me today, I was explaining to her that my Dad is ill at the minute and I am really worried about him. She then started crying and talking about herself and her relationship issues, basically she sweeped my issues aside just so she could talk about herself. This really ****** me off and I ended up shouting at her and saying some really horrible things to her. The conversation ended with me saying that having one kid with him is bad enough but having a second and then moaning about it for years is her own fault and she deserves to be treated like a ****.

What I said was out of anger and I meant it but I was angry and the way it came across was obviously horrible.

It's just sometimes it gets a bit much when every single time you speak to someone they're still unhappy and they still moan about it but do absolutely NOTHING to help themselves.

I feel horrible about it and I don't really know if I should try and save the friendship or not...... I feel like her therapist, it's like she doesn't understand that I have problems to.

jealous friend taking it out on me

  • Thread Starter

hey all, I have lost over 5 stone since last year and I am now a size 8-10 and very very happy! i never used to have any confidence at all but have come out of my shell a lot, but I am still a quiet person!

anyway, my best friend is very big and she also wants to lose weight. she is probably about a size 26 or something, she has always been bigger than I was and it was something we would talk about a lot. however, she has zero motivation and despite being on a diet since January, she hasn't lost any weight (because she doesn't actually diet lol). I have offered her advice and said I would help her, but she gets so funny with me and often goes in a mood. especially when I mention clothes that I have bought or something. I don't do it in a show off way, but obviously I am proud of what I have achieved and a lot of people have told me I have the right to be.

our other friends have noticed how she is with me and have said it's jealousy that I've managed to lose weight and she hasn't, but why does this mean she can go in moods with me?! I haven't done anything wrong!

it is really annoying me. advice?

Girlfriends sexual history

  • Thread Starter

In school so everyone knows everyone. Bearing that in mind would you ever ask your gf what she's done before with her ex, as I know of him. I mean I know they had sex and she sucked him off whilst they were going out and that absolutely pains me, is that normal?

Is it better to stay with someone because you're unsure or to break up?

  • Thread Starter

Having a major soul search at the moment as my boyfriend and I have been together for almost two years, but for the last few months it just hasn't seemed right.
But how I feel massively changes all the time, sometimes I'm sure I've got to end it and sometimes I feel like we can work through this.
I don't know how he feels to be honest because everytime we talk about serious issues I can feel him panicking and I'm not sure because he's worried he'll lose me or he just likes being in a relationship.

So I pose a question: Is it better to break up with someone and save everybody's time even though you know you might regret it or stay together and keep having some weeks where you fight constantly and some where you don't know how you survived without each other?

Shy relationship, in need of advice!

  • Thread Starter

Right so basically I've been with this boy for just over three months now, we're both 16 and we're both really shy and awkward people, especially when it comes to relationships.

We get on really well but in the time we've been together we've hugged twice and that's it. And even then they were awkward hugs. I want to move things on (just slightly) further, especially as friends are telling me we're pathetic for not having kissed yet, but I have no idea how to initiate it. I guess I'm scared as to how he would react.

So yeah, any advice for hopelessly awkward people would be much appreciated.

3 month dating point

  • Thread Starter

Hi all,

I have realised recently I have been seeing the same guy for 3 months now. I am starting to get paranoid and anxious as my feelings are getting stronger and there is no commitment. He says he cares about me a lot (is that a stronger feeling that liking someone) I have met his friends, and he has been to mine and met my family. He has said before it would annoy him if I saw another guy which are all good signs..
but I haven't met his family yet even though I know in the past he has introduced girls to his mum quite soon. He also has mentioned a couple of times he isn't seeing anyone else and wants to give it a bit more time and he might ask me to be his gf.
Should I be worried? I am tempted to go on dates with other people to stop myself getting attached. Even though I would feel really guilty.

Shes hiding a text from me

  • Thread Starter

My gf came over, just as she was leaving, she checked her phone and she got a text message. She started acting really nervous and tried kissing me and trying to take my mind of it. Im not stupid, i asked her to show it to me 5 times, she wouldnt, she finally showed who the message was from and it was from a this old lady she knows very well. It came up as Tracy (and there was something else, but i couldnt read it) i told her to open the message she said "thats for me know what she text me"

Now as im not stupid, i think this is what happened

- That old lady who "text her" is roughly 70, i doubt she would text a 19 year old girl
- Why is the name saved under tracy and something else beside it? why not just tracy
- She wouldnt open the message, because, i think, its a bloke and she obviously saved his contact name under Tracy so i would think its actually Tracy.

I cannot accuse her without any proof, what do you guys think?

Looking for a friend

  • Thread Starter

Hi! a woman, 26, on the lookout for a friend and possibly someone who could help me with english. Can't get used to native speakers :) But let me say that friendship and a good conversation are more important to me. My hobbies are rather intelectual because I am shy and introverted :)) So here they are: literature, traveling, history, comedy and belief. Thanks for reading and sorry if this is somewhat awkward :) Have a nice day.

I used divorce as a threat

I am not proud of what I did, I am not even sure that it was worth it. But I drew up divorce paperwork and e-mailed to my spouse in order to communicate my feelings of how miserable and hurt I am. I will start to say, I love my spouse. But he just pushed me to my breaking point. Recently we had a wedding after we have already been married for a year. The day before the wedding, he became upset/annoyed/irritated with his family and decided to send a text and cancel the rehearsal dinner. I understood his annoyance, but I asked him to put it aside and come and eat with my family. He stated that he did not feel like being around anyone so he would not attend. Needless to say, I still had dinner with my family. My parents were mortified that this had happened and I was really sad. I did my best to put on a smile, but it was hard. Fast forward to the wedding. My spouse is not a big dancer and was even having a little concern about our first dance- so we rehears ed. First dance was fine. However, toward the end of the evening, one of my bridesmaid said you guys have not even danced all night in a joking manner and I replied yeah baby lets dance! He looked at me and snapped and said, I don't want to dance and you will be alright and stormed out. Again my bridesmaid looked at me and said I know that hurt girl. While it did hurt, I again put on a smile. I find my self often times smiling through the hurt and trying to move past the hurtful moments. But I just got tired. I have tried to talk to my spouse in the past about this and he said that I was just weak like a helpless bird and could not take criticism. He says things like this, "If I knew that your cleaning habits were like that I would have never dated you." He is rude and a nasty person and I have said that to him before. He has this thing with hanging up the phone when he is frustrated and then not answering my calls. That really pisses me off. As I reflect, what set me off to file divorce paperwork may appear to be a silly argument, but it was just enough. You see, I spent two hours trying to do something for my spouse and yes I was frustrated because It took longer than what I expected it to. My spouse sensed my frustration and thought I had an attitude with him. His response was to say never mind, I will do it myself and hang up the phone and not answer my calls. Understanding his stubborn personality, I have committed myself to being the bigger person, by trying to do the mature thing and trying to let things go and I just could not do it anymore. Why do I always have to be the one to apologize and let things go when he never does. For now we live apart because of my job, and as a result he is saying that because he has been burnt in a past relationship, he does not feel our situation is stable enough for him to sacrifice his career to move her to be with me. What have I done? I just need him to hear me.

I hate my husband so much i can't believe it!

I filed for divorce few weeks ago when i discovered husband was cheating on me with girls at massage parlors that are essentially brothels. I moved to my parents house, where i am currently living as i can't see him anymore. He is such a manipulator and a jerk. Looking back i see there were some red flags, like when i initiated sex he often used to say "i am not in the mood" of course he wasn't in the mood when he already got his release!!!

I posted on this website before about my situation and now it's all coming back to me. Last week he comes to me saying to me everything he did with those girls. Like what is this for?
he was soo remorseful, sorry etc wants to make things good again but to me it means nothing. I can't think of anything else except thinking how he used those girls for his own pleasure, using them to bath him, touch him, and have sex with him.

I am so disgusted. I even cheated on him as revenge and this is where he stopped apologizing and stopped communicating with me.

We have a son together and i hate him so much. Imagining he has been going to those places while i was cooking dinner at home, talking to me on the phone while telling a girl to pleasure him, oh god i feel like i will die.

I really hope he will die a painful death. I promised him that i won't come to his funeral. I want to make his life a hell.

I regret not slapping him when he suggested counseling. I bet if i would be working at that place, and doing what those girls were doing to him to other guys he would end things with me in a second.

Girls only: Does nice face make up for fat body?

  • Thread Starter

In terms of being physically attractive I'll try and post some pics on here to show you what I mean and please be honest about my looks and what you think. I weight 14.5 stone if my pic isn't clear. I also smoke 20 a day so I am worried about my health in general. I play football a couple of times a week but not losing any weight. I was on medication that made me put on weight and I lost loads at the gym before but then I stopped going and put on more weight than I was originally on and I lost motivation to go again. Out of 10 ratings would suffice. Please no slagging off

Not sure if my girlfriend has done more than what she told me

  • Thread Starter

I just entered a new relationship about two weeks ago, with a girl from my uni. She is bubbly, outgoing and likes to go out a lot- though she is real shy around me. I am the opposite very shy, quiet, modest and not pushy at all.

We have known each other from last year at university, but only recently started seeing each other, and finally two weeks ago we started actually going out.
Now...I know that she is very outgoing, and people had told me that she likes the 'casual' scene of having sex, and has done the whole 'one-night-stand' thing. Which is fine, each to their own. It's her preference, or at least was.

Now...the issue is, I keep hearing all these names, from her about her previous conquests, some of which I've never heard of. Or that she told me before when I asked her. Also, she confessed to me that her friend came onto her and kissed her because her friend was trying to get back at a guy. She told me that she felt guilty and it was her reason for wanting to ring me last night, as she got emotional and felt bad. She told me she pushed off her friend and told her she was now taken. She is bi by the way, so this is why it perhaps bothers me a little bit more.

I don't know what to think or do. All I can do is forgive, if indeed it was genuine mistake. I'm not the jealous type, I used to be with prior relationships but I stopped it because I learned it wasn't good. But in this situation perhaps I should be.

She recently also told me that when we first started seeing each other someone else came onto her, so she had to push them off too. Should I believe all of this, or am I being taken for a ride?

He lies about stupid things

  • Thread Starter

Me and my boyfriend have been together a year but were seeing each other for a while before that. Before we were together he was also seeing other girls, which I was okay with as we weren't exclusive, but he always implied to me that I was the only one he was seeing. Early on in our relationship he met an ex girlfriend briefly, again this would have him okay with me if he'd been honest but he didn't tell me beforehand and then said he didn't know she was in town, it was a last minute thing which I know isn't true. Recently he's lied about his phone being off but I've still got delivery reports, and today he told me that he didn't have his phone on him all day, yet had opened my snapchats!

When I try to discuss it with him, he refuses to talk about it. I don't think that he is cheating, but this behaviour just seems really strange to me. So many problems and arguments could be avoided if he just told me the truth. What do you think?
