Keeping in touch with a foreign friend

  • Thread Starter

So, I'm 16, I live in England, and I have a friend who lives in France. She's a cool person, and I'm home educated so I don't get to meet that many people, so I'd really like to get the chance to talk to her more. Right now, we talk every so often on Facebook, but it's rare we're both online at the same time, and if we're not the conversation goes slowly and peters out.

I don't think it's because she doesn't want to talk to me (I could be wrong, but I don't think so) she's always really actively nice to me, she uses emoticons, the replies are long, etc. Then again, she's a really nice person, so she might just be being very polite, so I think the odds are in my favour.

If you think it's relevant, I'm a boy, she's a girl - I'm not trying to pursue any sort of romantic thing with her, I just thought I'd mention it in case it changes anything.

This may seem like a weird question, but I have pretty bad social skills and very little social experience. Also I'm very anxious. Is there any way I can just straight-up ask if we can find a way to talk more that doesn't seem creepy / overly invested / pressuring?
