My friend thinks I'm racist and has fell out with me....

  • Thread Starter

Hi

Basically me and my friend (who are both girls) were really close but I said something stupid and now she has fallen out with me and is telling everyone I am a racist. :(

She is Somalian and we were having a conversation about her being Somalian and I asked her why Somalian people always have such big foreheads, like it was a genuine question and I didn't mean anything horribly from it, I was just curious.

She has told everyone I am racist and has twisted the story even more to make me sound more racist. She said I said that all Somalians look like the people from the movie coneheads  and that I was calling her the N word.

I'm really very upset and IDK what to do........ :(

How do I become more confident?

  • Thread Starter

Hi there. So basically, I'm an introvert. I'm extremely shy and very socially awkward. I'm very bad at making casual conversation, let alone approaching someone in the first place to start one, which is why I find it really hard to make friends. I stutter a lot when I'm nervous. I'm very quiet. I tell myself that I shouldn't care about what other people think of me, but I still can't change myself.

I feel like part of my lack of confidence is due to the fact that my race is a minority in the UK, although English is my first language. I just feel out of place although I've been living here for four years.

In the next academic year I'll be starting my first year of university, and I'm really worried about making new friends. I want to start fresh and be a new, confident person, but even thinking of it makes me feel really uncomfortable and nervous. I would appreciate anybody's help. :(

In a bit of a problem with a girl I like, quite a lot.

  • Thread Starter

I'm in a position with a girl who I've been in a relationship with before, but it ended due to circumstances, we stayed friends through it but we both felt just as friends. We were a great couple, that of which movies predict and I did miss it. However that is quite a while ago, and of recent we have been meeting up a lot more and the connection is suddenly back, I know this girl so well and I can tell she is beginning to fall for me again, I can tell in the way she stares at me when I'm looking away (she doesn't realise I see her). All seems just peachy right.... Problem is: she is with another guy and this obviously sucks but I could live with it knowing she was happy, but I know she isn't. I see them and know I could treat her better, also she agrees, she knows I would do better, she tells me this when she comes round mine late at night and complains about him to me. She has on multiple occasions tried to do sexual things and has brought me to my knees to with temptation. My problem is, I am against cheating and she seems to want to stay in the relationship. What do I do?

How can I ask him if I can touch his hair?

  • Thread Starter

Well, there's this guy I know on my course. He has great hair..and I always dream of touching it. I talk to him a bit but I don't think he likes me and I don't really like him but I think he's attractive..I'd love to touch his hair..but the problem is he's never alone but always with his friend who I also know.

Now, would it be weird if I just randomly asked during a conversation with the two of them that I think he has great hair and can I touch it? Of course I'd say this with a laugh..but I'm wondering what his friend would say about it and whether he'd make it awkward etc..guys, if a girl you didn't really know asked this, what would you do or say? And does she seem weird or just kind of funny? Because I don't want to seem weird. It just looks so soft..
Thanks!

Estranged husband found dead yesterday morning

I think I've started a thread one time on TAM. Anyway, I felt the need to start one today.

Y'know, for as hard-a$$ed as I sounded about my husband, I truly loved him. I realized, five years ago, that I had to love him at a distance.

He lost his government job in July. Apparently, according to the coroner's office, he was evicted from his apartment in October. On November 7, he moved into another apartment.

He rarely ventured outside. Most of the boxes weren't even unpacked. The police found receipts from the local grocery store. The only purchases were alcohol. No food.

Addiction is a hard task master. It took my husband away from me. He had multiple opportunities to choose sobriety. Both his best friend and I went to the wall to get him help.

In the end, Lieutenant Colonel Charles _________ chose to die alone in an apartment. No family. No friends. Just his two cats wandering around searching for food and water.

He had been dead for three or four days.

And this will never make sense to me. Hopefully, I will get closure in my own way, in my own time.

Feminist Porn

Anyone have any suggestions for feminist porn? My husband and I are going to try watching porn together but I can't stomach the porn that is made for men. And of course most of it is. I am open to suggestions about porn that is not absolutely abusive towards women and that is a turn on for both men and women.

WS's please don't say you know the pain you've caused

Because you don't and you can't because it didn't happen to you. Know this, however. It's the absolute worst pain one human being can inflict on another and that you're the type of human being that is capable of inflicting it. Live with that but don't tell us that you know the pain you've caused because you don't.

Should I try out Tinder?

  • Thread Starter

Basically, I'm a 19 year old guy looking to meet more girls as I'm having little to no success where I'm currently living. I know people say "tinder is the ultimate sex app", "it's only full of people who want no-strings" but surely not everybody on there can be like this? These comments have put me off getting the app so far, but I'd like to know if anyone has had a positive experience of being on tinder.

Does a womans age affect her sexual appeal if she keeps herself fit..

  • Thread Starter

Does a womans age affect whether you would find her sexually appealing. For example men in their 40's with good mudcle tone can be sexy but what snout older women For example would you rather sleep with a woman in her 40's who had a fit body/had worked out all her life or a girl in her 20's with an average body/not as much muscle tone.

Or are these bad examples ive used..

I think I substitute game of thrones for a relationship.

  • Thread Starter

Ok I know what you're probably thinking, wtf are you talking about but this is genuinely how I feel. I started watching game of thrones in either November or December last year I don't really remember but I finished it fairly quickly and became really obsessed with it. When I finished I started watching videos on the history of westeros and thought about game of thrones all the time when I was going out, falling asleep waking up doing homework. But at the same time I stopped feeling like I was desperate for a relationship, even friendships didn't phase me much and I learned to enjoy my own company.
Anyway sorry that's so long but I just wanted others opinions on this, I've kind of gotten over it but its because obsessed with the actor Ezra Miller now (which is worse because you can't indulge in the same way as a TV show) how do I curb my obsessive personality?

How should I comfort her?

  • Thread Starter

So, the other night I heard my university flatmate crying. The next morning I asked her what was wrong and she held my hand, hugged me and confided that she felt all alone and was suffering from depression. Now, I understand that depression is a complex illness but is there anything I can do to help her feel more at home. I know it sounds pathetic, but I like cooking and baking. Do you think if I baked some biscuits and a cake that would help her? Or is that too wimpy?

Males help me! Answer this!?!?

  • Thread Starter

Ok, this similar to another thread I posted but a different question.
There's this guy in my course (guy 1) who I know, not very well, but we have to work together a lot. He's friends with another guy on the same course (guy 2) who I talk to a bit as well. They're always together.
Guy 2 has great hair and I want to touch it..or even smell it but I probably can't do this haha. I want to tell him he has really fluffy hair but guy 1 will definitely be there.

Now, I don't think he's attracted to me. I do not know if he's single, and I can't really predict how he'll react. Guy 1 may also say something to make it awkward..

If I do say 'you have nice fluffy hair' and then say 'can I touch it?' and he says NO, what should I say? What should my reaction be? I don't want to look embarrassed or sad..though I will be. So, what should I do or say?

If a girl asked to touch your hair and you said no, what reply can she give to you that will make her look or seem quite interesting/cool??

I just need to be prepared in case:cry2: he says no :(

want to start dating but am Muslim

  • Thread Starter

hey.
So as you would imagine things would get a little complicated with parents and everything. But being at uni i suppose i do not really need to tell them unless it becomes serious do i? Um more to the point I know dating is technically not allowed but does that still count now? I mean there are certain things we do not practise anymore because times change and being 19 i do not want to get married any time soon. So me wanting to date really a huge issue?
