How would you handle this

So to make a long story as short as possible. My wife had a PA/EA with a guy from another country. I found out about 2 years ago. She tried to be a cake eater but eventually came around as I did the 180 and got her family involved. Any way since it was mostly an EA because of the distance, pics were sent between the 2.

Anyway to get to the point. We are trying to reconcile but the OM seems to relish in posting the pics of the two of them on his social media accounts. Now I've tried to ignore them and not go to the site to see, but it's one of the few ways I was able to glean if contact was still going on. There were a couple of times early on I was able to tell she was posting under a fake account. Anyway the question is how would you deal with this? Seems like a no win. It pisses me off yet I'm compelled to keep returning. I can't really blame her anymore since she really has no control over whether or not he deletes them or puts them back up. She certainly has been chided many times over the fact she sent him pictures. Any advice on how to deal?

Dealing with the silent treatment

Has anyone been on the receiving end of the silent treatment from their spouse? My husband and I are currently separated and living in separate places. We have discussed reconciling here and there, however, no real effort has been made on his part. I want to reconcile very much.

My husband's favorite form of "abuse" in our marriage was the silent treatment. A way to make me feel unimportant and completely absent from his thoughts. I always knew it was a controlling tactic and I would try my best to remember that it was not my fault. It was a very immature way for him to deal with any "issue" in our marriage.

We remain in contact through text messages and have seen each other on occasion for lunch or dinner throughout our 3/4 months not living together.

I had plans this past weekend to go out with a bunch of friends from Friday through Monday out of town, which he knew about. I guess I really wasn't surprised that despite my attempts to be in contact with him over the weekend, to say "Hello" via text etc., that he completely went silent from Thursday evening to Monday night. Then claimed he was "studying" all weekend, hence why he never responded to me. Deep down, I know that this was his form of punishment as I was going out and having a great time and not sitting at home, crying over him.

Although I am smart enough to realize this game, it still hurts so much that he chooses to do this to me especially when communication is SO important. I would really appreciate any input or advice from members on TAM which have a spouse who chooses the silent treatment :( I would love some words of support and encouragement.

Money: His & Hers?

In your marriage, do you each have your own money, or is it all "Ours".

Either way, how do you work out differences when it comes to dealing with money?

I want to break the cycle.

I don't want to be LD anymore. In the beginning of our marriage we were both HD and he was the more experienced partner. Vanilla sex was good with me but he wanted more. As we started experimenting and enjoying ourselves I felt embarrassed, humiliated and ashamed because I enjoyed these acts. He might bring up our activities the next day reminding me or teasing me about it and it made me feel bad about myself and like he's rubbing it in my face. I know that's my hang up and not his; I guess you could say I am a prude when it comes to sex. I did let him know how it made me feel but it still continued. I felt like he was intentionally trying to embarrass and humiliate me which made me angry and I started to 'punish' him by rejecting him and withdrawing. I tried to make myself less desirable to him as well, but I didn't realize it until recently. I rarely wore makeup, put my hair in a pony tail and gained weight. We were still having sex 1-2 times a week and I was doing it out of duty rather than desire. Sex became a chore and I could have cared less if I ever had sex again. He retaliated by not taking the time to fulfill my needs, so in turn his needs weren't important to me. As life continued and our family grew he was the low man on the totem pole. This went on for way too many years and I'm sad that I did this to my husband and to our relationship but I didn't know how to change it.

About a year and a half ago I stumbled across an article that said you should put your husband's needs first instead of your kids, the kids will be ok. The article continued to say when you take care of his needs he will take care of yours. I started putting him first. I couldn't believe the changes in him. He became much more affectionate and attentive towards me and my sex drive was getting better and I started losing weight. Here is where my problem is, he still doesn't really listen to me about sex. He still likes to tease me about my enjoyment which he knows bothers me. I am seeing my old feelings creep up like anger, resentment and wanting to withholding sex. That was a vicious, unhealthy cycle and I don't want to get on that merry go round again. I'm certain the many years of me rejecting him play a part of him not listening to me. He hears what I'm saying but it isn't registering. I withheld affection from him for so long that when we are intimate I think he's afraid I'll take it away, like taking candy from a baby. I think he is hearing it as an excuse not to have sex, like I have a 'headache'? I don't think his doing it on purpose but all the years of crappy sex has made him numb?

Don't know how to get a date

I've only really been trying for like 5 months or so, and admittedly it hasn't had my full attention, but after years of not being interested in dating (probably turned away upwards of ten girls in the last 2 years) i'm finally interested in jumping on the bandwagon.

It has struck me however that i don't really know what i'm doing. I've hung around in bars and managed to make out with a few girls but i don't think they were looking for anything more than that since they weren't interested in giving out their number. I've also flirted with cashiers and had interest from a few but didn't ask for their number because it was always in front of a lot of other people waiting in the queue and i felt rushed.

Tried online dating but was never very interested so hardly sent anything out, and the times I did they were just messing me around with up to a weeks worth of messaging without wanting to go on a date until they "knew me better".

Where am I going wrong?

Edited to say i'm 21.

Please help restore my faith in humanity.

This dudebro is seriously considering dumping his girlfriend because she has, apparently, been "spoiled" by having sex once before.

He's also considering explaining this to her and then going off and sleeping with a random virgin girl just so satisfy his "psychological desire" to lose virginities together.

How to make my partner less messy?

Okay, so he stalks me a little on here sometimes so anon.. and if he recognises our situation from this then that is progress to be honest!

We've been together for several years now, longer than any other couple of our age that I know. I love him, he loves me, we spend a lot of time together, have great fun, and want similar things from life.

At the moment, we're trying to get the money together so that we can buy a flat and move in together. I spend around 50% of my time at his flat at the moment, and in the other 50% of the time he will come to visit me at my home. It makes sense from a financial point of view that we should buy together, because we spend so much time with each other anyway and know that we get on..

..Except for the fact that he's a complete and utter messy slob, and his flat is a state. I understand that everyone has different levels of cleanliness that they prefer, but I will list some of the problems that I have..

- Dishes that are used won't get washed up until there is literally nothing else to use. Then, they will be rinsed out as needed, and the rest will remain in the sink - if we're lucky. More often than not they will just stay on the floor or on the table that they were used at.
- If something is dropped on the floor, like crumbs, a crisp, a wrapper, a leaflet from out of a newspaper.. it stays there. For months. Not even sure he knows how to use his hoover.
- There are dirty clothes all over the bedroom. I am very, very lucky that there are two bathrooms in his flat, and he has the en-suite to the master bedroom and keeps the door firmly shut - I dread to think of the state of that. The bathroom I use is kept clean and tidy, by me.
- When he's making food, like a sandwich or something, he will just put it on the side, not on a plate or anything. This makes no sense, because he will then TRANSFER it to a plate when it's prepared, leaving the crumbs all over the side which, again, never get cleaned up.
- He won't change his bed and, yesterday, I actually caught him lying on the bed with his trainers on, which are just filthy.
- The trash piles up by the front door. There are two full bags there at the moment and another bag still in the bin. This is more than a week's worth of rubbish, and he has to walk past the rubbish area to get to his car.
- When he's used a bottle to pour out of, it will stay on the side, open. If he happens to knock it over and spill it because it had no top on, this stays on the side, too.

Now, I am no mug. I have told him that there's absolutely no way I'm buying a flat and living with him if this is how he treats it. We're hoping to start a family in the next couple of years, this is no example to show to a child, and I would feel embarrassed to have people visit if my flat looked like this.

I thought to myself that perhaps he'd just got himself into a rut, and needed a bit of help so, while he was at work, I tidied the whole place and made it completely spotless. I bought him a laundry basket to put in his bathroom and said just fill that up and when it gets full put it in the wash.

Fast forward just a couple of days and, despite the "yeah, yeah, I can DEFINITELY keep on top of this now" we have more trash, clothes still not in the hamper, dirty dishes haven't been washed since I did them, and everything that he's used since I cleaned up hasn't been put away again.

I absolutely can't live in a flat like this, because it depresses me. I'm not the cleanest, tidiest of people by any means, I just think it's stupid when it's so easy to keep on top of things.

He always makes me feel unreasonable when I ask him to do something, rather than letting him "do it later" like I might if they were my dishes, for example. But with me, I know I will do it. With him, they will still be sitting there, with every other dish he's used since, for ages.

He will also make excuses. He's just got a new job, and says he's too tired to do certain things when he gets home at 10 (after working from 6 so he's had the whole of the day before that). I completely understand that this might be the case, and when I've had a hard day's work the last thing I want to do is clean, except he's only just got this job, so what was the excuse before that?

There are certain things that I know we can sort out. For example if I'm living with him I will be going down to the car park with him to go to places, and can therefore make sure we take the trash with us.

I can also make sure we do the dishes at the end of every day (I wash, he dries and puts away), and I will also hoover every couple of days. We will still have separate bathrooms as we're buying in the same block we're currently renting in, so there will be two. So really, the issues are only getting him to sort his washing and pick up after himself if he makes mess. Or even if he MUST leave his washing on the floor, that he keeps it in his bathroom with the door shut! That would be fine as it's hidden from me and guests that way.

Sorry for the rant. To anyone who hasn't been in this situation before you will think I'm just complaining, but anyone who's been there will know just how draining it can be!

I love this guy, he loves me, we've been together for years, have brilliant times, could talk for hours, make each other laugh, have wonderful days out, get on with each other's families, want a family of our own.... but I will NOT be living in a tip, nor will I be picking up after him all the time.

Thanks ;).

I was planning to propose but there has been a death in family. Should I delay it?

I was planning to propose on a fancy trip away next week but my girlfriend's grandfather has just died whom she was close to. She is really upset but still wants to go on the trip.

Should I postpone the proposal to another time?

I have not got the ring yet but had picked one out and was planning on getting it at the weekend. It is a really nice ring.

Why would a girl avoid you?

In work I can see she avoids me if were about to meet in the corridor she will speed up to get back into her room before we walk past. But other times she will be normal usually when others are around. I notice sometimes when I walk into her room, she will grab her pony tail??
confused!
